You're welcome. You can use a suction cup tool for smartphones to help you pull up and get leverage to insert your pry tool after you heat the back up. Once you take the back off, you will need to remove the motherboard giving you access to the flex cable for the buttons. Then you can gently pry it off from the frame (its held on with adhesive) and then the other end is inside the frame socket. It has a metal bracket holding it in which you can use a thin metal flat tool to pull it up and out. Once that flex assembly with clickers are removed (if that's what has gone bad you can replace that part at that point), you can either remove the physical buttons on the frame by pushing them inward or outward, not sure which way it is but you will be able to tell once you push slightly if it pops out or not.

You can use a hair dryer which is safer since it provides a more evenly distributed heat. You can heat it up so its hot to the touch and can always apply more heat as needed while working on prying it off.

I'm not 100% sure but they seem to be the same. I would lean toward the zenfone 7 pro back working on the zenfone 8 flip.

With water damage, you don't want to attempt to use the phone. You need to turn it off, take it apart and disconnect the battery so you don't risk shorting the parts inside. Then dry out any water, and use a small brush like a tooth brush to brush off any corrosion around chips and connectors. Then assemble to see if it will work, if not you will need to replace parts one by one (like the battery, screen, etc) to rule out which part is defective.

Hi, if you have replace the screen/fingerprint reader, make sure to backup your data and do a factory reset since sometimes it needs to be calibrated and requires factory reset for it to work. Also make sure all cables are properly attached.

Try backing up all your data and then doing a factory reset. Sometimes a factoy reset is required after installing a new fingerprint reader to register it.

It's possible the clicker of the power button has gone bad and needs a replacement power button flex cable to change it out.

Hi, no it is not necessary to replace the battery is your changing the screen. As long as you don't damage the battery when prying it off to replace the screen, you can reuse it. Just use some isopropyl alcohol and apply some to the sides of the battery and let it sit there for 30 seconds so it eats away at the adhesive under the battery making it easier to pry off.

I sent my cell phone to an authorized Asus, SMS Infocomm and they charged me for replacing the battery, claiming that according to the structure of the Z8 FLIP, as the LCD was replaced, it was also necessary to replace the battery, as the mechanisms are interconnected. @@guilhermesoliveira673 Probably because they only had display replacements with frame assemblies which came with the battery pre installed so it was a matter of them just taking the motherboard and other parts and moving it over from your assembly to the new one. Its a faster but more expensive process however its more clean since the screen is pre installed from the factory to the frame instead of a third party adhering the display to the frame.

I have the LCD that just broke and I can't see myself changing it, By curiosity how much did you pay for this LCD exchange (with the battery of course :-( ) Did you ask for and receive the old LCD but especially the battery following the repair. Because we all know that the battery over time can be changed.

Didn't want to dismantle the camera assembly because I didn't want to render the assembly useless. Plus its usually hard to find these camera assemblies to replace.

The G100 should be the same thing as the Moto G 5G Plus disassembly. Just a better processor and better cameras etc.
