For the love of god... It is not to hard to cross a ball when you have a second or two to compose yourself... You make it sound like only a few people on earth can do it. If you watch any half decent team play football you have two wingers that can whip balls in just like him. I can even do it myself. Beckham was an average player at best with some absolute football legends around him to make him look that bit better.
Not even a Utd fan but seeing Beckham out wide opening his body up to ping a long ball across to the other side of the pitch with pin point accuracy just takes you back.
wait till you see Christiano Ronaldo at the age of old man joining similar match like this.. he will be the only player that still fit like becham and play so well
Beckham is not only a wonderboy, he's a wonder human. Holy shit other footballers go fat after two months of retiring and he's just rocking as he would never stopped
If u watched Beckham Netflix documentary, Ronaldo (the ace from Brazil) has gained so much weight n out of shape. David certainly has done well to keep himself fit over the years
To be fair a lot of these guys are still in shape with cardio. I'm not much younger than them and I'm pretty sure I would be feeling it after over 10 years of not playing lol
I truly believe I'm not the only one out there who was smiling while watching throughout the whole video. It just brought back so much good memories. Thank you~
The other day Beckham was asked how this team would get on against the current Man Utd team. He said "I think we would just about win, mind you we are all in our 40's and 50's now".
Oh my goodness!!!! you'd want to have a heart of stone not to be moved by the nostalgia. I am a Wolves fan , but to see these legends in action again is just wonderful. Beckham's salute to the Stretford end when he scores is so poignant. When you see the imposters wearing the red jersey these days it is all so sad.
@@eman7282So he has provided countless direct assists for goals especially from the right wing. This excludes the assists/goals he has scored in important games from set pieces. Since when did GOALS not matter?!😂
@@Havocn15 watch the full games - not just the highlights. Beckham tried & missed so many low percentage passes which people ignore - they just glorify the few that made it. Dude was a gambler, essentially. People only talk about his wins. He was good, but def not great.
Best part is ….. he was the worst in his team 😂😂😂😂 everyone else was way better. I remember because I was mad Man U fan when I was a kid 😝 the flaky was better than beckham because he was too busy making underwear and aftershave and shagging pop stars. 😂😂😂😂
@@Mikeb1001 No, he just wouldn't have made it, Ronaldo or not. Becks, could run all day, pass the ball superbly and was an expert at free kicks. However, he had no pace, couldn't head, couldn't dribble and definitely couldn't tackle. So, if an all time Utd squad is made up of 22 players, he would not make the cut imho...you are free to think otherwise. Best was in a totally different league...well he was to everyone really : )
These legends, although age & speed catch up to them. But their class, passions, touch, chemistry, techniques & skills are never faded. Pure class shown!
Becks wasn't quite 48 here, this was from 2019. So he'd be 43/44 (not that that's much younger!) - but still in immaculate shape and passing the ball like yesteryear with ease. Unreal really :)
Arsenal fan here. Gotta admit watching that Man U team play back in the days was phenomenal what a team they had. Beckham, Yorke, Scholes, Neville, Keane, Schmeichel, Giggs, Cole… wow great memories
Class is forever. Age may have slowed them down but the technique, intention, and movement off the ball is still world class. Not just Beck's vision and long passes. Butt and Pob's touch and control, Stam, Scholesy and Irwin's aggression, Yorke and Solskjaer's movement off the ball, positioning and finishing. We were spoilt when they were in their prime.
We were. That's why watching the current United teams play really makes my blood boil. And the youngsters these days. Wow Bruno! Pogba! Some players will just never make it as true United players. I'm not buying any more shirts till I see more of the likes of Casemiro, Varane in the team.
Look at the non-stop passing and team play by these Man United legends. We finally realized that the revival of Man United will be very hard. Because there will not be so many genius footballers playing at the same era again 😢😢
These are legend and legend is LEGEND. The passes, cross, long ball everything was bang on. This is the real Manchester Utd. Today Manchester utd is wrecked. There is nothing left in it. It's such a pitty watching them. played with no hearts and no spirit.
Watching this team of United players brought back so much memories. The passion, aggressiveness and hungry shown is what lacking in the current team. Once the United jersey is on, you can sense beast mode. They might have aged but players like Scholes, Beckham, Poborsky and Yoke are still chasing and running like there’s no tomorrow. The way Beckham celebrated in the familiar no. 7 brought tears as I recollect the golden era. Miss this team so much. Thank you for putting up such a marvelous performance.
It was all u said but more than just about all of them was if u watch and notice carefully, every single player in his post had a job to do and if anyone wants to sums up the entire successful years of United 90s team notice each and every one of the players had a job to do on the post he was given ,it was not to once u did ur job excellently to go on a showing off run and get to big headed and mess it all up, sir Alexa always asked his players “do the job in ur post only and do it right,if u wanna show ur skills while doing,so be it,but if once u did it right and tried to show off unnecessarily and end up making a pig ear of it all, then u have not only been selfish and disrespectful to ur teammates, but u have demoralised the mood of ur team mate by first playing well and give the team a natural high and is space of few seconds by one wrong one move too much u punctured all player’s confidence who now has to run their backsides off to correct ur mistakes?!! 90.000 suddenly in their heads say”WHAT DICKHEAD”
It’s not just the legends I enjoy watching playing, it’s the style of play. It’s like literally watching United back in the 90s again. They make it look so simple yet so good. Definition of the United style of play that we hear thrown about loosely nowadays. Honestly Beckham could still do a job in this current squad and he’s nearly 50 lol.
David Beckham hits the ball as he had hands instead of feets. I'm from Madrid and I had the privilege of seeing him play for my team for 4 years. That Manchester United was insane: Beckham, Schmeichel, the Nevilles, Staam, Blomqvist, Giggs, Cole, Yorke, Sheringham, Solskjaer... And one of the best midfielders ever, the great Paul Scholes
Well... I just shed the manliest tears a man has ever shed xD. Wow this was incredible, a blast to the past. Man I miss 90's and 00's football so much, I'm so glad all these legends get to come together again and give us beautiful football once again. So thankful to have lived through the past 30 years of football, it has been a gift.
Crazy to watch them again. They still have that magical quality to them that I’ve never seen since - the clinical focus and determination on top of the quality - and they all had it down to the man. I didn’t know how much I missed watching that team!
My gosh. This was more entertaining than watching current players in the UCL. Beautifully played match by legends. Scholes, Dwight, and of course, Beckham stole the show.
without a doubt, the greatest match i have seen in one hell of a long time......22 world class players who've proved that age means nothing if you still have passion......
This is football! Those crosses were amazing. Beckham is beckham! Been years but still no one like him. We should get more guys like this on the field.
There's something about the movements and awareness of Yorke, Solskjaer and Sheringham in the box that are just so mesmerising to watch. I mean to watch them now again makes me appreciate even more about their craft.
Super match and superb skills still all round. This was played in 2019 20 years after the 1999 treble win David Beckham was actually 44, not that it matters as he still is and was a legend.
Really enjoyed watching this, I’m a lifelong Liverpool fan and as much as there’s no love loss whatsoever in undeniably the biggest rivalry in English football it was great to see this iconic team playing again. Still have unbelievable talent. I’m kinda glad to see United back up there as I have missed that competitiveness between us both. Becks is still a different class.
There is no denying that the Man Utd 1999 team was sublime. Here they are many if not all in their late 40s or early 50s passing with real precision. No wonder this team couldn't be beaten and won the treble.
Tell you what. Watching this lot really makes you appreciate football. Just watched this with a smile on my face from start to finish and as an Arsenal fan this team was my nemesis.
David Beckham, best ever crosser of the ball. He'd still make an impact in any squad today. They all did Fergy proud, amazing players of their time the lot of them.
You can clearly see how much they miss playing at the highest level. BM simply didn’t turn up. I know this was only for fun but becks has always kept himself super fit & I’ll never get bored of his ‘quarterback’ passing diagonally across the pitch.
My favourite team, even though they had retired from football and had not played with each other for a long time, still they click instantly together when they played. The way they bring themselves on the pitch showed how that legend bring about. Missed those times when man u was high and flying. Sadly this era man u players cant even compared to those legends in term of their passion, desire to excel and determination to win.
There's something special about these Legends matches...it's great to see the old stars play again but these games are so pure. No one out to hurt anyone, everyone is having fun, people help out when an opposition player falls down, and smiles all around. It's just love of the game and old glory which is so enteraining to watch.
Even 20 years later, the passing and crossing this 99 team does, just breathes class and confidence. I hope United get back to winning ways in the future
The passes of most of these legends are of high precision compare to most current players.... I salute you guys for bringing back old beautiful memories....
Yorke going down that field just reminded me of him tearing Arsenal up in 2001 game that essentially put Arsenal out of the league title. That was the best performance he had that day with United.
Decades have passed but the joy of watching these guys is the same. I was taken to my childhood once again. I Can almost guarantee this United team can beat the current United team by a wide margin!!!
Beckham was, without doubt, the best passer in the game. I can remember his accurate long range passes, not to mention he was very good at free kicks and crossing. His work ethic could never be questioned either, even in this game. On a final note, I noticed how all of the United legends have still kept in great shape and look pretty much the same after all these years, minus a few gray hairs here and there. Amazing to see.
Well it's really nice to see them again. Really impressed. Although not young anymore still experience is there with a flash of postings having fun I must say. Manchester United flare of babes in heart. Probably even the boss had a lot of nostalgic moments as themselves. Well done both teams to do this possible. ❤😅👍💯👏💔
This really was a legendary team. Even at 50 years old, they still look so crisp and clean. Amazing to watch all the world class players during the 90s and 2000s across a lot of the top tier leagues. Loved United as a kid at a time when futbol was still pretty much shunned in America.
Great fun to watch this game. Total dominance by United. But I must say two tackles by Stam and Scholes were ridiculous keeping in mind this was a friendly game.
That is what make them to who they are today....lose is not an option even if it just a friendly match, the desire to win still thick deep down inside they body and hearts.
Scholes’ determination and manliness in tackles makes Bruno Fernandes look like an utter sissy tbh. I believe any opposition would take to Scholes’ tackle proper (maybe with some fireworks) than wanting to face a rolling and whining Bruno. And old Scholes is worth twice as much as a current Bruno.
Oh God,, it's remain me for the 1999 UEFA Champions League final May 26, 1999. Best of the best Champion final ever. And glad to see Backham doing those kicks again..
