During a trip to Saturn's moon Titan, an astronaut begins losing his mind, missing memories, and doubting what parts of his current life are real or not. Subscribe to our second channel: tinyurl.com/Mo...
Movies about astronauts in space obsessing over some woman back on earth and having lots of flashbacks have become their own sub-genre by now. Dorky screen writers need to cool it with using space as a tool for their lame beta male relationship drama stories. I want some proper science fiction about exploration again!
Why is Sci-Fi space movies always some supernatural mindfu*k event where the crew either end up kiling eachother or some super human/monster kills them? Why can't the crew ever just reach their destination and witness an amazing new planet and actually follow through with their mission? This is one of the reasons I liked the movie The Martian so much. It was just a science space mission where the protagonist had to solve some problems on a planet that he already landed on and no supernatrual crap. Can we get more movies like that and drop this boring trope for a bit..?
Those sci-fi movies that you're describing try to tap more into the 'fear of the unknown' and 'insignificance of humanity' aspect of space, with some-sort of unexplainable eldritch event or entity driving the crew insane and/or killing them. The concept itself is interesting but I agree that it's been done sort of to death. Movies like the 'Martian' where the crew are fairly competent and the movie is grounded more in real-world science and understanding of space are less popular because of 2 main reasons. The first one being that it has a lot less broad appeal than the more action/thriller plots of a space monster. Movies like the Martian attract a more niche audience of space nerds. The second being it's much more difficult to write. It becomes effectively a requirement that the writing team has a solid background in science, maybe even needing to hire actual scientists to make sure they get the facts straight. A space monster on the other hand is much easier to write, it's just a scary looking creature that eats some of your characters occasionally.
It’s easier and cheaper to make the first one than the second. Can you imagine the set and cgi budget for a new planet ecosystem and stuff? With this you just need some rooms and the occasional shot out a window.
I honestly wouldn't mind watching it. I watched the movie recap of jackpot and didn't think much of it... Then I watched it ooh boy that was good 😂 movie recap just tells it like it is. It doesn't bash a movie which I appreciate. But it does spoil it, which sometimes can still help you decide weather or not it's when worth watching. 😊
@@Alex-vz2jz that's the real reason he voted himself out. He legit thought his gf didn't love him coz he had negative rizz and he was gonna die on Titan a sigma virgin. Little did he know his girl was bangin and waiting for him back at Ohio 😭
I watched this movie and was kind of saddened that the premise in the end was he loved the woman and by following his delusions that's what killed him. So love killed him. Rest of the movie was pretty interesting though
Hey I like the animated hopglosh! And yes, I would really enjoy a live action take on the absolute psychological horror to one of my favorite sci Fi shooters. 😂
Seems like a pretty cool movie though...production quality seemed super nice. Writing was...typical. Stale "I miss my girl", and "what is real" cinema tropes. Overall, great actors handicapped by lackluster writing.
These sci fi movies with relationships and men pining for their girlfriends are just soooo pathetic and boring as batshit. It’s a nauseous attempt to widen the audience by adding ‘ something for the girls’ just brings the whole sci-fi genre down.
