Hi, great question! The 2020 CrossFit Games was a two-stage competition with points awarded for each event. The athlete with the most points at the end of the finals wins. Kari Pearce won the final event, but Tia Toomey had the most points across all events. Does that help? It's meant to tax the entire body. Not just particular muscle groups. This is a test of fitness. Kipping pull ups is a better test of overall fitness than ordinary pull ups. This isn't just a strength sport. Like half the comment section is commenting like you. Why is this so hard to understand wtf. You had your vent, leave.

@@Floorum I was in the SEAL/BUDS pipeline, worked out with EOD, and navy divers, we did CrossFit stuff, cuz it worked. But we never did kipping pull-ups because there was no reason for it. None. Have them do 1000 bicycles and 1000 flutter kicks, then have them do 100 strict pull-ups. This is a way better test then momentum based pull-ups.

This is why special forces guys have WODs named after them. But we never did dangerous lifting techniques and momentum based stuff since it screams injury
