Mark and David were just another pair of brothers who squabbled ,but now they are estranged, Mark didn't want to use Davids songs on the early albums. Journalism was beneficial to his song writing but the sound of his finger picking playing on the Strat is what made Dire Straits stand out.

Mark does well and thank goodness he went solo. I like how he plays country, jazz and other genres. What a pleasure

I have loved the music of Dire Straits since my first listening to them in December 1979 - However the MK albums of the past 10 years could be titled as A Cure for Insomnia, the next could be, Let Me be Your Sleep Doctor...and similar. I don't bother to listen or buy anymore of what he's producing, to me it's all sounding like the same sentimental drivel !! What would be less boring and much appreciated by Dire Straits/MK fans is a double or given the catalogue of songs available, a triple album of acoustic DS songs... Now, that would wake us up!
