Atari Gamestation Pro Unboxing, Review, Modding! 

Just won one yesterday at my office party gift exchange. Had no idea this thing even existed! Everybody we're so freaking jealous (IT company...). Now I know why! I'm more into Nes or Genesis game so I'm very happy I can load those, but I'll give Atari games a try...

Maybe this isn't your case, but I'll write it just in case. I initially had lag on my NES Classic Edition, but then I found out why. Before you play an emulation console, you have to go into the TV settings and choose "video game" mode. Usually by default it's set on standard mode or cinema mode. The microSD card is an essential feature, because Atari is limited to giving you games owned by Atari. Now you can add any games you want. I mean, what good is an Atari if you can't play Ms Pac-Man? Anyway, great vid!

Gamestation sounds like a cartoon’s game console, I love it.

Thanks to you, MetalJesus and some others I used my Gamestop giftcard and ordered one of these for Christmas. I can't wait to hook up my X-box controller and start adding games to it. Between this, my pc and Steamdeck I am set for retro emulation.

The Atari 2600 Junior was my first console. 🙂

There's a firmware update for his which fixes controller and aspect ratio issues. It also adds SNES and Sega MS. It also adds subfolder support and 2600 paddle support for games like kaboom. Subfolder support also means sound sample and bezel art can be added for Mame games.

I really like this console and I'll be getting one soon. I plan to put each systems games on their individual SD card and to print some stickers to fo on each of the SD cards cases that best represents each system best. I do hope the update can allow subfolders etc.

I just got mine a week and half ago and already got games loaded on a SD card. 64 GB SD card would be perfect to use to add games.

I was going to pull the trigger twice but I keep seeing reviews about the latency in the controllers make some games unplayable is this true?

Great review! You hit the 3 main drawbacks on this otherwise great retro console. NO SD directory support, Joystick Lag while wired (worse on BT!), Paddle games only working with joystick. (not mentioned the Left side sound issue) I REALLY HOPE Atari puts out a bios/os update to correct these issues.!!! Everyone, please put the word out about the problems and push for fixes!! THX More vids like this !!

Paddle lag is a concern.

GameStation Pro. It really so be called Atari Flashback Pro 13. I like that it looks more like the 7800 over the 2600. Controller is good but not great. Community hack is impressive but daunting to implement. Many other better ways to play roms. Hack the Wii or PlayStation Classic for better examples.

I have one of these and I very much enjoy it, it does basically what it says on the box, but I have noticed a few things. Firstly, when I started using it, I noticed I was only hearing sound through the left speaker on my TV, I first thought my console was faulty, but I'm told that it's a problem with firmware version 1.20, hopefully My Arcade will correct this problem. Secondly, GBA emulation isn't very good in my opinion. Games such as DOOM don't play very well, the framerate and sound are both very choppy, plus, as far as I can tell, the controller doesn't have enough buttons for full GBA compatibility. I don't have any PlayStation or XBOX controllers, and the GSP is simply not compatible with the USB controllers I do have here. Even the PlayStation Classic controllers don't work and my Logitech F710 wireless controller does not work.
