AstroPhotography under dark skies (Velika Planina) / Eagle Nebula

I decided to run away from all the light pollution so I went on a trip to some darker skies and this time I chose to go to Velika Planina, Slovenia. It's crazy how much a location change, can boost the quality of your images, It's an amazing experience spending a night outside, with a crystal clear view on the MilkyWay.

A one and half hours and you can see the Milky Way with your naked eye. Here in Michigan, I have to drive at least for 5 hours to see the stars 😭!

I’ve got dark sky envy Tadej 😕. Besides lockdown and all the associated light pollution we’ve got way too much twilight right through till early August here at 56 degrees north. But thankfully I should soon be able to visit some favourite dark sky locations and gather some photons. Clear skies and be careful out there.

Thanks Tadej I’m doing good and can’t complain with all that’s happened in recent times. Lockdown has actually been pretty productive for me in this amazing hobby. I’ve switched from my Star Adventurer to my AZGTI and inspired/guided by yourself and others I’ve got my setup working well and I’m even autoguiding now! Also I haven’t licked a battery since I was a kid ☺️

I love your general camerawork - and content - please add more technical detail... and how to.... I have the GTi but not the polar wedge.... which is coming next. The 2 tips I could suggest (otherwise everything is excellent) is 1. Talk a little bit slower, please 2. Your music is a little bit disco and energetic for astronomy... maybe a more mystic mood ? but that's just my taste... thanks all the same for sharing this trip... hope you weren't too tired by the end !!

Thank you very much, I think I was a few minutes too late to get some 'golden hour' light, but you will see more of Slovenia in the future, as long as the weather plays nice 😆 And yes I'm very happy for the subs, I just hope everyone enjoys the videos. Clear skies, Take care!

Thank you very much, and to be honest, I didn't bother taking RAW images for the timelapse, just .jpeg-s, compared to the timelapse at the end from my backyard,... it's mind-blowing what you can see under some better skies. Again thank you, I'm very glad you like it :-D Clear skies.

Great result. Since you’re using a DSLR I’m wondering how you deal with image noise. Probably covered in another video so I’ll definitely look for it.

Hey Dave, mostly trough getting as much time on a target as I can, but I think I'm talking about noise in one video, but I really forgot where It's quite harder dealing with notice now in the summer and high temperatures.

Image looks great mate .but I think you need a Tri-band filter and you wouldn't have to leave home mate .I live in bortle 8 London and the Tri-band filter cuts light pollution like crazy mate I have to use long exposures or the images going to black mate

Thanks Ryan, and yes I agree, but I quite like to do some traveling and still do some deep-sky astrophotography, however, there are days I just can't travel for all sorts of reasons and then I really wish I hade tri-band filter as you mentioned and I will definitely invest in one in the future 😉 and wow, imaging in London that must be tough.

I've bought a mount like yours mate just to play around with and a 60mm scope going to use my DSLR with it .what do you use to polar align your mount ?

@@ryanhogg6556 When I was using a laptop I did the polar alignment with the SharpCap Pro, but you need a guiding or cooled Astro cam for it since it doesn't connect to a DSLR, but now I use the ASiAir witch makes polar alignment trough the DSLR.

Please , how can you look at the night sky and say im not Religious or Spiritual . Thats stupid . This comment is Magnetism on a Disk on some server transferred to you by light . Those are all material things . But the content of it is not material . Its spiritual , and it has a creator . I know that because i am that creator . I had to think, and make it in my mind , it was made completely before it even came here . So its a Conscious effort by Spirit . Simple example test it for your self to see that even stupid comments have a Creator and Spirit behind it . Let alone Universe . There are no Randomly Generated You tube movies , made by nature by chance out of chaos and explosions liek they tell you universe is made . That is just stupid
