So if i connect my series x through micro USB, to use the headset for my pc I would have to switch the micro USB right? There isnt another way to connect?
Hey bro, thanks for the video. I do have a question about how to capture game chat. I have the Series, and I use a Elgato 4k60s to capture my game play. What do I need to capture game chat?
I was just following your steps when it said my update failed and when I reattempted my headset died so they at 0% while needing an update. So the headset is dead while needs an update at the same time idk what to do I’ve been at it for hours now
You forgot to mention that you lose the ability to use your equalizers and to adjust chat volume and game volume. With this headset you can mute game chat with the buttons on the side of the headset, You lose all functionality of the buttons on the headset,

You go into much more detail than Astro's own setup video and don't skip the necessary step of updating the firmware like they for some reason do.. That, and you get right to the important content without blabbing on and on about crap nobody cares about like so many RU-vid channels do. Excellent video bro! Thank you.
Even 2 years later this guide is way more helpful than other RU-vid guides I've seen or especially astro themselves. I can say anything more than what others have already pointed out. Thanks a bunch for clarifying cuz I was about to take them back.
I just bought it. It sounds great and the base station works.. But what I’m wondering is normally when I log into a game on the top right corner of my tv it says Dolby vision and Dolby atmos. But when I log into a game with the headset on it only says Dolby vision. But it is set to Dolby in settings and on the base station. Am I missing something? 🙏🏻

If you see this years later I had lost all hope until I put it into xbox mode, plugged the base station via micro usb into my xbox series x and then when I docked the headset it instantly gave me the pop up saying headset assigned. Try this before giving up after your headset is updated. Works perfect!

I was my A50 for PC only the day I got my Series X and I used my old A40 for the Xbox, but now my A40 got a loose contact. I was about to buy a completely new one if I didn't find that video. So I want to say big big thanks you safed me a lot of money and I can go back to gaming now
Just got a Series X after using the a50's on an Xbox One for a while. I was always a bit perplexed at how Dolby Atmos worked without buying a code, you've informed me well my friend (good news to hear I've got a lifetime subscription that I wasn't aware of too), I'm a happy man 😎👍

I powered up my laptop after seeint a lot of complaints but funnily enough, in 2023 you no longer need that update. There wasn't one and everything works fine! Great video regardless, thank you, this is so much better than Astro's!

I've tried this but it doesn't work for me. I had to downgrade to my old TV just to use the optic cable so I can hear sound with my new Xbox. It honestly sucks :(
I’ve done all this and I get sound fine but I’m not sure if I’m getting Dolby audio? The Dolby button on the headset doesn’t make any difference to the sound for me. Is that how it’s meant to be or have I done something wrong?
When I try to download the firmware it keeps saying it’s in bootloader mode I’ve tried downloading the firmware on windows 10 and standard command center. I’ve reset my headset couple times unplug everything and plug it back in nothing still works.. Please help
This is an Awesome video. By far the best video. But I still can’t get the sound to work. I’ve been working on it for HOURS & I’m so frustrated. I’m going to have to return them & really don’t want to. I have always owned Astro headsets but I don’t know why this sound isn’t working. Anyone else have the same problem after doing everything on this video? If so, what did you do to fix the issue?? Please help!!!!
Is optical one of those pieces of tech that has now become obsolete or is it still a valuable option when it comes to audio? In short, if optical is an option with something, should it be used over other options?
If optical is an option, it still has the superior quality with most scenarios. For gaming headsets I don't think the quality difference is noticeable.
The firmware update is not coming up for me... I plugged it into my pc and started up the astro command center, but there's no notification that it needs a update :( please help

Get the app that he shows or update the astro on the astro website on pc or laptop, or on if your on xbox one use both cables and update it still on astro.com
Learned the hard way. First try via Astro website once you install and if that still doesn’t work. Try but downloading Astro command center via the store like the Microsoft store etc Then try to install the firmware again Worked for me this time!
I bought my A50 wireless+BaseStation gen 4 for the ps4/5 Are these able to be used on the series X as well by downloading this onto the basestation and headset or will it not connect at all due the platform it’s sold for which is the PlayStation?

This is without doubt the Best info online regarding the xbox s/x A50's firmware update to send audio over usb ... as a electronics engineer specialising in audio I feel this is step backwards and it is only a cost cutting exercise by the manufacturers it only saves pennies per unit built! Did all the steps, everything is detected in the atmos app and even set to Dolby atmos for headphones and I never get any audio through my headset. All firmware is completely up to date as well.
@@madden907 yeah I returned them. These headphones are not as compatible with the series x as claimed. I guess I’m just stuck with my wired Razer Krakens
Video makes it seem so easy. Yet like you, did all the steps, still get no game audio through the headset. Same headset works fine plug and play on PS5 though... why make the Xbox so complicated?
@@Verlassen13 yeah I don’t understand why Xbox has so many incompatibility issues for wireless headsets, that never used to be an issue until the Xbox one era. 8 months after returning this junk of a headset I still haven’t found a remotely decent wireless headset compatible with my series x.
I followed the tutorial and I’m still not getting sounds through the headset. Everything looks like it worked I have the app downloaded and it said it’s ready to go. Not sure why it still won’t work…

The only problem using the A50s and A40s in usb mode they both go into passthrough mode so the eq and Dolby buttons are disabled because the Dolby access app does it all on the Xbox!
Hopefully you see this. Have you had any issues with the headset not charging when it’s put on the base? Mine sometimes connect and sometimes the base 4 charging lights flash alternately, not in line like they are charging. Even customer service was not helpful in figuring this out. Yes, update was done.

Its like shit over usb no 3d sound and you have Always Problems With Sound stutter and this things for Xbox one x Good Perfect no Problems and for Series x Shit very shit
