I was 16 when the album Infinity came out and it was a wonderful time and when I went to a Journey concert in the 80's, Steve made that a great concert with his energy. The theme here is Neal Schon found singers that sounded like Steve Perry, he only cares about the money, he does not care about the people in the band. He of course is the reason that Steve left, twice, the sad thing is time fly's by, I am now 62, I had always hoped Steve would return at some point. Neal Schon said that would only happen at their farewell concert having the tribute band singer and Steve together. I love this youtube episode as it helps to put things into perspective.
Steve Perry's parents were Portuguese immigrants from the Azores islands. He credits his ability in singing long vowels from growing up fluent in Portuguese. Though never released, he wrote and recorded several songs in Portuguese.
