Incredible what we could see in atacama desert, our milky way galaxy, Andromeda galaxy, satellite galaxies and many others celestial bodies out there. Just stunning! 🤩

I went a bit into the southern part of the Atacama region last February and already there the sky was awesome, despite som light pollution and not being high enough. Also, at that time of the year, the center of the Milky Way is not visible. One should go there at winter time in the southern hemisphere. Still, got some nice photos, and I will be be back this coming January with even better equipment :)
that was in 2014. now they got 4 running in deathray mode :D If you would link that laser to your adaptive optics telescope you would be the absolute king at a star party haha

The laser is used to measure atmospheric distortion. This data is then used to warp the main mirror of the telescope to compensate for said distortion to get much clearer images. Its called adaptive optics.
You can only see that with a very expensive camera. all you sow in this video is infrared light, humans cant see infrared light but cameras can, and they do as you sow in this video. There are many places in this planet where you can shot those pictures, like in the middle of the sea, in the woods and so far and so on but you cant do it at any city or town cuz of luminic contamination, thats why those radioscopes are placed in speciffic places.
