Alexa is such an amazingly talented designer, she inherited the incredible taste of her late father Mark Hampton(RIP) but she is more relaxed and witty as she matures, and this apartment couldn't look and be any better without her incomparable work!!!!!

@@danielbillingsley74 The greatest 'What I Despise/Absolute DON'TS' lists belong to Min Hogg and Nicky Haslam. Both lists, informally collated over their lifetimes, are laugh out loud funny and unintentionally so. I love people with a really strong sense of aesthetics when they let it rip on what really makes them shudder with repulsion. The 'realestalker' blog before it was bought out was funny and so was the 'ripittoshreds' blog (but that was fashion, not interiors). Bitchy and witty aesthetes: a very real place in my world carved out just for them to exist and do their thing. I'm here for it! ;)

I totally agree with Montgomery Cam... Very cosy apartment... The owner so relaxed and welcoming, type best friend... her husky voice so sweet. The two blonde ladies swaying through the magical apartment were nice to look at and had such lively conversations. Btw Susannas green jacket was gorgeous and suited her very well. What a delightful little foray that was! I love her allegiance to classical figures and figurines and the John Soane tribute. I often dream of having a John Soane wall in my apartment. Well that was fun, it's unfortunate more people don't use the stronger/richer colors as that master bedroom has such a beautiful look. The bold kitchen color is another great example and who wouldn't love the book shelve doors. Thank you for sharing!

Estate sales are a fantastic source for unique, traditional things (furniture, art, etc) at a fraction of the cost. I could see creating a look like this, just from estate sale finds.

She should decorate some of these million dollar homes that are showcased on RU-vid. For such beautiful, big, and luxurious homes, their decorating is tragic. It's amazing how apartments are often better decorated than most actual homes.

No, but very sadly there was the tragedy of 2 cruise ships colliding, one rolled over and sank in 8 minutes. That was a mile downstream from us. It was terrible.

I read in a magazine article years ago that hiding televisions behind easily removable paintings etc is 'tacky' etc. I was puzzled because surely that's one of the most ideal, discreet ways to do it? I also watched a so-called expert chide someone renovating a country house for having painted their dining room walls green because it was "a no-no for a dining room because it makes the food look terrible and people feel nauseous and it's just not the done thing'. I laugh about this now, even years later because so many great estates I've been in have rich green dining room walls! LOL I guess there comes a time when you have to completely ignore pontificating 'experts' and go with your own passions and take a risk.
