If i do not enable web access from WAN, does that mean I cannot hook my ASUS ROUTER up to my Sagemcom fast 5688W tmobile router threw the WAN port? Or would that be OK still?
@Builtbypete I'm connecting the ASUS So I can get better down/up speeds, plus possibly better ping. As of now my tmobile home internet sucks. Lots of people say it will help. I just want to open up more options to the Sagemcom fast 5688W tmobile router I'm rockin now.. I hear the Sagemcoms wifi antenna isn't good that's inside the router, so that's why they say to get this or something similar. It's just what I could afford. I've never hooked up 2 modems before, or bridged a network or any of that. I just PC Game and I wanna reduce lag and ping, better latency would be nice.. Tmobile just has us (it's cutomers) in shackles with the non ability to change or switch options on router. I do in fact have a way of turning off the wifi in my main Sagemcom fast 5688W, my problem is when I disable the wifi for the main , then hookup the asus via cat6 ethernet, what settings do I configure on the asus.. alot of videos and reading got me all confused. Imma attempt the process tomorrow when the cat6 cables get delivered.
The Asus has good bandwidth management as well as device prioritisation. It also has a good gaming mode. I have never used the T-Mobile device, but if it has a modem mode then that can feed into Asus wan port via ethernet. You may have to try a few different settings in the Asus wan settings tab, but I'm sure you can get it to work.
Strange. There can be various things that can cause pack loss. Have you tried different destinations for your ping tests? Maybe also try a traceroute and see if there are network elements causing the issue.
