@@bachatas809 nope🤣Msi capped the 4070 in the katana to 85W tdp for some reason losing about 10% performance. Also the katana has a weaker cpu, a worse battery life, and a terrible display.
Finally a budget laptop with a display that actually has 100% sRGB. The 4070 is still a "meh" card to me overall but this is a good deal for it at the sale price of $1150.
Hey bro, excuse me, I need your help, I just bought this laptop but I live in Venezuela and I need to know the size of the box for shipping. I need the height, width, and depth. I would really appreciate your help.
Its possible... Some people use battery management (99% on battery mode and 100% on charge) you can make 100% on battery and you may need to go to settings/display/graphics setting/ and then put it on the mode you want it to operate
Stumbled across your reddit post while browsing/googling for laptop deals, took 2 days of refreshing but I was finally able to buy this laptop, so excited to catch up gaming on max the games that are a few years older because I've never had a pc/laptop that could handle it. It'd be a nice change of playing everything on low LOL. Thank you for such a detail and easy to follow video. I have to ask for anyone with experience, how is it travelling with a gaming laptop when it comes to charging it/adapters/converts and all that? Would just standard adapters work? From US mostly going to EU, in the past I've just used standard adapters but wondering if it'd be just as easy with gaming laptops.
flight attendant here. yes standart converters are ok for laptop. because it adjusts its required voltage with its own adapter. just power it up. but gamingwise on battery these devices are 0.
I bought this laptop (after watching it from you and ty so much for the recommendation) and have a quick question about power limiting while gaming, you were saying if this was your laptop you'd keep it at 60w. I admittedly don't know too much but I assume it's safe to swap between manual 60w (while gaming) and silence mode, without it hurting the components?
@@brauliocalderon2100 Its great I have zero problems with it, though it gets pretty loud if you play games on ultra but I usually do medium/low and the fans are quiet and the game has solid dps
@@Devilishlybenevolenthow many fps on games on high ultra settings and u got gta5 pls tell me how it performs and apex legends I would be so thankful for that at ultra epic settings
@@77rockcity it ended up going on sale for 1000$ a week later and I got my money back, my friend got it at the 1400 and we can’t complain this thing is a fucking powerhouse I stream 1080p60fps from this thing and play vr with it, it has completely replaced my desktop
No. If a laptop comes with ddr4 ram then you can't upgrade to ddr5. Same with ddr5 laptops, you can't put ddr4 ram in them. It's fine tho, ddr5 is not even 10 percent faster then ddr4. So not significant.
Is the ASUS - TUF Dash 15.6" FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB DDR5 Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 - 512GB PCIe SSD - Off Black Better than this one? I was going to buy the one in 999 in Best Buy but they sold out and I missed it 😢 but now the dash one is on sale for 1,200$ should I get it or wait for november black Friday specials?
1 question please, if i had monitor 2k 165hz am i gonna play actually on 2k ?? Or the laptop limit is 1080p ? I believe 4070 with 13gn intel would be amazing especially if you are playing on 2k
Same laptop here gets 95°c playing bf2042.. but other games 80 to 82 and you will need 32gb of ram.. 16gb not cutting it cause every game I tested is using 14.7 to 15.3 gb of ram.
Hey @gizmo and whoever has this laptop! A quick question about the screen: I come from a Strix g15 (2022) and the best thing about that was how deep the black was on the screen. Is it the same on this laptop, or should I expect too see some "grayish" scenes, especially at full brightness? Thank you all!
yo i get 60-65 fps on my 4 year old 1660ti asus tuf on warzone, how the hell is there only a 10 fps increase from 1660ti and 4070??? looks dissapointing ? lol I dont understand it.
@@GizmoSlipTech I am torn between two deals I picked up at BB recently. Would you keep this TUF purchased for 999 or a Legion Slim 5 SKU: 6534470 purchased for 1149?
@@GizmoSlipTech Thanks for the info. Although from what I’ve read because the 12700H series is locked, undervolting is not available. I read there is a possible workaround though. EDIT: I didn’t realize you can change these settings in Armory Crate. Now to learn how to undervolt. The other question I had was if this laptop comes with a gen 4 NVME SSD? I know it supports gen4, but no where does it mention if it comes with one stock. Thank you
@@closer0000Hi bro, how was your experience so far? Were you able to keep the thermals under control? did you limit the cpu in armory crate? Thank you
@@galileo6728 It’s a fantastic laptop if you get it for the $999 sale Best Buy does on and off. If you run any cpu intensive game the cpu goes straight to 95+ degrees. There is nothing you can do about it. So to keep it averaging in the mid 80s I have used Throttlestop and set ProChot Offset to 15. The cpu will still get up to 95 degrees but won’t stay there. I found playing with PL1/PL2 to not be useful in the long run. You either limit the power too much and therefore gimp your cpu or it just gets as hot as it wants either way.
Would this laptop also be good for running editing softwares such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop since it is at 16 GB of RAM? Thank you for any help anyone can provide!
my exp with this laptop: 1 speaker face the desk so u'll get lower volume on the left side there is no replaceable wifi card and in my case the second nvme port lose the ssd after reboot on linux. had to shutdown completely the laptop to get it back.. both usb-c ports keeps power on when laptop is pluged in and there is no option to stop that behavior in the useless bios
@@butterfly3737 by usb power on i ment that if laptop is pluged in it will deliver power over both usb-c even when laptop is turned off. ive discover this with an external hub that has a status led. the hub was on when the laptop was turned off completely. if i disconnect the charger from laptop the hub will turn off too. the same happen with my older hp laptop but this hp laptop has option in bios to turn off usb ports too if you want.
Please review ASUS TUF Gaming F17 (2023) Intel Core i9-13900H 13th Gen, 17.3" FHD 144Hz, 8GB RTX 4060, Gaming Laptop16GB |1TB SSD | FX707VV-HX067WS. It's a model only available in India, if possible please review this one!
I'd say whichever is cheaper is probably the better bet, but I have tested the Asus TUF F15, and I was impressed--so I can recommend that one for sure.
I would love to see Forza Horizon 5 as a game test. Too much 3rd person and 1st person game test. But I get that the game needs to restart when changing settings. Maybe when the new Forza Motorsport comes out
Is this better than the rtx 4050 AcerPredator Helios Neo 16? I bought the Neo 16 because it had liquid metal cooling and the temps were far better and on your review it still ran Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra minus ray tracing at 120 fps. The screen resolution is also better with higher nits as well. At this time they cost $899 for Neo 16. $979 for Tuf F15. I spent the extra 100 on a 2tb ssd, though im wondering if that wasn't the best choice 😅
Gpu is not fully utilized in warzone 2.0 . Gpu utilization hovers around %40 did you make any specific config foe this or ? Camçn you alsı test it out without using dlss in order to fully utilize gpu in warzone 2.0 ?
Hi, torned between the two: TUF F15 15.6 - 144HZ i7 - 12th gen H RTX 4070 1 tb ssd 16gb DDR4 vs Hp Victus 16.1 - 144HZ i7 - 13th gen H RTX 4070 1 tb ssd 16GB ddr5 Assuming it's the same price, it seems the Hp victus is at advantage of specs due to 13th gen processor and ddr5 of ram, however rumors said that hp victus got some lower quality of display of its sRGB and nits, do you have any reviews on the TUF F15 on its display? also they said that the DDR4 RAM (16GB) can be upgraded to not just 32GB (based on manufacturer) but 64GB confirmed by other verified user? Which one to choose since hp victus got the advantage of specs, but not much of a review here, also any downside of the TUF F15 you found out? for these past months? TIA
you game on the laptop screen itself or plug in an external monitor? Me, I stopped building desktop gaming PC and use the laptop as my daily driver, plugged in to my PC monitor. So I guess the screen doesn't matter to me.
How is starfield running on this thing? I have the nitro 5 with 6800h abs 3070ti but it’s QHD display. I been getting anywhere from 45 fps in Na to 80-90fps in instances areas. My desktop destroys starfield but my laptop appears to be CPU bottlenecked and I’m considering getting a better laptop with 4000 series and a stronger cpu but I’m not sure if the 12700H will be that big of a difference from the 6800H. Granted starfield is poorly optimized, has no dlss, frame gen, and a lot of other features yet. I’ve been looking at 4070 laptops but with stronger CPUs. Considering an Omen with a 13900HX and 4070, even if I could find a 12900Hx. As starfield and cyber punk appear to be my new 2 favorite games. I don’t want to have to worry about my laptop struggling with either game. When I bought my current laptop it was more then enough for D4, Wow, cod, but starfield def getting mixed results and from what I can tell appears to be getting a cpu bottle neck.
@@doubleshot9448 I actually didn't get to try it out because I returned it and got the 4080 and intel i9 laptop. My laptop gets loud and I get between 50-60fps on max settings.

I don’t want to have to worry about my laptop struggling with either game. When I bought my current laptop it was more then enough for D4, Wow, cod, but starfield def getting mixed results and from what I can tell appears to be getting a cpu bottle neck. Will this i7 bottleneck the 4070 in starfield? I’d imagine so in FHD. I’ve downscaled and get no FpS boost just drop GPU utilization so I know the 6800H is the bottle neck.
I need a laptop for college and i was going to buy a Acer not gaming for $600 but i saw this one on best buy for $999 , is this the best gaming laptop for $700~1,100 out there?
I have a problem with this computer, when I place it on my desk, the 4 ends of the base should touch the desk, but only 3 ends touch, the left end, where the screen is not, does not touch the desk, I don't know if I I explain well
Probably not great while gaming. But it comes with a 90 watt hour battery which is great at this price point so it should last a while when not gaming and using the MUX switch to use the iGPU rather than the dedicated GPU. That was a great sale Best Buy just had on this laptop.
