I love the side art and colors for that cabinet. It definitely stands out.

Everyone played these at least once I think. Hard to look away at the time…unless of course Time Crisis was nearby.

I just made my own CHD file from the hard drive and copied it over. Nothing to amazing really. It was still neat for me to see the drive get dumped and work perfectly.

Thanks man! It seems like the Sinden light guns are decent for modern displays? I’ve never had a chance to use them but that seems to be a decent option. They’re licensing to Arcade1Up too I believe.

I havent played either of those in a very long time. Missed out on a Gunblade cab two years ago. It was working and super cheap at $250.

I guess you’re right. I didn’t remember it being that much back a few years ago, but I only bought the kit and installed it myself on boards I already owned. I’m not going to get the CPS1 multi, just sticking with MiSTerCade for that.

Maximum Force was a few years later. Essentially the same game tbh, lol.

That is exactly what these games were made for imo; casual play while drinking beers.

I’ve never played Site 4 but I’ve not heard great things about it. I’m kind of intrigued though. It doesn’t run on MAME and I’m kind of afraid to shell out any money for the actual game considering how rough it sounds. You probably made the right choice switching things up.

@@ScarletSprites yeah the problem I found was, it ran on a x86 SBC that was piggybacked to a daughter board that handled all the game and gun inputs as well as a watchdog that would reset the SBC should it think that the game somehow was malfunctioning. It was very picky on voltage and would reset the game seemingly random. I talked to a good arcade Old timer who let me in on what he knew about it. It also would not accept any kind of solid state disk or compact flash. Funny note is, the designer of the daughter board even left a little note in the silk screen of the PCB that says something to the effect of "WTF". It never had the feel of the original game imo. Also had some side/mini games. If it didn't come already installed in a cabinet that I paid about $100 for I would never have bothered. I eventually sold the whole lot for about the same as I got it for, as is, with it occasionally resetting. Area 51 maximum force is a much better game if you just have the happ guns or Time crisis one or two the later use the fancy IR guns, iirc

@@commandtheline I’ve seen some funny things like that screened on Atari PCBs. Some of the Area 51 boards have things like that too.

That’s awesome, definitely worth a shot at cleaning that up and getting it rolling. Highly ideal price.

Hah, Area 51 is for sure fun it’s just not a great game. I love the film Gone in 60sec, but I’m not going to argue it deserves any awards. It’s kind of like that, lol.

You should have all of that coming off the Jamma harness. You’d have to check the manual to see what pin it’s using for those, I’m not sure off the top of my head.

That's a cool setup. I've been thinking about how I want to ultimately setup light gun games for easy switching in and out. I've been fooling with an idea to make a consolidator that would be semi-hidden on the front of something like the Dynamo cabinet. Maybe similar to standardizing kick harnesses to a DB15. Then just plug the guns in the front and away you go. I have too many ideas/projects and not nearly enough time.

Not overly original but it’s how I felt.

Area 51 was standard resolution (360x240 according to MAME)/15khz.

@@ScarletSprites I have one more question for ya. Im trying to connect my PC to my CRT that has a 360x240. Im using Windows 10 and im trying custom the Res onto 360x240. How do you change the refresh rate to 15krz? Some reason it wont let me change it on to 15khz. Do I need a program like Quickres, to allow me to change the refresh rate to 15khz?

I love Mad Dog. I was so hyped to get it for Sega CD and then Mad Dog II on 3DO. If I could find a cabinet…lol

There are Happ pistols with recoil feature that are plug and play. They’re unfortunately getting harder and harder to find.
