My favorite way to implement the gravity batteries is to let a dirt excavator make a giant hole for me and then line the edge with as many as will fit.

If you had put your gravity batteries on a 1 high platform above where they currently are you could have a path under them to build the explosives and the rest of the gravity batteries from under the platforms. Don't forget to re-path that run to the metal before the next bad tide, otherwise you will have a heap more infected beavers (Scavengers + Haulers).

Hey JC, I've been watching this series since 1, and I know I'm almost half a year late, but having been in industrial construction for nearly 19 years and having have worked on dams, I'd like to suggest in the future considering using the entire spiral mountain as your water reserve. Build flood gates before the level steps down, all around the spiral. That way you won't have 100% of it "push" its way to your colony level, and you can release all the stored water in the spiral as needed. You'd have been able to store 8 to 11x you water reserves with a handful of wood, planks, without having to screw with explosives.

for the gravity batteries, i always like to put them 1 level above my path on 1 high platforms so i can come in from right underneath and build and have access to the side to put dynamite in too

The temporary landbridge plus real bridge that goes across the main water reservoir is looking surprisingly cool. I'd be in favor of keeping it for aesthetic purposes. It is still possible to place dynamite underneath fully constructed gravity batteries, the camera zoom is just a bit annoying and finicky. And the ladders down might be annoying too.

Additionally, in the beginning, you could have stored bad water to the left channel, or feed it into the "lake" that flows off the map and pumped Badwater from there.

here's an idea: split the helix mountain in 2 parts with levees, dynamite the top to add a second outflow and wall them both with regulated floodgates. if it's good water, it will pour down the good side. if it's bad, it will pour down the other side, eventually reaching the canal by the riverbed on the back. and you can turn the good side of the mountain into secondary water basins too!

Quick tip: You might already know all of this, but you don't follow that. Always keep looking for bars next to the resources. If the bar is full or about to be full, that means you are producing/obtaining more resources than you can store. Its a better idea to increase the storage for those resources. I was looking at the water, raw potato, grilled potato, wheat storage getting full and screaming at the screen. Also, you broke the path to connect two water bodies, but didn't bother to build it back on priority, that caused you a lot of delay in construction and getting the stuff to your industrial complex. You had a few beavers unemployed at various stages, you can always have a very low priority haulers or builders hub.

Might also be time to blast a single-wide channel for the badwater to drain away so you can get access to all the storage in the badwater cap.

You can use the holes dug by the excavators as a cistern to hold vast quantities of water! (yes i see the ever deepening river) If you dig a big long trench and fill it with water (the higher up the better) you have a massive water supply for when the river dries up!

→ I don't think digging a hole at a place where you want your water to flow through is the best idea. Now the bad water will stay here longer, and it'll take longer for the good water to flush it out after the bad tide, so you'll get less good water replenishing your reservoir. → 58:44 Instead of the universal power shaft, the horizontal-to-vertical one (which you didn't research yet) also works here, and uses less resources. Or the normal high power shaft (in this specific place).

21:40 you could have deleted the floodgates and just used levees. Not like you're ever going to want to divert water down there anyway. Would have saved a lot of planks, too. Now if you blast a channel in the very top of the spiral, you'll get your water super quick.

Should we put a cap on the bad water source and set it to a lower priority, so they work on it when you don’t need the resources for another project? I think a cap is better than another rig, because you could harness it for power on that side during regular flow or bad tide. For the lower flood gate, could you not just link it to one of the upper stream gauges and when it reads as very low water, it shuts the gate? If you put another stream gauge in the reservoir, could you open the upper floodgates when it lowers to a certain point? So if it hits .5 for instance, it auto released the spiral water to refill?
