I got it 2 weeks ago because I needed one for the university. I'm in love with it, gorgeous performance on games. I play Far Cry New Dawn with everything on high and it still has 1GB of graphical memory for other stuff. It's awesome, the battery is... Fine, I mean, if you disable some stuff like background apps and stuff you can make it last more time, I was getting 2 hours and a half, went for a solution and now it is giving me 4-5 hours. I'm really happy, also, I only play while it is plugged, so I don't know how it would do on gaming without the turbo mode. I'm in love, I can't complain about it, it does everything it has to do. Also the keyboard is really comfortable and it looks really cool. It does nearly no noise unless you're on turbo mode, which honestly, doesn't make that much.
@@chexblu Which one have you got? The i5 version or the Ryzen 5 version? Asking because I just found that this comes in both flavours. Personally, I think I'll go for the Core i5 version with GTX 1650. No idea what is the model name for that one.

YEAH! So here I 'am almost a year and I finally bought a new laptop "woohoo". I was on a budget so I bought the Asus Tuf gaming laptop as you have shown here but the FA50611 model. I'm curious as to watching this model and looking at pictures of amazon reviewers with a different model it mine has the second upgradable nvme SSD slot because the picture that amazon reviewer should on Amazon didn't have a second nvme SSD slot only one but when you buy the Asus Tuf it shows in the advertizing pictures that it has 2 nvme SSD slot and additional HDD slop. I mainly got this laptop because after watching you make it look so easy and a friend's advice I wanted something simple but easy to upgrade in the future. I just bought the Asus TUF A15 that comes with the GTX1660Ti. That model is a little different. Although there is space for the 2.5 inch drive, the connector is different and you need a ribbon cable to install it. That model also brought a second M.2 port that will only take NVMe SSDs.

May I suggest you place a 1/2 inch vertical lip on the edge of your workbench. It keeps screws and other parts from rolling or bouncing off. Thanks for the videos!
I was add 8GB DDR into my TUF and second HDD drive into SATA. Thank you for your video, its help me. For other upgraders, when you putting the bottom cover back on the laptop, first you need to click the edges on the front edge where the touchpad is. Because if you click the opposite side where the fan vents are as first, it is not possible to subsequently click the front part, and you could damage / break the plastic handles.

Hi, just a quick question. Is there any other RAM slots inside the machine? Apparently, theres two more of them, but only two accesible slots when you take the lower plate. And Windows task manager tells me that there actually 4 ram slots. Thanks

It's a very solid machine. I've just upgraded my 6 years old fx504gd by replacing it's very slow hdd by a crucial 2to SSD, waiting for the P5 plus NVME + heatsink. Next step is to buy the 120 Hz screen, a WiFi 6e card, a fingerprint usb device for windows Hello and it will be good to keep for 5 more years after I've checked thermal paste everywhere needed on the motherboard. Wait, I gonna upgrade to the 32 GB ram also. Only 24 for now. Only trade off is absence of Thunderbolt but anyway it's a great value device. It's so reliable that I don't want to change. I've seen so many laptops of the same generations having issues of screen, motherboard, fans, battery... I keep this one
Crucial nvme and Crucial SSD instead of HDD, the laptop works so fine... Going to buy a wifi 6 card to follow the new standard. That's a reliable machine.
I'm new to all this, and just purchased my first gaming laptop! It's the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 with 8GB RAM DDR4, INTEL Core i5-10300H 2.5GHz, GeForce GTX 1650 Ti and 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. Id like to upgrade the RAM for sure. But, I was wondering... Is it possible to upgrade the Graphics card and processor too? And what upgrades would you recommend I do first? I'm excited to make this a side hobby of mine because I want to learn more about computers and how they function.

Very Informative video, very new to working on laptops. But got my mem maxed out and 1tb ssd, but am wanting to add a 4tb HD all the ones I find are 15mm height will that be to tall to fit ??
This computer on the video is a new one so I have got a question regarding the warranty: could the back cover opening means also the warranty removal? That's something that has been told to me but it's kind of nonsense: Asus provides screws and everything to upgrade RAM or disk but there are those cover screws with this blue thing that tells "it has been opened so no warranty!". Hi. Thank you for the video. I bought the Ryzen 9 4900H version of the TUF A15 with the 48h battery. I want to add a 2.5" HDD, for backup purposes and I think the largest 2.5" HDD currently available is 6TB. Will a 6TB HDD fit in the caddy/bay dimension wise? Hi. There are tons of videos on youtube on how to use one. Basically though, make the wrist band is nice and snug to your wrist, have the metal part firmly against your skin. Once you remove or expose the electronic components, attach the clip to any metal part of the chassis, ie. , hinge etc. Dale

very helpful, congratulations! I own an fx705g with 16gb of ram and I think the procedure to use to upgrade the ram is the same as the FX505 model. Before buying the new ram to install and before opening the pc I wanted to know if it is equipped with 2 banks of 8gb or only one of 16gb. Because in the first case I would have to throw away the two 8gb banks and buy 2 16gb banks while in the second case I would have to buy only one 16gb bank to reach the 32gb target.

Great video! I just had my screen replaced to find out my hard drive is dying. Looking to upgrade the hdd and add a ssd. I have no problem with speed but would like to upgrade that a little too since I'm going to be in there. Was looking for some extra tips for products. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi. You easily replace your hdd with a 2.5 inch sata ssd. You should have at least one m.2 nvme ssd slot as well. There are many choices for nvme drives. The Crucial P5 m.2 nvme is a great drive, the XPG SX8200 pro from ADATA is awesome too. There is also of course samsung . Many choices. I use the ones I listed. They are good drives. Dale

What was the last thing he changed? Did the 2 rams, and added a hard drive.ive just removed my hard drive and change it for a 1t, 2.5 SSD fits in the same slot. But what's the smaller card he changed my laptop has it too
I have fx505dd and just changed the ssd recently. Since required to install windows, i just noticed the audio quality is no longer as previous. The audio sound seems muffled and i already checked the audio driver is already the latest update. Do you got any idea what need to do?

If you disconnected your battery inside, double check it. its really hard to say without looking at it. Try removing the ram you put in, back to factory and see what happens. :(

how is maximum high of hdd which can be installed as a second to SATA, because some of hdd are 7 mm high but some models from seagate are 13mm high, 2TB models or higher. if its no problem to install there and also get back the cover correct. thank you
