I went to Walmart and it looks pretty good and fast. I might get it for my bday! It’s not That light, weighs about 2-3 lbs. the cover is also very modern !
I got this laptop for a few months and works perfect for game development, photo edits, and my college work. Its up on best buy for $399 as of may 15/2022
Vivobook S15 means "15 inch screen in a 14 inch body with the weight of 13 inch laptop"...nothing else needs to be said :D Have had this machine for nearly a year now and I have to say, it is one great piece of equipment. A year ago I was looking up for some kind of compromise when it comes to laptops, because I was tired of carrying heavy laptops with fans that sound like a desktop when they are heated up, so I checked this incredible range of colorful laptops and picked the yellow one which is my all time favourite color :D In my case, I was thinking about returning it back to the store - I bought it in very poor conditions, because manufacturer had forgotten to update the mandatory drivers (including Shutdown, Sleep, Hybernation moods) which were taking my laptop ages to switch and I had to use a software to download the most recent updates for those and BIOS as well. After I had it done, I would have never exchanged this laptop for anything else. Performance wise, you cannot expect it to run the most contemporary games with its thin body, single fan and relatively small components, but as I am no longer the gamer I used to be, it has become completely unnecesarry for me. Interesting thing about this LAPtop is the fact that you dont really wanna use it on your LAPs for extended amount of time, because the extra hinge kinda makes the pressure on your lap noticeable after like 15 minutes of constant usage :D However, you appreciate the hinge on the table surface, because it really improves writing experience (at first I thought it was a bulls**t), and it also improves the cooling of the system through the exhaust under the base. I can only notice the fan if I keep "edging" my laptop or if I play games for longer periods. Other than that, it remains cool and comfortable for your palms during the full day of work/student's purposes, and you can barely feel it in your bag since it only weights 1,7kg, which is impressive for a 15" laptop.
Do you think the laptop will be OK to play basic games like Roblox? I need a laptop that I can do my schoolwork and do that on the side for a reasonable price
Vivobook 15 vs s15 comparison should’ve been your title.. you kept going back and forth telling what you Iike and don’t of both.. it wasn’t a full review on the one “Titled” product .
@@AnythingLounge I didn't need to come up with much when fuck tards like yourself are so fucking sensitive over a video... That's what happens to the effeminate man that sits around playing games all day and moonlight as keyboards warriors...you wouldn't understand it any other way simpleton...
I have the Vivobook 15 with a 3500u, Vega 8 APU, 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD. I believe you can do more with it than just using office apps. It's got a great design, it's smaller than most 15 inch laptops and it's light. The keyboard is good too. Performance-wise, I can play GTA V online on normal settings which is surprising to me. I use it for work (front-end web development) and it never freezes or overheats. Now the bad things: The screen is really, really bad . Bland, dull colors and awful viewing angles. I've thought of returning it due to how bad it is, but eventually decided not to, as I use it with an external monitor most of the time. The build quality is also bad, it looks good when new but the plastic scratches quite easily. The touchpad freezes sometimes but I don't use it often so I don't mind. The camera is not that good, but I don't use that a lot either so it's not a dealbreaker for me. In short, THE GOOD: Light, small, beautiful, ergolift hinge, small bezels, good keyboard, powerful for the price. THE BAD: Awful screen, average touchpad, average camera. SHOULD YOU BUY IT? For under $400 it's great value for money and you probably should buy it if you don't mind a shitty screen.
Nobody buys a sub 400 expecting they can run high end games or powerful editing software . It's like measuring a fish by it's ability to climb a tree.....
Your videos are ridiculously high quality for the amount of views and recognition you're getting. Keep it up and you'll end up very successful in the tech youtube world. You didn't come this far just to come this far!
"This computer is not as good as the S15" That's the "review". Just talking about the fact a laptop that costs more money is better. Who would have thought?
Man, I thought my mouse pad wasn't working for about a year! When you showed that button I checked mine and... bam! Mousepad back working! Smdh. Can't believe that button is even there.
In my case the vivobook 15 is still much better than s15 as It comes at cheaper price point Plastic is better (for some reasons) ,screen is the only issue that seems to be better on s15 but vivobook is still ok as at still works if we watch it straight ,(no one can see what I do on my laptop 😈 from sides)
The vivobook 15 is 650$ and the 15s is 850$, Vega 8 is 2x times better, so I completely disagree with you. The difference is 200$ so I don't know why you don't compare that. Nice video quality btw
This video helped me to clear confusion for making a purchase. My two options were Asus Vivobook 15 vs Acer Swift 3. The information about color accuracy of display was new for me. Thanks for sharing valuable information.
The devices being compared are in two different price segments. The vivobook 15 is about 30-50% cheaper than the s15 (depending on your location). You really cannot call a cheaper product bad because it does not match up to a much more expensive one.
Well mine which came with an Intel i7 10th gen processor, Nvidia geforce mx250 GPU, 8gb ram (stock I got it upgraded to 12) and a 512ssd basically perform exactly the same as my mates S15 and his was actually 2000 LKR(about 11 USD) cheaper than mine.
I got an oem version of the vivobook 15. I just wanted something as cheap as possible and I got that. The one I got didn't come with a fingerprint scanner or a FHD display or a backlit keyboard. (the M509DA model). I got it for around $400 us dollars (converted from Australian dollars). I kind of regret not getting the FHD display but other than that its ok for the price. I'm coming from an ancient pentium (sandybridge) laptop so it is really nice compared to that. I live a very poor life style so am happy to get any laptop. I installed a second 1TB HDD along side the 500Gb SSD inside. Was difficult to open up and service compared to older laptops. And the hdd kit was really finicky to put into the motherboard. The HDD mounting bracket sucked as well.
I love your style of making content its actually not boring. Like those animations really make your videos more amusing you deserve more subs bro keep up the good work
Hi Sean, I have a question this might sound stupid to you but I'll ask anyway, IS Vega 8 the same with Radeon Vega MOBILE GFX? I bought this Asus Vivobook15 from Amazon and it says Vega 8 on the specs, but when I check the properties from this computer it says Vega MOBILE GFX. I'm not sure if MOBILE GFX is the equivalent of Vega 8 on notebook laptop or maybe it's the general term for all Radeon Vega.
@@Gilpotie mobile GFX is general term for integrated graphics ...... If you want to boost your graphics card (Vega 8) just download the ryzen software provided by and on there official website 👍
The only reason why u expected to have good results to play games on the Asus vivobook 15 because u have to adjust the Radeon graphics to make movies and games look better in case ur wondering because the Asus vivobook 15nis my daily laptop for work editing and games plus mine came with 475 gb not 230
Dude. I have a general question which your two reviews of the 15s can specifically answer. I hear you RU-vid techtypes always saying a dedicated GPU is better for Image and Video editing types. It makes sense, but two questions -- 1. Will watching video in VLC and online at places like RU-vid make things feel snappier? Or does the integrated Intel Graphics have that covered? 2. I thought a selling point of this 15 inch was the GPU... and yet... you just said video editing would be better on the S15 with Intel Integrated Graphics?
You'll be surprised at how specs dont matter as much as the actual user experience. How the graphics card communicates with the processor and keeps everything in memory differs from laptop to laptop, and sometimes less is more lol
The Vega 8 graphics are integrated graphics, it is not a dedicated Gpu it is the same thing as intels UHD 620 etc, it’s just much more powerful. Now that being said if programs aren’t optimized to use AMD chips and are optimized for intel then the UHD 620 might work better but that would be software specific.
@@alanrobbs842 Thank you. I tried an AMD Lenovo Flex 14 at Amazon. I was little bummed out to learn that 2 of the 8 GBs of RAM were reserved for Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. So if it's not dedicated why is the RAM? (For my needs all is well, since it's a secondary non-workhorse laptop.)
The 2gb is just dedicated to the graphics section of the APU, and like you mentioned it comes from the regular pool of memory. If it was dedicated it would have its own 2gb of ram and not using the system memory. Technically intels integrated graphics use system ram as well but I don’t know/think there’s a way to tell the system that it can use 2gb. By dedicating the 2gb of system memory gaming performance should be a little smoother. Now I’m not sure how Lenovo does it but if you enter into the bios you should be able to change how much the graphics uses. Sorry that’s a lot of info but I just wanted to be thorough. I build computers all the time and keep up with all the nerdy aspects of computers
There's another vivobook 15 variant with i7 and 512gb pcie ssd ,mx250. I'm massively conflicted between the s15 and vivobook 15 since I'm getting them for exactly the same price.
@@iStein both of them are equally good. Since im going to be using it for editing plus light gaming. I've decided to go to the store and try em both and then finalize on one. Although the one you reviewed in this vid is the lower version of the vivobook 15. Great review nonetheless
There's a youtube video of a teardown of the x512 I'll paste the title so you just have to search it. ASUS VivoBook 15 F512 (X512) - disassembly and upgrade options
Did you faced any problem? I am asking coz i am thinking to buy but i am stuck between Asus, lenevo, and hp but confused which company has better after sales service?
To what degree of Celsius does the GPU go and what is your cooling in general? I have the same laptop only with ryzen 7 and vega 10 graphics, the cooling of the gpu is terrible, during normal operation it is around 50 degrees, and the type when I went for a full scan on the microsoft defender gpu goes to 80 degrees...
Hi guys, how can I get all the keys as they are on the keyboard? (Asus Vivobook 15) When I choose the English(US keyboard) I cannot find the @ and # at all? With the German keyboard at least # is at the right place, @ is shift+". Which keyboard do I have to choose?
Bro I was gonna flame you for comparing those two cuz here in Europe vivobook 15 costs 620€ and s15 costs 800€ and I was like bro wtf they are on a different level but , on Amazon they have similar prices and vivobook 15 is overpriced. Never mind that was a good review
Hey man, im not sure where you got your information from but this laptop DOES NOT have a dedicated graphics card. It has a Ryzen 3500U which has the Vega 8 integrated graphics. Not a graphics card...
@mikenstein hey can i get a reply from you? I just now purchased 256 ssd 4gb ryzen 5 vivobook 15 512DA and there is a backlight keybord button but i really don't know how to turn it on could you please help me how to do it somehow because that button on keyboard only turn my touch pad on/off
The display isn't good cuz it's not IPS.. it's TFT and almost all Vivobook S series come with IPS display. Go with S Series.. if you want awosome display.
You can't complain about gaming performance because you are misinformed. The Vega 8 is an integrated graphics solution not a dedicated one. Also this vivo15 probably isn't the best spec to be comparing. There's a ryzen 7 version with Vega 10 graphics that is probably the one to compare.
I'm a bit confused, the laptop you have has an intel sticker, yet you say it's a ryzen 5. Is it not the i3 version? I know there's a ryzen variant but costs almost 40%more. I have been checking this one out and to be fair this laptop shouldn't be used for video editing, if you do video editing you can manipulate your dad into a Macbook or something pro.. But now to the ral world, if you don't do youtube as your main job an i3 with an SSD is going to be a marvelous fast snappy laptop. If you go for the ryzen 5 you will get less battery but i7 like performance and good graphics. It's all about compromises, what you do with your laptop and price.
I'm pretty sure the review unit he has is the intel i5 version but the specs he was talking about was the x512da. The i3 version is trash if it's not just used for internet browsing and Microsoft office use because it is quite slow but if that's not a problem for you then go for it!
Thanks for the review. I thought Vega 8 was integrated not dedicated. Curious to know how new Vegas plays on it in 1080p high and games of that era. Because that's what I bought it for and I'm excited for it arriving lol
I've had my Asus VivoBook 15 for little over a month now and have just noticed it don't have an ethernet port. What the heck.....what if I wanted to connect hardwired, guess I'm just sh*t out of luck. daaaaaaa
I don't like the rear fan discharge, I h ave seen many damaged Macbooks damaged by this type of fan discharge... In one or two years might do it inn ..

@@firefalcon5441 I realized that on paper it's not being given the chance to say otherwise all I'm saying is a Hp laptop of the same price range wouldn't be able to compete neither style nor raw power 🙇🏾♂️
Would you say this is a good laptop for the price and would you recommend it? I need it for schoolwork and to play games like Roblox and Minecraft but I am getting a laptop as a birthday present so I have a budget
