@@Bert439he did not come set. By rule, this is not a balk. The call here is under the rule where the ump can use his discretion to determine if the pitcher was intentionally misleading the batter and/or runners. This was a bad call.

uhmm, I wouldn't call it folding to pressure, the last 2 teams he faced are just better hitters and they had a chance to watch videos of him pitching to prepare; the 1st three games everyone was flying blind. (I watched highlights of those 3 and kept wondering how long he would stay lucky and balls hit to warning track would start going over the fence; I've kinda got my answer these last 2 games)

@@rayrussell6258 yeah like anything especially with a guy with good stuff, it takes time before hitters start adjusting based on more data available in the big leagues to analyze. Look at Outman. Got hot in spring training, stayed hot in April to win Rookie of the Month but then pitchers starting adjusting on how to pitch to him. Now Miller just has to do the same

What you guys arent realizing is that in both games he was cruising for 4 innings up until he made a mistake. In the giants game he made a pick off attempt that failed as nobody was ready to recieve the ball which lead to the runner going to 3rd. The replay showed him being mad at himself which eventually led to lamonte wade jr's 3 run bomb and that terrible 6th inning. In this game he walked the number 9 hitter with no competitive pitches thrown at him. Then altuve bunted and miller wasnt expecting it to the point where he forgot he was supposed to either, track the ball and throw it to freeman, or run to first and let freddie throw it to him instead. These are mistakes but they arent terrible mistakes they are simply rookie mistakes. If he can calm himself down and slow the game down then those mistakes can be the difference from 1 or 2 runs to 6 or 7 runs.

@@luiss.3866 I see what you mean, I did notice his frustration in some of those. I think if necessary too Smith should try to help with that kind of like last night when Smith talked to Sheehan after he gave him a pep talk on the mound after he gave up back to back runs to Dubon and Tucker and he was able to settle in after

MLB doesn't want to ruin there image of horrible umps they also didn't show those high and outside call of altuvr and bregman and once they got to the dodgers the umps were all of a sudden good again

I’ve been watching Astros Baseball for 50 years.. Never seen a guy balk home the winning run with no runner on 1st!.. That’s hard to do, but Stanek did it..

@@jacobjones5269 it was a balk. But the point is umps just cant make random calls like that when they want to. Pitchers do that all the time and never get called on it why here and now. Also home plate ump was horrible
