So you are the guy that my rep from ASUS CampusLife sent a laptop to and not me. Well...I am very happy it was you. Top notch production and great insight. haha. Didn't think I knew that huh. He should be sending the prime soon too. If you're Done with it haha!
Thought I would scroll all the way down and find your first video uploaded to RU-vid! And I must say I am very impressed on well you started out! Good Job Marques! ✌🏽
Great review, nice calm voice, good shots of the notebook. The review could've used a little bit more in depth information about the notebook itself, but it was good overall.
I always seem to find myself looking up reviews for the ultra book i already have because I am so satisfied with the product. Plugged in, this thing is able to play even high end games (such as space engineers) on low settings. On the move, it is the equal most portable laptop i have ever seen, and it runs windows to boot! Since this video came out they have fixed the track pad issue for this laptop. New laptops of this model no longer come with pre-installed software other than windows. Which is.. AWESOME
At this stage I would get a different laptop. Although the Zenbook is nice looking it is a bit outdated for 2016. Also I would beware buying a laptop that old due to the potential of the original owner selling a laptop that may be about to break. My old Zenbook has failed me now. It did so in a catastrophic way too. A component inside the circuit bored started leaking current into the body of the laptop; causing a potential difference between the casing and the touch screen. Touching the touch screen with one hand and the casing with another would cause the touch screen to play up; effectively rendering it unusable.
Another great video. I also noticed that mostly all PC laptops have absolutely dreadful trackpads. But other then that I think ultrabooks are pretty beast. You should review the dell xps 17 if you ever get a chance too. ;)
I’ve had this laptop since late 2012. It’s held up fine, but its age is starting to show. The keys have never been super sensitive and that’s gotten worse with time. As for the trackpad, for me it’s always been ok, but like he mentioned, it’s not perfect. Recently, the up and down arrow keys have just stopped working altogether. It’s not a big problem, but it is something worth mentioning. In its present condition, I’d give it a 3/5.
I really just love the build of Asus products, they really are something else! Did you hear the rumor that Google has teamed up with Asus to make a Nexus tablet? I really hope the rumor is true!
You know, I don't really care about this notebook, but I watched this video cause you are both professional and entertaining!! Thumbs up!! Greetings from Italy :)
This looks awesome. The trackpad might be a deal breaker. I once returned a gateway laptop because the buttons below the pad did not press well. The name of this machine should be easier to say. Something simple that rolls off the tongue.
Asus is really after my money these days. Got myself a Asus laptop, I have been drooling over the Asus Transformer Prime for way too long and i kinda want the Asus Padfone..
what's with the subliminal messaging in all of your videos? :P great reviews and super cool way to present your ideas! I loved the ninja droid thinggy in the ultrabooks explanation thumbs up!
my trackpad is also really bad on w7. when using ubuntu, it got a lot more sensitive and simply AWSOME!!! a fw update might be needed on more w7 machines then...
Win 8 was built to bridge the gap between mobile OS(Windows Phone 7-8) and pc and thats the reason why touchscreen is important. It is optimised primarily for gestures But you know i will still stick to my win7 on pc and also on my laptop. (WINDOWS 8 TOUCHSCREEN TABLETS (LIKE SURFACE RT,8) ARE EXPENSIVE!!)
marquesbrownlee did u download the latest drivers? Supposedly they address/fix the touchpad issues. Knowing u, I'm sure it's done; anyway keep up the damn good work!
Question, do you use a dolly for your shots or do you have an awesome indy solution for that? And, How'd you get the shot at 1:55 ? And even more curious, how the hell did you get the shot at 3:08!? I love your cinematography dude, I can imagine how much time you put into lighting it, and setting up tracks and stuff for each shot.
@GiovanniSicarioGN Errrrrr its a notebook mate? Apple never invented it. They just made it thinner? Its just common sense that all notebooks will become thinner as technology progresses.
Such a professional job you do on these reviews! Even if one is not in the market for a device like this, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos about any of them and your completely up-front honest opinions.
Why is everyone saying that he should have gotten a MacBook Air? He already has a Mac mini, so he has the best of both worlds. Also, what if Windows suits his needs more than Mac?
Gmonstt it kinda does lol you wanna make sure youre saying words correctly when you're putting up something the public can scrutanized. @jonas was right , the company's name is pronounced Ah-soos not ae-sus
That would be NO problem at all for this ultrabook. I think this one actually has a 500GB hard drive, so that's about the same as the most desktop pc's.
Hey Marcus! I have a MBP and I'm a big fan of the mac OS. This looks sexy though. Which do you think is nicer to use? Thanks! Oh and how many GB can this thing store up to?
If you're doing a graphical design course get a 15 inch Macbook Pro, and wait for the new Ivy Bridge chipsets in this years. Hardware in the Airs is shite, I use this years 27" iMac and the 15" Pro, doing Architecture :)
Thats a nice looking computer. But I don't think I could go back to windows. And a poor trackpad would drive me insane. I love my macbook pro's trackpad.
well i have it, not the 2nd gen i5 verson like he has tho mines a 3rd gen i7 and its held up really good, well ab the trackpad... mine broke, but i still love it bc of the touch screen, its still alive after 11 years incredible product. apple user say that ur WiNdoWs laptop cant be open by one handed, well u can now.
Hey Marques, do you know when the next gen Zenbook will be coming out? Q4 maybe? Cause I heard the next gen will have a better trackpad, flexless keyboard and a backlit keyboard.
