@@corsinivideos hmm, it's practically an identical size, and £850 with £100 cashback for the S23 isn't cheaper than £750 with £50 preorder discount here. IMO this has a lot more character than the S23 too, although I get that the S23 has other things going for it instead
If I hadn't bought an S23 Ultra in February, I would have bought the Asus Zenfone 10 right away. The S23 Ultra is a super cool device but then too big. But since I'm not someone who constantly changes devices, I'll be using the S23U for a few years now. My next device will definitely be a Zenfone 12 or 13. I hope that this series of devices will still be around in 2-3 years.
Looks decent and love stock Android being selectable plus the overall size. Hopefully they'll fix the camera issues quickly. Another year of OS and security updates wouldn't go amiss. Nice to have a case included, but I usually buy Spiegen anyway
i hope they would really make a compact but more affordable mid range line up. 300-400 dollars, using snapd 7 series, one good cam, no wireless charger. That's enough for my necessities.
I was waiting for this!!! 🤩 Totally smashing the piggy bank this time.. Sadly, they should have gone for the LTPO display instead, first because it'll further improve the battery life, second, because I don't think many people will play a 144hz game on such a tiny screen. Well maybe a controller like the Backbone, but there isn't enough game that support that refresh rate either.
I don't see how the price for Z10 is justifies over 9. I'm really happy with 9 and might only switch to Nothing 2 for the fun of the community if it turns out well.
@@Ssssyyyyyyyyyy Well as you said, it is for the fun of the community, since it might be about the same price tier. I'm waiting for the full review of the Phone (2) but in terms of specs and size my preference goes to the Z10.
Been using the Zenfone 8 as my daily for about a year now. No major complaints other than the disappointing battery health, perhaps due to inefficient charging circuitry my battery capacity has dropped to 70% of stock in one years time. Having to continously charge this phone now adays.
It isn't mentioned in the full specs that were update today. So doesn't seem like they've added this. The full specs also mention USB-C 2.0, that must be a mistake right?
As they are maintaining the 5.9-inch, I would love a device of 6.3-4 inches with a big 5000mAh battery, a little more performance, and a better camera.
Man if Asus ever releases a Zenphone 10 Plus model with a 6.5in+ screen and 5000mah+ battery then I'm buying for sure. Maybe 65 watt fast charging as well? A guy can dream😂
Am I the only one who wished during the camera section, Uncle Spurty skipped talking about how the camera worked during those shots (we can see) and instead, just commented on what he was doing while taking those shots? "Here's an Espresso Martini, it was 10pm and I was obviously slurring my words when I ordered an Eastbourne Marvelous Larger. It tasted like shit, but perked me right up so we went on to the next overpriced poncy club passing for a bar, and here you see a Stella as I couldn't read the labels on the taps. Here's a shot of some buildings and shit the next morning, and of course the sun's out for the first time in months while I've got a raging hangover and contemplating ending it all by diving into the canal and testing the phone's waterproof." Etc etc
I'm glad they still maintains the 5.9 inch size. Would love to get this phone if it ever gets a local release in my region, but already got myself an S23. With phones getting bigger and bigger these days, I think I can accept the 2 years OS update as a compromise.
@@pepe_marroquinhe's saying the battery is better on the Zen10. But my gripe with the Zen is that it's still using old tech for the usb port - only 2.0 instead of 3.2! And no sd card slot like the Sony 1 V. But it does have the new WiFi 7 that nobody mentions. How many phones have that?! And loads of RAM!!
Hi Garrett, I have a question: Does the Zenfone 9 has the feature to capture the screen shot with the full-page at once? I used to have android phones, but they can not make the full screen shot at once. I am using the Apple Mini 13 and it has this SUPER feature, but the phone keep slip out of my hand and I don't like the sharp edges and now the Zenfone 10 came out. I like the small size phones that not slippery and i don't like to use the protection case. The Zenfone 10 seems to have those things that caught my interest. It would be nice to get your answer :). Thank you.
@@Kopatator👍I still miss my G4 & v20 (still works, but turned into a snail 🐌 at the 3 year mark!) so onto a ZTE Axon 10 Pro (only 1 update? WTF 😒), 2020 Moto G power and presently a Google Pixel 6a that I 💕 absolutely Love! Like this soon to be released device as well!
@@duderRechthattwo years is a bummer for sure. Should be 4 updates like everyone else. 4 years for a phone is good enough before it starts getting outdated. But at least you get 3 years of security updates I guess 🤷
I'm only disappointed by the lack of updates, I really hope the custom ROM community ends up liking these compact zenfones so that we can keep them around for longer! Great video as always, I was waiting for your review ;)
I have the Asus Zenfone 9 for about 5 months now and I love it very much. Everything about it ia excellent. My only gripe is probably the software experience. It needs more polish.
I'm so jealous you're in Europe. I'm waiting for this bad boy to release in the US but that won't be until end of Q3. Oh well, gotta be patient until then. I have the Z9 and this is so anticipated. Love what they improved and kept (the size). The only thing I wish they had changed is the battery size. I read rumors of a 5000mah battery and coupled with the SD 8gen2, the battery life would've been amazing. But 4300mah is good too. Also, that bottom bezel definitely looks thicker than I saw on the renders but still excited to pick this up. Hope they have the wireless buds preorder bonus like they did with the Z9!
Better with S23 one ui ..Zen camera processor takes double looking pictures when items move , skin tones make you look zombie dead. S23 unbeatable right now all departments
That price with those massive chins; no thanks. I know it is silly to go on looks but when I shell out that kind of money I want something that looks nice and sleek.
Battery life is paramount for me, and having the headphone jack and IP68 rating is just awesome too. My phones get replaced every 3-4 years so that doesn't bother me, and the cameras are the least important feature of a phone for me.
But you have some great cameras with this phone. Can't go wrong with it. I agree 3 years then upgrading to a newer phone. So the 2 years of OS updates isn't a deal breaker for me either.
In the past not having the security stay updated for more than two years was a deal breaker for me with the zenphones. It seems I've got no excuse now aside from the price to take the plunge now but I think it's great to support a company providing a flagship with the features many of us can only find in various budget phones.
@@evgenidimitrov2639 all you sais works for any major phone, "punch hole" "dual camera" some even have half of the phone as the camera...., "sd card slot" nearly no one has one, "slow charging" look at apple/google/samsung with even slower charging
@@evgenidimitrov26391080P and hole punch cam are literally industry standard right now. Also, Xiaomi doesn't sell phones in the U.S., nor do several other Chinese brands, so for me this is actually the only option that fits my wants and needs to replace my Pixel 4a
Had the last two Zenfones myself. What i'm missing is the improvement over the ZF9. It literally looks the same and most seems to be the same. Ok it has wireless charging and the new SD now, but otherwise? Or am i missing something. I'd call it more Zenfone 9 V2 ... Is the back the same material as on the 9? Because that got a pretty used look over time on everyone's device i know... @Tech Spurt
TBF there's a lot to love about the ZF9. You wouldn't want to reinvent the wheel with this phone when so much of it has been done right. The new display also is nice to use in broad daylight.
This ZF10 is like a ZF9 upgraded. Actually Asus is launching the Asus ZF10 with the same price as ZF9, so I think that is a great movement. Improve the features, and keep the same price. Other smartphone vendors are increasing the prices every year with each new release.
Watching this on my Zenfone 9. Not that big of an upgrade so I'm so glad I bought it a year ago, but considering the Zenfone 9 is by far the best "allrounder" phone on the market, the zen 10 is still gonna be the best phone on the market :D
@@svilenzlatanov6170 The decision for me was S22 vs Zenfone 9 so it was incredibly easy for me (S22 in Europe didn't even have the Snapdragon and terrible battery life). But even today it would be a no-brainer. I hate the One-UI or how they are calling it now, I don't like display fingerprintsensors (you could say I hate them :D), I want the bigger battery and I truly want a headphone jack.
Pity they downgraded the camera sensors so much compared to the 9. Especially dropping AF on the front and ultra wide sensors. Those are kinda big nerfs.
Nice phone but bigger than the S23 and more expensive with a worse display and no optical zoom. Cant really see why anyone would get this over s23 which can now be found significantly cheaper too.
I was watching the event now!!!😅 thanks for the information about software updates as asus didn't say anything at the event; it's still bad to be two but at least it's four security.
I bought my ZenFone 8, brand new at like £450. Its easily the worst phone I've ever used. The case was just flimsy, slippery dog crap with a lip opening encouraging screen breakage at volume keys. The screen lock has NEVER, NEVER!!! worked. It's screen burned in after a year. Wi-fi and LTE, absolutely awful from day one. It's gestures are also limited. Fingerprint scanner WON'T work with a glass protector. It's just infuriating to use. Please be wary, unless they solved some serious gremlins. But awesome video, you do kinda sell it honestly! Thanks
Almost bought the 9 last year. At the last minute changed to the Pixel. It could have been perfect, but can't forgive the camera quality, that your review just confirmed.
They simply cannot fit a larger camera sensor in there, which is why I guess they've kept the same one, as they're refusing to compromise on the size - which is a good thing I think! But, I did exactly the same last year and went Pixel....if only Google made a Pixel mini!!
@@Thomas-wx7uf The trouble with gcam ports is that there is always a delay between pressing the shutter and it actually capturing the image (with the HDR stacking). At least as far as I am aware/have tried. The process is basically instant on a pixel or iPhone.
I got stuck with the Zenfone 8 when it kept unlocking in my pocket, as Asus only warranty cover software bugs for 14 days after purchase. I gave them a second chance with Zenfone 9 but it misbehaved on day 13 so I had no choice but to return it. Such a shame their position on software/firmware ineptitude is to walk away after 14 days, as the hardware is lovely. I will not risk another Asus device until they change their stance.
As a compact phone fan, this seems almost perfect for me. If it only had an expandable storage via micro SD card, it could've been perfect. The camera is a bit meh, but dependable enough. The only phone that maybe will get the crown for me is the Xperia 5 V, can't wait for is reveal! Thanks again uncle spurt for this review, been waiting for this one for some time!🎉
@@curon- my Google cloud account is full and don't want to pay monthly. Backing up to a hard drive for the last 2 years and it's frustrating. If you have any advice, I'd like to hear ☺️
According to the other review I saw (GSMA..) there's no auto focus this year on 1 or two og the main cameras. Seems weird. Can they software update that? I wouldn't think so. Like the phone but would only try the 5.9" screen if I could afford to risk it. £300 - 400 will be my limit to replace my excellent Poco F2 Pro when I have spare funds.
I had and loved the Zenfone 8, skipped the ZF9, now I have an S23 Ultra which I just love - except its enormous dimensions, but hey, buy pants with deeper pockets! ;))
@@mhl1403 From the early reviews, it would appear not. But I'm hoping it will be good _enough_. Maybe someone will sort a GCam mod for it at some point. Bezels aren't quite as uniform as on the Pixel 5 either.
@@mhl1403I also had a pixel 5 then replaced it with a Zenfone 9 almost 3 months ago and photos cannot compare to Pixel. They are not bad but nothing special compared to the pixel which takes always great shots. But Zenfone videos are better in my opinion, much smoother and much more stabilized.
@@Shouldhavenotshouldof Zenfone is narrower so it's easier to hold it with one hand, but is also heavier than Pixel 5. Overall I prefer the ZF form factor but I also miss the thinness and lightness of P5, not to talk about the corners optimization.
Skinny bezels? you kidding, compare with galaxy s22-23, front camera thick. Battery and camera not improved, only change cpu and wireless charging. Price realy big and bad. Now i can buy s 23 lower price and it be better deal, design better, camera better, battery compareble, no 3.5, yes its bad.
I loved the ZenFone 9, and I adored this ZenFone 10. I think yes, it is an all rounder compact flagship King 👑 Happy this time they added wireless charging, a more efficient battery life due to a more efficient chipset, the top notch SD 8Gen2, so cool 😎 And yay they got the 512 GB storage on the 16 GB Ram, owesome specs providing top tear seamless performance! With the Gimbal v.2, I would feel like a pro shooting a video footage while moving around! Happy with the side selfie camera punch, in my opinion a better position for watching a full screen video. I see it as more practical than just having the symmetrical look of a centered selfie camera punch. I am also a big fan of the practical flat display! Doesn't matter the LPTO 2, as logically it might consume more battery for constantly switching back and forth between the different frequencies Hz. The overall compact size is a breaze nowadays! And the headphone jack, it's ever appreciated 😊 You get the charger, and the USB-C to USB-C in the box. You also get a protective case. I am hoping that the Software Experience and the Camera department will be up to my expectations! To wrap up, I think it's the perfect phone for me, would keep it at least for 4 years and might go even beyond 🎉 Love this ASUS ZenFone 10, already pre-ordered the Black 16/512 variant, and can't wait to receive it! Always love your reviews and like the idea of photographing your sweet daughter along ❤
Just got the s23+. Wanted the s23 because the size is really nice but got the plus for more battery. The Zenfone lineup looks really nice especially considering it having a headphone jack as well.
For around 700 green ones this is one delightfully loaded package. From the packaging to the size to the reactions to being fingered I would say this is one of the best phones of the year. A flagship with a headphone jack? This phone is the shishhhhh!👌👌👌👌👌👌
The major selling point to me is software support. That's where my money goes. I like this Asus phone, but 2 years support is a no go for me...at least the double. It's a shame though, looks like a really nice phone.
As a famous person I'm sure they will listen to you i hope that you tell them that ZenFone 11 ultra looks like sh** with all due respect ZenFone 10 is fantastic if the cameras were a little bit better it would be a masterpiece ZenFone 10 is the perfect phone to me
Why in hell would they release a great phone with no autofocus, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of... Is it a thing we can get in an update or is it purely hardware?

Thank god, something to replace my pixel 4a. Although this doesn't seem to be quiet as palm-able 4a it is close enough. It'll be cool to have a compact flagship.
2:09 You can bang on about the polycarbonate back & the improved battery life for as long as you like, but we all know it's going to be the first to die when sent on an away mission...
Sorry but there's no way I'm buying a flagship phone that only gives 2 years of OS updates when Google and Samsung have midrange phones that are offer 3 years of OS updates (and Samsung flagships offer 4 years of OS updates). This phone would have to blow the other flagships out of the water with it's hardware, and it doesn't
It's almost like hardware updates actually don't really make much of a difference on phones but ok. You stick with your 4 year updates ending 2 years early because phone companies never keep their word.
@@narutouzumaki4710 What? You're living in 2020 , bro. Samsung have been supporting phones with 5 years of OS updates since the Galaxy S21 series. When people talk for the sake of talking 😂.
