anyone who's never attempted a crossfit workout for time shouldn't even talk. This is so brutal im surprised nobody passed out. I have a ton of respect for these guys.
Hello excuse me for my english im french and i reside in Tahiti it's very hard for training to try this event but here we don't have some realy coach to learn and coach us for this cross fit sport thank you very much.
Anyone else notice how uneven the scoring/judging seems to be? Some are counted across as soon as they step across, others when they touch the line, most seem to be when they release the straps.
There are several cross fit places in Brisbane and they are not for those who only lift for strength. They are set up for those who are fit and can handle the fitness regime.
@@justinhardt1 so true 😂these guys r so much more overall fit than runners, and thats coming from a runner myself... it's crazy for someone of these guys' body masses to run 2.1 miles at that pace
I would imagine its mainly blood doping to help with the high cardio demand of the events. Honestly though i think are a lot of top contenders at the games that don't cheat.
You make a valid point and I'm not trying to argue because even if a person takes steroids, Hgh, blood doping, etc, they aren't magic potions that make you a champion, its just excuses for the unaccomplished. But in history man has always tried to find an advantage, especially in war, and there are many examples of mixtures of drugs like stimulants and or alcohol warriors took for stamina and courage. US fighter pilots actually are required to take a stimulant. Yes really. A reality of humanity
Kyle Gilbert what does? Crossfit is not a PURE test of any SINGLE ability, agility and balance are just one aspect of the two movements I listed. The idea is to perform movements requiring high levels of multiple components of fitness, not just one.
A lot of idiots bashing crossfit , haven't tried crossfit . I worked at a crossfit gym for a month and I tell you it's intense training . the memberships are pricey , but it's worth it
I don't know if they are on juice, but your point is totally wrong. Steroids aren't used only in bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman. They are used widely in every branch of sport and it is a fact. So I don't see how steroids can't help them, if they can help sprinters, cyclists etc.
Because of the amount of charlatans and bad trainer that wrecked people body with their ignorance. But hey same could be said of martial arts too. Problem is you couldn't approach the subject with a 10 foot pole without rustling jimmies. There's high intensity training with good forms, and then there's your jacked Joe milking people of their money AND their health. Mixed that with the big circlejerk around it/popularity and it becomes self explanatory.
That's because it isn't just Running that they have to contend with. Why would you go max speed on running when you have 500lbs to flip across a soccer field right after that. The run isn't where the event is won or lost.
I've used a sled for powerlifting to increase deadlift strength and hip power, and nothing will burn your legs and quads like pulling it backwards instead of forward like they did here. I mean nothing, it hurts just to think about it.
I agree, I'm gonna come out and say at least 50% of all strength athletes in the world have been on some kind of juice at some point. Not ragging on xfit but I don't think their the exception.
I compete in oly lifting only. Before that I wrestled in hs and college, but this stuff is really cool. I don't know why there is so much crap talk about these guys? They are not trying to be power lifters...way to small for strongman (which I love) of Olympic lifters...it is what it is.
No one is trying to downplay his achievements, people on steroids work harder than people who aren't, but it makes sense to claim that you are drug-free. Why risk your achievements seeming "tainted" or losing your sponsors? Most fitness athletes and a lot of bodybuilders/powerlifters/oly lifters claim drug-free when they aren't.
The reason they're not running at the speed of Olympic track athletes is because the crossfit games are not just a single track event. They're pacing themselves so they can compete in every event.
There aren't that many black guys. I don't think this is because one race is better than the other at sports. Different races dominate in different sports. I think it has more to do with cultural norms of that race. Black people growing up in black families influence their kids to get into basketball and football. White parents tend to push their kids into getting an education over any type of sport but when they do, white kids tend to do more costly sports such as hocky, cycling, crossfit. I think the main reason there aren't that many blacks in crossfit is because its expensive. Its an economical reason. Crossfit gyms are usually $150 or more a month. Only the higher income people can afford such a fee. Not to mention the amount spent on quality food.
They were saving energy for all the stuff they had ahead of them, would you really want to sprint on the run and burn out half way through flipping the pig?
Tire n 20 lb hammer a whole bunch of dumbbelss n barbells n plates and i go to field. Near me with a thick pullup bar n some places for dips n i jus invite some ppl to join n we jus get creative n go hard as fuck
These guys are in great shape. That being said, when I was competitive powerlifting, there wasn't a person at the local box that could beat me on a WOD unless it had double unders or more than 20 consecutive pull-ups. Point of the story, there isn't one be all end all. None of these guys follow true paleo, none of these guys trains in a Crossfit (haphazard) manner. Enjoy it for what it is, the well-off white Olympics.
A.) its ESPN3 not a channel dedicated to crossfit. and B.) it's interesting to see how much this bothers you considering this has no direct influence on you.
I will give you two advises to decrease your timing. 1. Carry the log behind your back with your arms holding it from behind with your fingers only on the bottom. 2 cross the strings on the last event to get much more stability on your pulling.
