She's to me doesn't show this side of her a lot it's usually physical violence from her and she's literally coming on to him way, WAY too strong. If she wants him she's got to cool her jets. Men don't like women that do what Lum does. It's also the beauty of the moment when he gets to see her true self without her ruining it.

I like first anime during Christmas but I enjoy 2022 Version and 1981 version is always funny and best. I do watch two of anine Versions from different years that I likes: 1. Fruits Basket (2002 and 2019) 2. Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 and 2009)

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Compared to the manga and original anime, this moment is given greater weight: Lum's looking at the couple ahead of them holding hands, and you see her wondering if her bond with her Darling is all in her head. Meanwhile, though he's trying to shut it out, he can't deny he owes Lum, this time. He looks over, probably to grudgingly admit as much... And then he sees Lum properly, for the first time since she invaded his life. For once, she isn't zapping him or getting (according to him) pushy. He's able to realize that Lum really IS beautiful. When she starts to take off, his expression suggests he realizes, deep down, that it's now or never. Then Ataru reaches out, and takes Lum's hand. Hesitantly, he suggests that they keep walking together for a bit. Lum's smile is subtle, but you see that she gets the change in her Darling's attitude. His own blush suggests that he's still grappling with this new development. And just like that, the whole dynamic of the series changes.

Love your comment. It is exactly what I think of this scene. This episode also represents the start of what the story will look like for these two. Lum leaves (for any reasons) and Ataru looks for her or stops her from leaving his side (without confessing)... until when she will need to have something more to stay once again :) I just love both of them ahah.

The worst part about this anime how not enough people are watching it. I wish the piano rendition of the op would get released somewhere. It's such a sweet and somber track. Generally, this anime has some of the best and memorable ost's of recent times. I mean, why am I surprised, it happened to the original as well. To this day "Lum's love song" ,the opening of the original anime, is a Karaoke classic in japan. You could go up to most any Japanese person and they would know the song.

Probably because Urusei Yatsura came out in the late 70s and early 80s before anime really took off outside of Japan (if you're familiar with the big boom for anime) which was the late 90s. I can tell based on the promotion and other content aside the series that this franchise was really popular for its time in Japan only for it to slowly die off at some point. This explains why we got a few British dub episodes and some lost American dub episodes. It's obviously not popular outside of Japan but I'm sure there are more Japanese fans than we thought. Maybe not as many as they are now since it's been decades. At least people that never seen it are surprisingly enjoying the remake so far which makes me very happy.

To be fair, Shinobu was meant to be Ataru's girl. Lum just happened to become more popular, and displaced her.

I think the whole point of those anime being remade into those artstyles we see were just to make them as close to the originals and manga counterparts as possible. Fruits Basket also got remade and kept the old artstyle from the OG anime and manga.

Ataru see the other girls as sexual partners, the only thing he feels for Shinobu, Ran, etc is LUST. With Lum is not lust, is love, somenthing that he is building little by little but he don't want to admited. In the end he is a tsundere😂. People think that the anime troops comes from Evangelion, but the reality is that everything we see in modern romcom comes from Urusei Yatsura, the og romcom.

Lum is an alien oni who creates electricity to hurt people. Remember she wasn't this soft when those two first met and her family seemed very intimidating prior to that. I would be scared too at first.
