I have this monitor currently. I got it back in July 2020 to upgrade my Asus 1080p 60hz monitor. Along with this, I got a Geforce RTX 2070. I thought that they were a good pair for my budget then, and I bought them in the same month. With them, my plan was to play games at 1440p and watch movies in 4k. It has served these functions well. 60hz was an adequate refresh rate since the RTX 2070 for games of that year couldn't really do much more than 60 FPS at high settings in 1440p although it could play older pre-2018 games in 4k (e.g. PS2/PS3 remasters) smoothly at 60. Overall, the build quality has been good. It's a TN panel, and with proper setup/calibration, the colors look pretty good for it, and on mine, the black uniformity is solid. It's much higher quality with better viewing angles than the one I had in my previous Asus monitor from 2012.
Personally, I don't mind the bezels since they are the same thickness on this 4k monitor as they were on my original 1080p monitor but the 4k monitor has a bigger screen and the bezels look very clean in terms of their finish and appearance too. I also think that it looks nice since the bezels are all uniform around the whole monitor as opposed to some weird offset on the top, bottom and sides. I have loved using this monitor so far, very nice!
Question. I bought this last weekend and I had purchased a NZXT PC. With this model it has no built in speaker, thus causing no audio output or input. What do you use to fix that issue? Definitely need help asap
Sorry for the late response, for some reason I didn't get a notification for this comment. I use a couple of different speakers as you might have saw from my NJSJ video. I also have a low profile speaker bar which seems to be a great alternative too as you can place it under the monitor and have it directly in front of you. Most of the time though I am using headphones so that is just for the times when I do need an external audio source. Let me know if that helps! 😁
Hi, I just bought this monitor recently, but when I first turned it on, it was way too bright, it's like a foggy film laying on the screen. Later on I found a solution to set the gamma value at its lowest with Windows settings so that the screen is not that bright. I'm not sure if mine is a factory defect. May I ask if you have experienced this? Thank you.
The monitor is on 80% brightness by default, and it was very bright which is great for a room with a lot of sunlight but can be overwhelming in a darker space. If you look at the menu navigation section of the video at about 6:20, you can find the setting for the brightness. All you have to do is click the button on the back of the monitor, click the little joystick downward, and then click it up or down to change the brightness level. Let me know if this helps, thanks!
@@Adam_Carbone Thanks for the reply, I tried to play with the brightness, it can get dimmer, but the quality for the image and graphic is not ideal by just lowering the brightness. For now, the best solution for me is to set the gamma value at its lowest in Windows settings, and adjust a bit in the monitor settings. I checked the monitors with HDR and mini led features, I'll forget about it, the price is too high, lol. I'll keep enjoying my current one
@@leeyang4798 Sounds good, glad that I could help and that you figured out a solution. If you have any other questions, I would be happy to help so feel free to ask anytime! One other thing that I would also look at is the color profiles and presets because it is possible that maybe yours is on a profile that is only meant for a certain application and so it might look weird with normal use. I remember when I was initially looking at some of the presets, some of them did have interesting contrast, brightness and colors, etc, which worked well for their own individual applications like gaming or watching movies so that could also possibly be a solution and even if it isn't on another preset, there might be one in there that looks better to you too.
@@Adam_Carbone yes, I noticed that, I've been using game mode preset since the beginning, and it seems to work the best for me, the other presets are either too bright or too dim, or just isn't right. Thanks again
Hey, Buddy, Merry Christmas. Hey I need to know how to adjust my saturation mu Sharpness and Aspect Ratio. I'm having a Hard time accessing it. can you please help me?
As far as I know it does work. I have freesync on and the monitor defaults at 4k 60hz and there is a big difference when playing games at 30fps vs 60fps so it definitely runs more than 30fps as per the refresh rate specification. Hope that helped, if you have any other questions, let me know!
I don't believe it does but most OSs and console have a screen saver settings so there isn't really a need for the monitor to have one but if you have an Xbox, a Playstation, a windows computer, Mac computer, or even Linux, you should be able to configure that via the device, hope that helps!
Can someone help me I'm planning on buying this monitor for my ps4 slim, I'm buying this monitor incase if I get a ps4 pro which supports or ps5 in the future. Is it going to be blurry for my ps4 slim, because when I bought the pixio PX278 monitor which was around 30 inch it was soo blurry for games that I play especially the game Rainbow six siege. So should I buy it
I mean personally I don't think it looks blurry, the image is very sharp and there are lots of image and color profiles that you can sort of fine tune both in the monitor and in your games if necessary. I tried to record the quality of the screen in 4k with my phone to get a more fluid and higher res/fps image at 2:54 so that gives a better look at what it is kind of like. It is hard for me to capture the full fluidness of the monitor on camera, but it does look really amazing in 4k!
@@medoo9225 That is just what you are going to get when you have a 1080p device on a 4k screen. I am typing this to you as I test it in 1080p and it isn't too bad if you are sitting 2-3ft or more from the screen. Especially if you think that you are going to get a PS5 or upgraded console in the future, I would definitely consider getting this monitor, especially since you can adjust the sharpness and stuff.
@@medoo9225 Well like I said 1080p device and 4k monitor, that is what you are going to get, instead of 1 pixel, it is filling in 4 pixels on the 4k monitor to simulate 1080p so it is bound to look worse. The only way to avoid that is really to get a 1080p monitor but like I said if you are planning on getting a newer device, it might be worth just dealing with it. Totally up to your preference though!
