You can attach the stylus with the laptop. I've same problem when I bought the laptop. While it's open you can simply attach it with the buttom of keyboard ( just make sure the tip of stylus is pointing towards to your other hands). And while you off the laptop you can simply attach the stylus parallel to top corner of your screen.

Finally. I'd like to thank you for mentioning the button that switches all open apps/browsers between the two screens. I knew it existed but never really used it. So your mentioning it reminded me to see if it would be useful in my usual work situation *and it was*! [My usual work situation is a full-screen app in the main screen and two open Excel files in the lower screen that I constantly refer to when making decisions in the main screen app. I sometimes need slightly more information so I expand a single Excel file to full (lower) screen. That's the normal situation, but occasionally I need to update the values in the Excel files and up to seeing your video I did that by extending each file in turn to full lower screen just as I was doing when I only needed to *see* the information. Now, after your reminder, I just press the switch button and only then expand each Excel file in turn to full screen to do the updates. Only very slightly more effort (click before and click (back) after) and a much more pleasant update experience.]

It's a very handy button hey, especially when the windows auto adjust to fill the screen height. So glad my video is helping so many of you. My original video 7 months ago ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HVpzd9FM8sg.html ) had lots of similar comment where others said it's the best review video for this laptop on RU-vid, so humbling. A final comment (after the one that started "Finally"!). I usually in Windows use the menu bar (Start etc.) at the bottom of the screen. I've found that that was somewhat irritating in a dual touch-screen device so I moved it to the right-hand side of the (main) screen. I recommend that all users try it - it's much more convenient when used with this device.
@SkyPerspective
@SkyPerspective 2 года назад
Hi Mike, I am enjoying all these discussion so you can have as many "Finally" comments as you like. 😁 Thanks for the suggestion, and I know what you mean by it's disrupting dual screens. I used to have my Windows taskbar on the left side of the screen and the start button on top left of the screen when I was using Windows 10. Just to let you know in case you are still eager to upgrade to Windows 11, in Windows 11 we can't really move the taskbar to different sides of the screen anymore, or at the very least, it's broken. www.howtogeek.com/760036/windows-11-lets-you-move-the-taskbar-to-the-left-or-right-but-its-broken/
@MikeWal2
@MikeWal2 2 года назад
@@SkyPerspective Thanks for the link. Good that I’m in no rush on this machine to move to 11. I’m right-handed so all my touch (screen) actions are done using my right-hand. It would (imo) be very awkward to have the windows task bar on the left-hand-side when touch is used most of the time - on the right it’s just where my hand automatically heads! (They seem to be adding back features to Win11 that they removed in the initial versions, so hopefully being able to locate the task bar where you want it will come back (and work!) too.) Finally :)
@SkyPerspective
@SkyPerspective 2 года назад
@@MikeWal2 yes I am right handed too. For me I had the menu on the left and I am using my left hand to navigate the menu so that my right hand don't need to leave the mouse. I can use both hands, left hand touching the screen while right hand clicking with the mouse. I am glad I am not the only one who likes to try new ways, experimenting moving windows task bar around. 😄 Microsoft should have fixed this before they even release Windows 11.

@@SkyPerspective What’s a mouse ? (More seriously I don’t use a mouse when not sitting at a desk and with both the iPad and the Duo I have never connected a mouse. The only time I use the trackpad controls is when I want to quickly and accurately scroll up and down an Excel file as using touch for that either doesn’t work or jumps past what I want to see - but usually I just use touch anyway and scroll for ever…)

@@MikeWal2 😆 LoL, your "what is a mouse" comment makes me feel i am so old school. I have never thought of not using the mouse. Maybe because I rely a lot on muscle memory. However with your way of using just touch screen and track pad, I can imagine how we can start to live without the mouse. Thanks for the idea, I will give it a go and try using without the mouse. You mentioned you use both the iPad and the Duo , so do you actually use both of them at the same time, like use the ipad as the second screen?

Great video! I currently have a 14 inch ZenBook Duo, and I'm betting on my next laptop being the larger Duo Pro for even more screen real estate.
@MikeWal2
@MikeWal2 2 года назад
I also have the 14 inch and for my needs it’s a perfect size because I’m combining its use with an iPad Pro 11,9 so I’m using touch screen a lot. So while I regret not having two 4K screens, I don’t regret not having the larger screen. [Nor do I have any complaints about the quality of the non-Pro (in the name) 14 inch.]

@@NigelMelanisticSmith I'm not sure if I'd call it a set-up. I've been mainly using the ipad Pro for the past couple of years. Now I'm using either that OR the Dual and only rarely combining them. @@MikeWal2 how is battery?
@MikeWal2
@MikeWal2 2 года назад
@@texsion It lasts long enough for my needs (which probably isn’t an answer that helps you much). I tend to use it for “work” which means having several Chrome tabs open in the main screen (typically only one visible so full-screen) and three Excel files open in the bottom screen. I maybe use it for about an hour at a time (at most) maybe three times a day. (The rest of the time I use a large iPad Pro mainly for reading newspapers and magazines and twitter) and put the Duo on standby (it’s on standby at night too). If that’s all I do I probably charge it about once every 3-4 days. If I look at RU-vid films on the top screen the battery goes down to 20% in a few hours (my guess - it’s certainly warning me much quicker). One thing to watch out for is that as delivered it only charges to 80% and then warns you at 20% so battery use seems more than in actually is. I now have it charge to 100% and don’t necessarily re-charge at 20% but it goes down by a percentage point rapidly when at less than 10%. Note too that the one I have is not the OLED model. Hope that helps.

@@SkyPerspective I was wondering about why two identical systems were being different dates (or no dates at all) for an upgrade to Windows 11. It seemed to make no sense. Then I realised that although I ONLY run English (US) operating systems (and for that matter everything else such as Office is the US English version), my location is in Finland. This means I suspect that Microsoft assumes that I will want to upgrade to the Finnish version of Windows 11 and that isn't available yet, hence the delay. This probably seems far fetched to you and other readers but here's a small indication that tends to confirm it. When I go to the Upgrades section of Settings and in the section telling me (in English) that my machine is suitable for an update to Windows 11 and while there Click on "Check Device Specifications", it sends me (**from an English language page in an English language OS**) to a page in Finnish about Windows 11 including the various languages it is available in. (It's something that has led me on occasion to say that my location is somewhere else, as it drives me mad having to change defaults when adding programs/apps, but that means having to set a mass of defaults - such as date format; 24 hour clock etc. - manually, so these days I can't be bothered) Sometimes I wonder if Microsoft is out to get me. My previous Asus Zenbook has a i7 7xxx processor so isn't on MS's list. So I can't play with Win 11 on a machine I nowadays don't use but which if it had a low-powered 8xxxx processor would be fine. My wife has a i7 8xxxx processor on a machine that therefore would upgrade but she refuses point blank to risk existing programs. Now this ....
@SkyPerspective
@SkyPerspective 2 года назад
@@MikeWal2 I can understand how you feel. 😅 I am sure your update will come in time. I suspect with the sheer volume of Windows Machines to upgrade to Windows 11, Microsoft will need to slowly release it over a few months so as not to overload their update servers. According to tech advisor ( www.techadvisor.com/news/windows/windows-11-3805403/ ) it will be over the a few months throughout the first half of 2022. It might be better if you keep your location settings consistent and accurately reflecting your location Finland so it doesn't confuses Windows update system, or worse still drop off their radar. To me Windows 11 is just a pretty UI enhancement, perhaps with better security patches that does not really impact me that much. This is why I didn't upgrade until Feb even through I receives the offer to update back in Nov.

@@SkyPerspective Good point about not confusing the Windows Upgrade system by changing my Location now and thus perhaps missing the window where US Location machines were offered the upgrade. These days I’m too lazy to make the effort … [I also have plans to convert yet another machine to Chromebook now that there’s an official Google way to do that - it looks like I’m too lazy for that any time soon too …])

do you have issue with asus recommended power mode is missing after reinstall win 10 pro?
@SkyPerspective
@SkyPerspective 2 года назад
I don't have an issue not having Asus Power control app after I upgraded to Windows 11. Battery power is never an issue with how I use my Zenbook Duo. When my Zenbook is not "docked" to my Dell S2722DC monitor (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M97wwlmamtA.html) for charging, I have no problem using it on battery for 1 to 2 days on the go. When I use more battery intense software like video editing, and driving 2 external monitors, it's usually plugged in. So I never have the need to worry about battery running low. Hope this helps.

As this laptop screen is Matt finished the don't see bright colors on this screen. How to fix this screen resolution for vibrant color. Please suggest thanks
@SkyPerspective
@SkyPerspective 2 года назад
Hi ksn murthy, laptop screens are normal not as vibrant because they need to be made compact and portable. What I would suggest is to plug it in to a good external monitor if you need to do graphics work or good portable monitor. I personally don't have an issue doing my minor video editing on this laptop screen. This laptop has thunderbolt which we can use to connect to an external graphics processors for graphics intense use cases too. Hope these suggestions help.

@@ksnmurthy4476 The only setting that might affect this is night mode or night light where the screens reduces blue light. Other than that I am not sure. Maybe someone else who knows better then me can comment when they see this.

Are you able to tell us about the microSD card slot? Specifically - when you insert a card, does it sit flush and completely in the machine? Or does it stick out a little bit? Thanks for sharing!
@SkyPerspective
@SkyPerspective 2 года назад
Hi Dave, the SD Card will stick out slightly, maybe 1-2mm. It's not a problem having the SD Card in the slot while keeping the laptop in the leather case that comes with this laptop. The SD card slot is the spring-loaded type. We push the SD card in and the spring will latch on to it, and we push it again, the spring will push the SD Card out. Hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need to see it, I can make a quick RU-vid shorts on it.
@davelahoud1256
@davelahoud1256 2 года назад
@@SkyPerspective Thank you for sharing and answering with detail! Yes please - a RU-vid short to show this would help heaps. There's no images or videos showing that card slot in use anywhere on the net. I plan on either using that microSD slot permanently, or buying an M.2 to microSD card adapter and installing it in the free slot internally.

They are both very powerful laptops. It depends on your use case. If you do video editing and gaming or multi-task a lot, go with Zenbook Duo because there is option to buy it with the MX450 graphic card. Del XPS 2in1 is great for saving spacing on our table top like this ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lMLpNiGs4yk.html ) and it's designed for portability. It's "tablet" form factor is very good for doing on-screen drawing and illustration which the Zenbook duo could not do even with it's stylus. Hope this helps.

Kindly tell me can I edit 4k videos smoothly on i7 14inch and 2gb graphics card version?
@SkyPerspective
@SkyPerspective 2 года назад
Hi SHOEAB AHMAD , yes it can do 4K editing, but will be a bit slow (1 to 2 sec lag) depending on the video editing software you use. I record all of my video clips in 4K and edit them on HitFilm Express, export as FHD to upload to RU-vid, and I do this editing with my Dell QHD monitor ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M97wwlmamtA.html ). This Asus Zenbook Duo copes quite well running the QHD monitor and editing the 4K clips. During editing time, when scrubbing through videos, you might need to wait 1 or 2 second for it to catch up. It will catch up eventually. So sometimes I use Windows Video Player to find and scrub through those clips before loading them into HitFilm to edit. No lag when scrubbing on Windows Video Player. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

EDIT: Nevermind bro... I've just watched your video about Dell Monitor and you spoke about the USB-C charging. Thx man!! About what you spoke of USB-C of your Monitor to charge your Zenbook. But that is the question ... Does the Adapter of Dell can manege all the power that Zenbook needs? I have a Zephyrus Duo, that expend a lot of energy, 'cause it's a gamer laptop. My adapter it's a 280W and I know that your zenbook needs at least 120W, isn't i? In USB-C the maximum chargering is up to 100W. You had got a nice idea that did not go on my mind to use only one wire to charge and display the video. NOICE!!!

things are not built to last these days. i cant understand why build a great working machine with soldered ram, graphics card and processor its upgrade ability to me is very poor for the days of tech that we live in. if it overheats it means reballing components or buy a new complete motherboard. when if they changed these soldered to cards and ram etc it would of been a fantastic bit of kit.

*Weird and bad exterior color is ONLY reason I decided not to get the 15 inch Zenbook Pro Duo and instead opted for the 14-inch one because of its charcoal black color, which closest to black that I like the most. For the life of me I do not f_cking understand why manufacturers make nice products and then f_ck up the whole thing by choosing the WORST colors. The UX582 has a terrible terrible exterior color. It's disgusting actually. I don't even know what exactly the f_cking color is... Green? Blue? Cyan? It's just an ugly color whatever it is.*
