Unironically fantastic comment. We are of course all here to enjoy extra info, details and nitpicking about this product. But you summarize perfectly and bring attention back to the important bigger picture, thank you.
Yeah, but most mobile games, and many regular apps, still only support 60hz/fps, despite all the 120hz mobile game lists online, which really doesn't make this phone worth it.
@@netnomad47 the Zenfone 9 only offered 2 years on both os and security updates. I kept my last phone for 5 years before upgrading do looks like I'm stuck with Google or Samsung for now, very sad 😔
I feel like OS updates have become less and less of a selling point over time. I had the same initial reaction as you, but as I thought about it, when was the last time Google introduced a new feature that impacted my experience? Usually when they do, it's something negative and Samsung had to correct it in OneUI. This isn't like the Oreo days when a lot of new things were being added. Android versions are pretty stable these days and most of what changes is behind the scenes.
@@wilc So what exactly do you do on your phone that requires the bleeding edge Android with its 5 minor changes Google makes to it every year??? Last time I checked, there is very little difference to user experience between Android 10 and 13, the only argument here is if Google brings something big like Native Desktop Mode to Android 14 which would be a HUGE feature.
As a former Zenzone 9 user, The camera lens not being aligned with each other defeats the whole design of the body. You need a case that adds bulk but fixes the lens alignment and the bezel is horrible. I wasn't happy with the camera quality and sold mine after finding out it only had 2 years of software support. I bought an S23 and overall I'm very happy. Only thing I miss on the Zenfone is the battery life (can easily go a day and a half on a single charge) and side fingerprint sensor.
I'm waiting for Pixel 8 & check out some comparisons between Zenfone 10, Galaxy S23, & Pixel 8. So far, the S23 seems like an overall better package, especially with the cameras & image post-processing. I'm hoping Pixel 8 will blow things out of the water, however I'm also concerned about overheating issues their Tensor G3 chipset, since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset does not overheat on the S23 (and I'm guessing also on Zenfone 10).
I am also waiting for the Pixel 8. I am quite happy with Zenfone 8, but its getting hot lately. So, I am a bit sceptical about the Zenfone 10. But I will prefer a phone with stock Android.
With the amount of bloatware from Samsung and no headphone jack, how is the Samsung the better package? Current Samsung s10e User here. The last good phone they made
@@flatmotion1 i'm also using s10e here. got an s23 recently and had to return it - just doesn't feel good in the hand. i wish small phones weren't such a niche market! hoping i can test out a zf10 to see if it feels good with one-handed use.
It amazes me that all manufacturers haven't gone to side mounted FP sensors. They are faster, great for left or right handed and cheaper than everything other type. I don't get it.
Well them removing autofocus will be a deal breaker for most. So i expect it to sale less then the 9 which means it will probably get the 🪓. I wonder what the logic behind getting rid of autofocus was.
Asus MAx Pro M1 is a beast. 5 years down the line, still delivers one of the best daily performance. Its a power bank with all features of a smartphone.
I know, right??? Personally I would say sacrifice the cameras a bit too as well for a further decrease in price. I would instantly buy a small, headphone jacked, midrange chipset phone. If noone else is going to do it, then yes, I would love for asus themselves to offer a cheaper version, I like your idea alot.
Yep with dimensity 8100 this phone will be still a beast and still be cheaper This device screams premium even with Lite version ❤ hopefully they release one.
Am I the only one who thinks ASUS is a total crap? I bought Asus 8 four times, because I needed the call recording feature and the 3mm-jack which no other phone offered. All four times the phone kept turning itself off randomly with my headset in, no matter what. I spent literally months trying to fix it (1000x re-installations, warranty repairs, replacements etc.). Then, I bought the brand new ASUS 9 and from the very begining calling over the headset was a disaster, I sent it in for ASUS warranty repair after a month and they told me that it was my fault, that the 3.5 mm jack and the USD port was corroded therefore the mike was crackling! On a 68 IP phone! ASUS said the warranty does never cover any water damage even though the phone is waterproof! They said my brand new phone, which I had bought a few weeks ago, had corroded ports and I was to blame! (I had never immersed the phone in water like you did in your video) What a joke ASUS service is! Never again. Now I bought Samsung Galaxy S23 (had to pay for special installation od the call recording feature and the 3.5 mm jack-USB adapter) but I am happy, not problems whatsover, finally a phone that is reliable.
I see how these phones say their phone is one of brightest in numbers or whatever, but the actual thing comes to is when how bright the screen when the brightness is lower than 1/4 or 1/3 because once it is close to the middle of the bar. The phone starts to heat up because of more battery consumption.
@@viyusavery248 if you look at their website, they're pretty detailed, at least way more than most smartphone reviewers. would like to hear which other reviewer you like or recommend
I feel like the Zenfone 10 is where the series is beginning to plateau the Sony IMX766 as the main camera sensor feels outdated for a 2023 flagship, yet there's not enough space to fit in newer sensors like the IMX888 (Sony Xperia 1 V) or IMX890 (Oppo N2 Flip) Not to mention Asus was forced to use the ROG Phone 7's ultrawide & selfie cam sensors as internim because Sony isnt making the Zenfone 9's UW & selfie sensors anymore, so the 10's UW and selfie perform worse than the 9's In order for the Zenfone 11 to be able to move forward with new camera sensors for all 3 cameras, I think they'll need to do one of these things: * Somehow engineer a much smaller gimbal solution for the main cam * Reduce battery size * *Slightly* enlarge the 11, even moving to a 6 inch screen should still keep the 11 less than 7cm wide
This is a very good and detailed review. Good thing the thumbnail made me watch this video. You point the important factors to know about this phone straightforwardly. I'm deciding between S23 and Zenfone 10. 16GB ram / 512GB is so hard to ignore. But Samsung's software is still better than Zenfone 10. :(
I wish it has telephoto camera and higher brightness level (500 nits with manual slider, and 1500 nits for adaptive brightness). The bezel also needs to be much thinner!
He got the auto brightness stats wrong . He said peak brightness is 800 nits, it's actually around 1,100 nits . Normal manual brightness is similar to a pixel 7, although a pixel 7s display brightness isn't going to burn your retinas
Google needs to add VOLUME MIXER/Samsung Sound Assistant. This let's you listen to at least 2 sound sources at once. This is the only reason I still use Samsung s10e. 😊
vivo x90 pro or Samsung s23 which is better, camera is main priority and one more thing selfie camera and portrait and Bokeh please suggest sir .. thanks or any another suggestion
after owning the Zenfone 5, im done with Asus. they are lazy when it comes to updates. i got only 1 OS major update. they are sooo lazy they wont even release VOLTE and wifi calling enabling updates when the phone hardware supports it. they clearly under estimate brand loyalty. i even owned the Zenfone 2 and 2 other tablets, recommended asus phones to family and friends. but no more.
The downgrade of the Asus Zenfone 10 is that there's no autofocus on the ultrawide cam & selfie cam. Btw, we need a review of the Samsung Galaxy F54 5g.
I would have have it with more battery, the FM tuner and -1mm width, changed the camera lenses focal lengths to 15mm and 35mm. I like the colors available, is tempting.
is there my asus app available? how its work? is the my asus app work like my asus on asus notebooks ? that able to set battery charge to 100℅, 80℅ or 60℅?
@Reggy9 if more manufacturers made truly compact phones with a headphone jack. And maybe also at different price levels (with corresponding lesser camera, chipset, etc, specs) - so that consumers had more choice... Maybe then I would agree. But until then Zenfone is king of the niche! Also I personally find it beautiful. So it's absolutely attractive in many ways.
@@billieguitarUnfortunately you forgot about the srsly not good update support. 2 years for a 800 bucks and more phone is ridiculous. Same with Motorola flagship phones for example. I expect a bit more than that, if they want us customers to open our wallets. 🤷 I wouldn't mind more compact phones either btw.! No idea why companies are selling Smartphones almost as big as tablets nowadays.
Why is going on with GSM Arena these days? Saying it's a good camera when absolutely every other reviewer out there is saying that the camera isn't good enough, that it's the weakest part of the phone & that it's nowhere near flagship level!
They arent the best cameras, that's a sure thing. But are they bad though? Also I think this video was fair, it pointed out issues like oevrsaturated colors and oversharoening. Which by the way touches on another subject, how modern phone camera sensors arent much different in the amount and quality if information they capture. How each manufacturer chooses to tune the lately overall extremely strong processing however changes the final look and feel of a picture A LOT. And instead of going for color/gamma accuracy, manufacturers strive for striking, eye catching, attention grabbing, bold. Fake clarity, "enhanced" colors, PERCIEVED detail. And because that is deviating completely from objective, scientific quality and accuracy - there is an artistic element to how manufacturers tune that processing. So as strange as it is, it's nowadays NORMAL to NOT have a verifiable consensus on which phone camera is *actually technically* the "best". Differently tuned processing will be subjectively differently pleasing to each person!!! And people, including me, who are used to professional camera equipment and editing raw data themselves dislike MOST modern phone camera results. They are too obviously artificial.
@@billieguitarYes they are bad. It's acceptable for a budget range phone but not flagship pricing. As another reviewer put it, they're years in development behind Samsung & Apple but charging the same prices. GSM Arena used to be very thorough but now does a McDonald's drive thru version of reviews. It seems to be all a one-man band now, so maybe that's the reason? I don't know. Other reviewers just do a much better job these days. GSM reviewed a S21 a few years ago. Said the battery life was very good. I bought one. Battery life was terrible. Went on the Web & thousands of people were similarly complaining of awful S21 battery life. It's like GSM tests have just become automated & no real-life measurements are taken.
@frankmcelhill9379 I guess you had different expectations from GSM. Their main thing is their website which is like a well documented index for phone specs and kinda there with related review and price scraping. Consumer-focused real-life, scenario and usage based testing has never really been their forte or focus as far as I've followed their path. They seem to draw conclusions based off specs more than anything else. Which isn't wrong to do, just has to be taken with a grain of salt because virtually nobody uses their phone in the exact same way all the time and further, in line with what specs would suggest.
It's hard to find alternative charging cable for Zenfone 10 that support Asus Hyper Charge. I've try to contact Anker, Aukey, Ugreen, Baseus, Uneed and Kiip. They're not sure if their cable is support Asus Hypercharge. Any one in here have same issu? Or anyone has find the alternative cable?
I just read somewhere that it should drive regular small impedance earphones no problem but it doesn't have anything special that would be powerful enough to drive 150 ohm headphones and above. IE300 should be fine
