The stars on the astronaut definitely look more realistic with the varying sizes. Being able to point it any direction is also really nice. Other projectors should really add that feature.
I liked the stars on the Astronaut too. It would be better if the stars were blue and you could turn the nebula off. If the stars from the astronaut combined with the nebula from the galaxy one it’d be perfect.
I haven’t bought one of these projectors yet but I think one thing I like more about the astronaut one is the stars seem more natural and the stars on the other one seemed too close to each other and too linear
Thank you for this video. I was just hit by an ad for the astronaut and didn't trust/couldn't make much from the ad, so the next thing I came looking for a review or something to see how well this fare, found a few videos but yours was by far the most insightful. Seems fair enough for my intended purpose (gift for child as a night/sleep decoration).
Omg yess!! I've been looking for a galaxy projector for a while! I saw your review of the 3 main ones and was about to get the galaxy projector 2.0 but the price was too much for me. I saw this astronaut review and was like yess!! I ordered last night and it just got here! It is beautiful!!! I have a big room and covers almost all my ceiling. The stars definitely cover much more space, walls and all. Mine doesn't make any noticeable noise, unless you put it next to your ear. There is no glitching in the lights either, it is so seemless. The nebula is very saturated. Remote is simple and easy to use, over all love it! Thank you for helping me make a decision!!✨
Yes!!! I wish it had like a zooming option to make the nebula bigger on the astronaut… it would’ve been amazing, I would not care If it’s not bright enough as the other one.
Because of this review i finally decided to buy the astronaut projector. Personally I don't have any stuttering in the nebula. The stars are beautiful on this little guy. Great projector for the price. Thanks for the great review 👍
I like the overall look of the unit but would’ve much preferred it if it had projected images of real galaxies and nebulae on a more realistic star pattern.
Others do, but those don't seem to illuminate the room as much, from the videos. I'm getting one, and while I think I'll love to look at the realistic photos going to bed, this one seems to create more of an atmosphere.
I like the stars of the astronaut better. Seems and feels more real like a real night sky that i would normally see. The GP2.0 seems to busy with the same stars per space like the Christmas lights you see people have projecting on their houses.
I think they could have done a much better job in Galaxy projector 2.0 as far as the star pattern is concerned. They could for example show the core of the milky way instead of showing a pattern of stars that looks like the kaleidoscope effect. The repetition of the pattern of stars is quite noticeable. Not worth the price at all. Nice review.
Yes - if you look at the axis of rotation, the 'stars' form a series of concentric circles with a few other stars scattered about. I prefer the star distribution of the Astronaut projector, with a few bright stars randomly scattered among the less bright ones, even if the overall effect is not so good. I won't be buying either.
In small rooms it fills the space really well. I bought it and I love it. My partner has PTSD and can't sleep without a light on, but the light from this projector is sufficient, and it's so much more chill for me. I would totally recommend this for kids, too. It's a very relaxing light and works real well for anyone scared of the dark. And it's fun. I love mine!
I have an astronaut star projector and i really like it, although there are a few little things I wish I could change. I got hit with an IG ad for a company called Pleshy, sayings it's "the original" and I'd be really curious if it actually is the original or any better, or if it's exactly the same. It's too hard to tell these days what companies are legit and what aren't.
Pleshy “Spacebuddy” is the legit version and it looks amazing! These are the Chinese knock offs basically but I can confirm that the pleshy is authentic 👍🏼
I had a Galaxy projector 2.0, it was really cool and many of my friends saw it and bought it as well. That said it only has a 90 day guarantee, so if it fails after that you have to buy a new one. Of course mine has failed after 6 months and I'm not sure if I'll order a replacement. Although this was referred to as "premium" in the video, I think all of these gadgets are on the low end of what we'd consider "quality". I think the stars on this Astronaut projector look really nice. You can turn down the number of stars on the galaxy projector so it would probably look similar, but as mentioned in the video the astronaut has a wider spread which covers more area.
I agree with many others on here, the Astronaut device star layout is far more realistic than the 1 your endorsing?? Are you being paid to endorse the most expensive 1 ? It certainly sounds like.👍
Futurespace, Thank you so much for the Rewiew! :) What I appreciate of the Astronaut projector; The more spaced stars that cover a larger area. Above all, they are not aligned like the "Galaxy Projector 2 - Blue" or in circles like "Galaxy Projector 2.0 - Green". (Patterns also present in the "Bliss Light 2.0"). The Astronaut projector also stands out because some stars that have RAYS. In my "humble" opinion, the quality of the stars is better, but the quality of its nebula is less. (The nebula of my astronaut is fluid.) Between my projectors "Bliss 2", "Galaxy 2" and "Astronaut", I prefer the Astronaut! For the STARS!!! :D For those who prefer nebulae, Galaxy Projector 2.0 is better. ;)
Thanks for watching and dropping a comment! What you said is more or less what I found to be true in the video, the Astro projector does have some great stars!
Yeahp I remember asking you about this, I now have 2 of them, one in the kitchen lighting up the living room ceiling and one on my bedroom on my desktop setup which has an astronaut theme. I love my Astronaut projector!! Great video on comparison!!! And no the animation doesn't jump, it's a smooth transition & makes no noise...(see if you can get another one)
the astronaught projector is 1/5 the price now as the galaxy. For same price as galaxy you can get multiple for people as christmas girft. The astronaught cuteness and rotating head and better start projection it's a hard sell to buy the galaxy for nebula alone.
@@FUTURESPACECOLLECTIVE Got it and it's great, a really good value for money. The stars and the nebula are beautiful. My five-year-old just loves it and uses it every night. Thanks again!
It's a shame, we need to combine both. As others pointed out, the stars of the astronaut look much better, they are rather stochastically scattered and variable in size. Also they are really pretty intense dots, no matter if they are on the ceiling or the wall. The galaxy projector has much better nebulas but the stars are pretty terrible actually. The get skewed and distorted towards the boundaries and for some odd reason, they look like they are on some grid. Pretty terrible actually.
The elephant in the room is green stars. Integrating a white LED with the RGB seems a no brainer. Surprised you don't notice that, given video production quality.
They are laser stars...not LED stars. There is no such thing as a native white laser. Green lasers are the brightest source power input and why we see them on most star projectors by default. To produce a white laser is much more advanced and would involve combining a red, green and blue laser of different wavelengths into a singular beam first. This would complicate the product design from many different aspects including, power, heat, safety, cost, and size just to name a few, which is why we only see what appears to be "white" colored lasers on advanced projection systems and in professional applications, (stage and concert visuals for example).
Bought the little ASTRO dude after watching this, but it's dead silent and doesn't skip like the one in the video, I think something is wrong with yours.
You can adjust brightness remove the nebula and nebula speed with the remote. Whichever brand you buy of these astronauts. I’ll be buying one off eBay at some point
The have the astronaut bought it for my friends kid. I plugged it in liked to so much I wanted to keep it. I ended up buying a second. It’s great. Aesthetically pleasing also. Don’t think too much about it and buy it. The nebula is great. If you’re trying to be a a literally space scientist or something then I guess you might be bothered but this little guy is great alone. As is.
I recently bought the astronaut projector for young son, I find the laser a bit too bright and worry about him looking at it, would be good to dim it down or turn it off
Thanks for this video. I bought the Galaxy Projector 2.0 months ago thanks to your review. I am happy with my purchase. Very rarely I do see it shift & make a sound just like the Astronaut demo. I notice it when it's really quite, but mostly I use it as background lighting for my content on Instagram with music so it's not a big deal. Like I said it happens rarely so it isn't noticed much. My Galaxy Projector 2.0 is not in frame in my content, but the Astronaut is cute and if I had it then I feel like I'd want it in frame, but then it might defeat the purpose of the projecting aspect lol.
Why are the stars green on both projectors? Can’t these guys make just bright white stars as we see them?! Even if they were a little warm white I could live with that. But green stars? Who buys this? I suggest they add a few little green men on their disk shaped spaceship . Maybe then I wouldn’t mind the green stars.
I love your content. I also have the Astronaut Projector. The animation doesn't jump at all, it is very smooth. Also, I don't hear any major noise at all. I'm sure you have a bad unit here. I wish more projector comes with a remote control instead of the phone apps only. I heard the Galaxy Projector 2.0 and the Bliss Lights apps requested way too many permission (contact, gps, photo, etc) from your phone just to operate. Those apps have a rating of 2 out of 5. How is your experience with those apps?
That's great to hear, definitely just got a bad copy it seems. I don't really use the apps, I just find my favourite setting, and then automate it for on/off with my alexa personally with all my other lighting gear!
Wonder if I got a newer version of this astronaut or if there are different version. My base is even alittle different. The version I have the nebula is not as small as the one you're showing, and there is zero noise. It's bright and wide, and seems to have way more stars. There are also no glitches in the nebula.
@@maarja.kallaste Astronaut Starry Sky Projector. On the box the letter O in Astronaut is the shape of an Astronaut helmet. The box he showed looks the same. I wish I could load pictures. Someone also left a comment about not being able to use the Stars only. On my model you can use either the nebula or stars independently.
you can get one thats a astro dog looks like a french bulldog sitting dressed in a astronaut suit,I have it and it works great and very good quality solid build
@@SimoneOconnell , I have that one too. I really like it. Different type of nebula then the Astronaut. The nebula in the dog looks more like a ocean wave.
Hi, Futurespace. Your Astronaut projector is really cool. But there is a new Astronaut Projector with bluetooth speaker and a Galaxy Projector 2.0 with a Whirlwind, Galaxy Light effect. They're now available in shopping online.
Later models (i.e. without the buttons) seem to work more silently. I can only hear a slight gearing with my ear a few inches away. Do wish the stars were more animated. After seeing that far more realistic diffusion lenses are possible, also a bit disappointed in the one used. However at their price point it's hard to go wrong.
Pleshy is a fake company the box been out since 2022 thw company didn't start existing until 2023 plesshy is a fake company buying products than selling them for a higher price
Bought the pleshy space buddy for my handicapped brother, and was very disappointed. The nebula stayed ,never changed and there was NO movement what so ever. The stars are green and the dimming worked, but wish the stars were white and not green. The green makes it so fake looking. So now i am on the hunt to get something better. Never getting the Pleshy again
Ok see how the astronauts stars are not spinning but the nebula is ? And on the galaxy projector 2.0 the stars spin with the nebula? I like the stars being stationary while the nebula spins. Even though the galaxy nebula is bigger and brighter. I wish we could take the best of both
The astronauts nebula looks way better! The other is too bright and doesn't blend very well. Plus the stars are terrible on the more expensive one! Astronaut is by far the winner here
The GP2.0 has dimming options and I can assure you the extra "brightness" comes handy, as all these galaxy projectors can feel quite dim with other ambient lights! Astronaut is a good deal though!
