Sammy Davis Jr was an icon, yet celebrities lives are not their own to a degree. Very talented and as a child I was always amazed of his energy and talent. I was also amazed over the racial acceptance he had not realizing the horrible racial events that happened in his life. Thanks for sharing. I grew up watching Sammy Davis Jr in the 60's and 70's. What a sad, unfortunately story for such a talented man. I pray he's been resting in peace all these years.

I loved Sammy Davis Jr. I was Born in the Early Sixties so Growing Up during The Seventies I never Actually Was A Racist. We lived in a 50/50 Population of Flints Beecher. My Parents moved us Here from Southern California. My Dad was from Westville, OK. My Mother was Born in The Great Smoky Mountains, The Year She Was Born The Park Stole Their Property and Forced My Grandmother and Papaw Off Their Land. We moved here in Mid Michigan so my Parents Both Worked For GM Buick Division. In 1969 Flint, Michigan was The Wealthiest City In America. Then GM Left All But Two Automakers Company, It was Like a Vacuum Effect Because Everyone Left The State. Detroit, Flint, Saginaw All Four Cities are Absolutely Unable To Function even the Simplest Departments. The Tax Base Left so Did All The Tax Money The Auto Companies Along with The People. It was at That Point Saginaw has Gotten Better, Detroit, Flint have All Been In Receivership By The State Of Michigan. They Both Fought out of That Situation but They are Right back to Zero Real Tax Base because The Plants Pay Almost Zero Taxes because of The Tax Breaks Given to Them..
