The legendary Errol Flynn was one of the biggest names during the golden age of Hollywood. Yet, beneath his public persona as an iconic movie star lies a dark truth. Undeniably, he was a man brimming with toxic masculinity and enjoying his life with the wild abandon of a Hemingway protagonist, captivating people all over the world with his reckless charms. However, there is an unknown truth that his last wife has disclosed that lurks beneath his public image, and after years of standing up for her late husband, Patrice Wymore decided to break her silence and revealed the truth behind Flynn’s downfall.

Well he suceeded in stopping the sale of baby elephants to either japan or china, can't remember which one, and he also kicked up a stink on " the charge of the light brigade" because of so many horses being killed in the film..this was before the code for animals came about and was also broken when his beloved dog died ...any man who loves animals is all right by me..❤

As a very young lad, I grew up on Errol Flynn films. I knew little about his private life. He became one of my first idols, and I don't see any reason to be disloyal to his memory. " The Adventures of Robin Hood " is still one of my very favourite films. " Why do you hate The Normans so much ?", enquired Lady Marion. " It's injustice I hate, not The Normans ," he replied. I've never forgotten that exchange between the two of them. I too, hate injustice.

Wrong - the concept is connected to patriarchy and doesn't posit any essential characteristics about men or women like your backwards misunderstanding does. It's an overt politically reactionary attitude which aims to preserve gender roles and the gender binary which oppresses women and femme presenting or gender nonconforming people. The fictional "toxic femininity" is only the mirror image of toxic masculinity, since it aims to preserve the same to the detriment of women or femme presenting people. It does not oppress men because that's not possible under patriarchy - hence why actively upholding it is 'toxic'. You don't have to be a woman to understand this concept - you just have to take responsibility for yourself.
@LordOfLight

@aliannarodriguez1581

I think it refers to a particular type of behavior that has been excused in the past as being masculine behavior. Bullying, threatening, arrogance, being a bastard to people. Referring to toxic masculinity is a way to separate this kind of behavior from the positive aspects of masculinity, such as strength, protectiveness, bravery. I don’t know whether Flynn qualifies or not, but I think I did read somewhere about even his male co-stars complaining about bullying.

@aliannarodriguez1581
@aliannarodriguez1581 Месяц назад
All masculine traits are certainly not toxic, that’s the point of the having a separate term for the behaviors that are. It’s probably not even fair to class them as masculine traits, but society has been classing them that way for centuries. Think of the scene in the Breakfast Club where the athlete admits to brutally humiliating some weaker boy who had done nothing to him because his father had taught him that was masculine behavior.

Errol Flynne's dad did not keep bengal tigers. There is a rumour that he may easily have kept a (now extinct) Tasmanian tiger, which was nothing like a tiger at all, but a carniverous marsupial that looked more like a dog.

Melvin Belli told a great story that may have been the basis of the adage, “In like Flynn!” At a party, Belli found Flynn passed out or asleep, naked in an upstairs bedroom. Belli laughingly charged the women a few coins to get a gander at the rear end of Flynn!😀

The Red Skeleton tv show he appeared dressed like a hobo. He stops and says hello to Red. They talk a bit and then he leaves..I guess by that time he was already over the hill

The ‘interference’ effects added to make images look old are idiotic and just make the video unwatchable.

“Brimming with toxic masculinity …” At least that liberal buzz term was used right at the start of the video, saved me from wasting my time on the balance, thank you. Theme: Everybody and everything from the past is BAD!!! Everything you ever believed is is crap!!! Wheee - what a fun mindset.
