In this Astro Vlog I headed back to a location that I've only visited the once, but when I last visited I knew I'd be back to capture the Milky Way Core rising. Though not planned, I took the photo a little further and much wider using my Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer 2i Tracker. I hope you enjoy the video and if you're not please consider subscribing :)

What a nice set-up for astro. That timelapse was quite beautiful with the clouds actually, adds a bit more motion to the clip, but indeed will give some tension when it’s about time to shoot 😂 stunning panorama. Brilliant!

thanks for a good video . Do you need to loose and rotate the tracker clutch back to the initial position after took like 3 to 4 tracked image? Or Nothing to do with it , only focus on turning the pano head? Thanks
@TheTiredPhotographer
@TheTiredPhotographer 2 года назад
I start off with my camera not 100% flat, so that by the time I do all my tracked images the camera has rotated up to being flat and then only a little off to the other side. I was only only doing single 1min exposures.

Great work but unless I blinked or missed it you didn't mention what Lens you used for your tracked Panorama ??
@TheTiredPhotographer
@TheTiredPhotographer 2 года назад
I’d say you’re right, and I most likely didn’t mention it. I’m always forgetting to say/mention things late at night. 🤦🏻‍♂️ But I used my Sigma Art 24mm f1.4 lens. 👌🏼

The timelapse was great Joel the start I take it was shot in moonlight, I love the colour of the night sky with a small amount of moon to illuminate your foreground I got some last year early on in the season which are on my instagram of the Eta Carina and Coalsack coming up whilst waiting for the core. The image at the end was awesome, I think the foreground especially with your selfie was especially good. I got some tips too as I was going to ask the MSM FB group if anyone used an rotating indexer on top of the Z plate now no need haha! Can I ask what do you think of the Lefoto? as I was leaning towards the Sunwayfoto? cheers Carl....and you bagged another subscriber, and I've got the bell ON!
@TheTiredPhotographer
@TheTiredPhotographer 2 года назад
Yeah I started the timelapse as soon as I arrived when the moon was still setting, so I was interested to see the transition to complete darkness. The Leofoto rotator is great, I can’t fault it. I’m sure the Sunwayfoto one is ok as well. Thanks for the sub and welcome aboard. 🤙🏼

@@TheTiredPhotographer thanks Joel I'm hoping to get out this week and try my new Nikon Z6ii, I had been shooting Fuji on the APS-C with the MSM.

Awesome image. Love the perspective with yourself in the shot. I’m interested to know how you attach the MSM Z bracket to the tracker. I just got a SkyWatcher Star Adventurer GTI and I’d like to be able to try some panos.
@TheTiredPhotographer

I attach the Z bracket to the “ball head attachment”. It came with the 2i and SAM. So you’ll need some sort of dove tail plate to join to.
