Yasha, God of Melancholy. A man who gave up everything for a cause he believed was the greater good, only to realize millennia too late that the cost was too high, the way he had followed was wrong. Yasha, God of Melancholy, brother to Wrath, died on his feet, a smile across his face.
@@tremendousyeet3467 tbf, he truly thought it was for the best of everyone at that point in time, saves his brother from additionnal pain, and keep protecting his niece even if he couldnt protect his sister i think? Which was Asura's wife. However he quickly realised in his sorrow that what he had done was not worth it killing Asura the 2nd time as he was merely an angry and powerless beast at that point a shadow of his brother. Then he got his redemption on the 3rd life, while Asura's teacher got the most baddass end possible
It's incredible that after 12,000 years of betrayal, Yasha can make the right choice and stand by his brother. He does not ask for forgiveness, only for the opportunity to do what is right.
If I had to guess, it probably had something to do with the game being mostly cutscenes, on-rail shooting sections and impossible to fail QTE's. The small amount of combat that was left wasn't much to be praised until about half way or so into the game, where you need to actually give a damn about what buttons to press, and when you actually experiment with the combat, it's pretty damn good (camera movement and lock on can be messy and flying enemies can go suck a fat one tho). All this along with CAPCOM's scummy DLC practices at the time might have had an effect on the public perception of the game. But I must say, after playing it for the first time, hard difficulty on the emulator with decent FPS and resolution, I'm kind of in love with it, sure the story is just ok at times and I got frustrated in more than a few segments but after that Augus fight and hilarious bath scene, I was like "ok this game is FUCKING AWESOME" and was fully on board for the rest of the way (man, those final fights are really good). It is indeed a shame that it didn't sell as well as it could've, because in terms of popularity, I'd say it's become a huge cult classic by now. anyway sorry for the long-ish response-thing, much love, and don't make my fucking daughter cry.
To be fair to them, this was back when you couldn't have half the game be in a day one installation patch and disc space was something devs had to consider. They simply didn't have the space left to fit the last few episodes into the base game and had to make it DLC. Still kinda scummy that they didn't make it free like what Mass Effect 3 did, but them's the breaks.
@@splitjawjanitor5369 They planned on the second part being a different game for that reason, then the game flopped. So Capcom *Let them release it as DLC. (God that felt slimy to say).
This is absolutely addictive. Honestly I'm not sure who's actually cooler, Yasha or Asura(though it's clear who's more powerful) This song that's has Japanese instruments but sounds like a Wild West lone gunslinger song with a metal twist to it is just.... it's just glorious.
@@bcgazero6472 Leave it to you to focus on that part. See what most of us remember is Asura destroying a sword with a blade taller than a mountain while it was impaling him and then putting Augus down like a rabid dog, before using what was left of the sword to kick ass without even any hands. So keep that in mind next time.
Perfect for calisthenics work outs. Especially when u do it outside in the summer heat. That slight sensation of death lightly grasping ur shoulders is priceless. Brings u closer to ur self than anything else
Here's my interpretation of Yasha's theme, which I believe highlights three aspects of his character. Orphan Wolf Legend - Wind represents Yasha as an individual. His Mantra Affinity is Melancholy, something that this tune strongly evokes. Slow, somber, and poignant, it perfectly encapsulates Yasha's sorrow as he distances himself from those he cares about for the sake of "The Cause". Orphan Wolf Legend - Fang represents Yasha as a fighter. The fast pace of the track combined with a sped-up version of his leitmotif showcases his lightning-quick moves and immense power in the heat of battle. Orphan Wolf Legends - Bonds represents Yasha as a Deity. In the eyes of the common man, he is a divine being who guides and protects them, and so offers this song of praises and prayers, unaware of the underlying loneliness that he feels as an individual.
Wind: Yasha, the lone wolf. Just a single, melancholy whistle -- like a cowboy from the wild west. Fang: The whistle is accompanied by a dueling guitar -- Yasha has met his match. The energy is pumping. Yasha, in conflict, is no longer alone, and he has found unlikely purpose. Bonds: Yasha's whistle is accompanied by a native American chant -- no longer dueling or complimenting his melody. Almost ignoring it. Yasha is alone once more, his bond with Asura lost in the legend he helped create.
can you imagine the shock a 10years old boy watching this game accidentally on a tv game show? this game really means alot for me,its such a shame for its commercial failure because the unfinished combat system, i'd change everything for a remaster or 2
We need a sequel to asuras wrath where we can see the reincarnation universe after the 870 million year time skip but play as the reincarnation universe characters
just came back to this after 2 years....the guy had a kick: 70 times Planet Buster Lvl and i think its sad, Asura's Wrath Characters get overlooked so much in rankings and the like what a shame.
Less powerfull than most would think. Mithra's most unique ability is that she can manipulate and amplify Mantra, to the full extent of its power. This allows her to enhance the powers and Mantra of others to much greater levels, as well as rejuvenate their vitality and stamina. besides that she has the typical Immortality and Youth or [Eternal Life] with normal lvl's of enhanced regeneration, and Vacuum Adaptation. Theoratically she has the [potential] to be an easy galaxy buster but since she lacks any and all kind of offensive techniques and training as well as "Just" prime human physice because of her lack of training wich results in a lack physical power as well. so still weaker than most besides maybe kalrow, sergei and olga. but Olga and sergei are techically able to fight, we just never got to see it. (Also in the very End an exausted Olga nearly managed to kill Mithra)
@@Nebulasinbloom4 Hahahahaha! 🤣 They _did_ come off as a bit of a nag, didn't they? But don't let it get to ya, I think they just meant to say that Yasha simply fills the role of "the protagonist's rival", a role shared by many more characters besides just Sasuke. 👍
Yasha sometimes reminds myself that when i was kid i used to play with a lot of kids until the day i stopped that was how i became the lone wolf who rides on his own
