These cars are not 0-60 kings, it’s the 3rd and 4th gears that this car uses well. RS 440cc injectors help a lot with top end power with appropriate map.

I've got mk2 facelift st3, upgraded exhaust, rs440cc injectors, rs spark plugs, rs clutch, ram air induction kit, custom remap, good for arround 270bhp. Had it for just over a year smile every time I drive, love it.

RS injectors at 270bhp? You don’t need RS injectors usually unless you have a map such as cp340 and that’s usually 340bhp and upwards. Great cars some minor flaws but look after them and there great

stage 2 ST225 should boost off the dial which is 1.5 bar from memory, 20+ PSI

Andrew Webber end of Gauge is 1.2 bar . But it’s not correct . If a st has been mapped then it will boost right up the gauge and even if you remove the map it still will boost right up the gauge instead of going half way up

I almost bought the face lift version with a dream science stage 2 a few years ago. I was cash ready and in my head it was a done deal but after I drove it I was just disappointed with the pace. Sounded lovely though.

My Focus ST gets to 60 in about 8 seconds with TC off and gets 6.7 with TC on the power just spins the wheels in 1st and 2nd without trying (not had the car long but it's completely stock)

So many factors to this, is it running cheapo fuel, hot day creating heat soak etc etc, doesn’t mean it’s not stage 2, plus factor in the power lost over 13 years or so

Standard golf r's see my rear pull away from them once 3rd-4th gear onwards in a straight line of course lol , only had one golf r match me so far but as we all know there are many golf r's out there running proper nice power but again same goes for some st's

@joe M do you have an ep3 now? I've got one of these and considering changing into an mk2 St, if you've had both how would you compare them, which one of the is the more exciting drive? Getting frustrated with appealing torque on the civic, it comes into life on a b road where you can maintain the revs but that's not always possible when around town where you need a quick pull from low down

@@astongrad930 I personally prefer having low down torque for everyday driving, i drove my ST 250 miles a week. Wouldn't want to do that in in civic tbh. However the civic is so much fun on the twisty roads. May come as a surprise but i actually prefer diesel engines, especially the PD130 engines. Spend 3k on a favia VRS and can have 250 bhp, and alot of torque lol. Just depends on what you enjoy more dude

@@joem8213 thanks for getting back Joe. The ep3 is not the funnest daily when driving most of it on urban roads, speaking from experience so I know how you feel. Agreed, on twisty roads there is little that can beat the civic in this price bracket in terms of agility, sharpness and grip. Ultimate dream would be an f80 m3 which for me is the perfect daily but is way beyond feasability at the moment.

£3,200 a Premier Edition honda Civic Type R EP3 with loads of bolt on and suspension and visual mods. ST and VXRs are okay in straight line but I wouldnt want take either one on track not the best handling cars nor are they the most reliable where as the EP3 is way more fun reliable handles better and can be used as a proper track car.

@@S93.45 I found that example May 9th 2018. £3,200 prem edition. Im not sure it worth mentionung all the mods becauss if you knew their mods you would also know you can get a standard ep3 for £2,500 with about 100-120k miles ok the clock. No STs have beat in a straight line yet. VXRs that may or may not be mapped are properly fast in a straught line. On track a standard 200bhp ep3 can leave a 600bhp motors round the bends.

Hardly able to find a ep3 Premier for 3,200 with less than a 100k on the clock. Its 2019 now mate. Nearly 2020 I think you'll find the prices have risen in the last year. Well done if you got that deal. They are capable cars. I love the ep3. They are good handling cars and a lot of fun. But I will be honest... And a bit overstretching there aren't ya pal.

@@S93.45 Ive got the reciept at home mate lol. It did have approx 120k but thats baby miles for this Honda. Its done about 148/149k hits 8k and on the odd occasion 9k rpm. Modded tk approx 250/260 not mapped yet and I cant complain mate. But I suspect prices may have risen. Btw Autotrader prices are a little over priced sometimes so havw a look on Piston Heads where I bought mine.
