First look upon the house and I was amused, the unusual use of color... After two rooms I felt... tears- I was crying! I hated to agree with the almost plaintive comments of the woman being shown through the house, but I did agree. It was almost, "how did you??? how could you???" and it felt overwhelming, and wonderful, and I almost felt angry that somehow this couple had a life that lent them to develop and choose these marvelous colors/items/designs. I will NEVER forget Teddy and the rabbit... So glad I am subscribed, I love this entire house inside and out, the entire land from the second I saw where the house sits... So memorable, so many moments (burned into my memory) what a joy! Quintessence!!!
I have lost count of the number of times I’ve watched this vlog, I love it that much. When I found all this was captured in a book by Peter and Katie, I not only bought a copy for myself, but my similarly visual cousins. We all focus on different things, but all love the classical structure underplaying this joyful use of color and unique furnishings and objects. For a completely new house, this follows the long tradition of quoting the past in new ways to create a building that is completely unique. If it was stripped bare it would be exquisite. Furnished and overlaid with color as it is... indescribably joyous. Not every artist uses paint on canvas. ❤️
Beautifuljib we your fans apraciated special since covid we need beautifulthings to keep our selfs going sane thankyouthankyou may God blessedyour workthankyou
Not even halfway through the video and have to applaud them for the generous and gorgeous use of purples. Rarely do you see it used, especially so boldly throughout. As others have stated, everything marries so well together. Love this home, inside and out!
I love all your episodes. I wish they were longer and I could see more of every wonderful place you visit. This definitely needs to be a half hour tv show. I, and I am sure many others, would enjoy a quiet Sunday morning watching your visits on tv. - Danny M. (GreatPoseidon)
Love your sense of humour, "16 yr old girl name Gigi". I thought I was leaning towards minimalism and everything white, but I have always loved mixing patterns and how all of the homes are decorated with lots of finds and things passed down through the generations.
Cjbrowncj...There are always some great ideas to be found on this link...some are just delicious...some are well?...take for instance the sage curtains at the beginning with the Chinese inspired braid edging...then these flesh colored drops which looked like a row of cow's udders or worse still hemorrhoids running down the side of the curtain!....what can these people be thinking of??? I guess its a question of, whatever floats your boat...just as well we all don't have the same taste....
Very interesting and colorful home and garden! However I would have liked see the kitchen and dining room as well. Susannah, I loved the white fringed cardigan you are wearing in this video, I adored it!
What a gorgeous home!!! I could look for hours! Wish they would have shown us so much more! The kitchen must be wonderful as well! I wanted to see the dining room from the kitchen! Thank you so much for filming this. I feel inspired!
Videos is only halfway through and I am so freaking wowed! Just when I think I’ve seen a favorite video, I find this!!! Great job! So unique, fresh and original
I love seeing so much of their style that’s what a home it suppose to represent. My ADD self would be on high alert here but I love it for them!! Especially all the eclectic whimsy and special touches that makes their home so unique!!! ❤️
Creative and colorful! Enjoyed the behind the scenes decisions that led to designing a home with four distinct entrances (taking advantage of the north, south, east, and west views), 'that' stairwell based on historical design😘, and the couples' love of gardens and landscaping. 🌹🌹🌹
Love the fearless use of wall color and patterned upholstery fabrics. So much more luxurious and whimsical that stark white walls and bland upholstery.
What a lovely house! So many unexpected, exquisite details, beautiful, restful proportions, daring yet harmonious combinations... Quite wonderful. I particularly love the glossy dining room walls - although I usually prefer chalky, matt finishes! Thank you for this.
The garden was just as beautiful. You won't believe the things you find at auction or at junk stores - The items call you.... at least that's what I tell my husband. LOL - Xoxox
Thank you!! Yes, we think even if the house has been previously published, seeing and hearing the homeowners is another layer that can't quite be captured in print!
1:56 the colour of the tiles is really quite speacial in that space. 2:40 is the inside of the display cabinet painted with that lovely yellow? Fantastic choice of colour for the space it's been placed in, the fabric and the cabinet work well. 6:22, 7:05
One can dismiss Peter Pennoyer's seeming denial of the modern world and that his work is sometimes too precious but it is just beautiful and always intersting.
Oh my... another fun visit, all those pretty colors and detail and that desk!!! As you stated each room is like a jewel box. It would be hard to be sad in that house, it's such a happy look throughout. Thank you also for a visit into the garden, the Allium and peonies amongst all that green are spectacular. You've done it again, thank you so much. Please keep these visits coming.
My favorite by far. I absolutely love this house! Every. little. thing. No. stone. unturned. The details!!!! But I am dying to know, you must comment and tell me this or I won't be able to sleep at night, is there a rooftop terrace?
