@@genkihoriguchi5612 who do you mean innocent people. Atatürk is a person admired even by his enemies. Greek Prime Minister Venizelos nominated him for the Nobel Prize. Atatürk means modernity. Atatürk's greatest war was against ignorance. This is how Atatürk told us. 'The holiest of wars is the war against ignorance,' says the great Atatürk. Therefore, those who hate Atatürk the most are the ignorant. In addition, Atatürk, whom you see as a dictator, has always kept a distance from real dictators. He said that Hitler was an unstable person and Mussolini was a dreamer. "These people will lead their people to disaster," he said. Atatürk was a very forward-thinking person. In the 1930s, he said, 'Towards the end of this century, the Soviet Union will disintegrate'. All of Atatürk's predictions came true. Atatürk was not an ordinary person. He was a true genius. After the War of Independence, everyone looked at him as the new sultan.But he declared the Republic and gave power to the people. Dictators do the opposite. This shows that you don't know anything about Atatürk. Only ignorant people make up their minds about what they don't know. I said that only ignorant people don't like Atatürk. You are a real ignorant.

“If one day, my words are against science, choose science.” ― Mustafa Kemal Atatürk
@jeffmorrison2915
@jeffmorrison2915 Год назад
So let's choose science then: Creating a new country based solely on one ethnicity is indeed a precarious endeavor, as it can serve as a catalyst for perpetual ethnic conflict. Especially when "Turk" cannot be scientifically defined. Such a homogenous approach disregards the inherent diversity within a nation and neglects the rights and contributions of minority groups. Adopting a title like "Ataturk" (Father Turk) when a country encompasses millions of non-Turk minorities only perpetuates separatism and exclusion. It is essential to recognize the value of inclusivity and respect for all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic background. Just as the term "Atakurd" would be discriminatory in another context, it is crucial to promote equal treatment and provide opportunities for all individuals within a nation. Moreover, the distinction between laicism and secularism holds significant importance. While laicism tends to result in a backlash, often leading to the resurgence of religious government, secularism promotes the separation of religious and political institutions, safeguarding the principles of religious freedom and individual rights. A balanced and inclusive approach that respects diverse religious beliefs while upholding the principles of a secular state is crucial for maintaining harmony and preventing social and political turmoil. Granting political power to the armed forces, known as militarism, is not an act of patriotism but rather a dangerous precedent. Historically, Turkey has experienced military coups at intervals of approximately ten years following the establishment of the Republic. This pattern perpetuates a polarized struggle between religious and Kemalist factions, with the religious wing often gaining ground in such confrontations. To ensure stability and progress, it is necessary to seek alternative methods of governance that prioritize democratic principles, inclusive decision-making, and the rule of law. It is important to note that Ataturk, although a significant figure in Turkish history, may not offer the ideal solution to the challenges faced by contemporary Turkey. A comprehensive approach that respects diversity, upholds democratic values, and encourages inclusive governance is more likely to foster social cohesion and promote a harmonious society.

Turkish history is very deep, I dare you to say “Turk” cannot be defined. There are whole bunch of Turkic states, I dont know what are you drinking nowadays. Ataturk wanted to create a secular republic and Turks are grateful for it. You can visit Arabian states and see what religion does to the state. Militarism? Turkish military is loved by the people. “Mehmetcik” or “little Mehmet” widely used by people to refer military and shows affection. Ataturk made military to entrust the constitution while they are forbidden to be member or affiliated to any political party. This was crucial for early days of the young republic. Turkish democracy came rather with much less blood spread thanks to the Ataturk and mehmetcik For the record, the constitution is Turkey is clear. Every man woman have the equal rights and equal in the face of the court. Majority of the people are Turk, but minorities have all the rights. I personally have many friends. He was a dictator but he didn't fill up his pockets and make it rain to his relatives. He dictated only to create a better future for his nation in a secular country. Therefore he is a very special one in the history of the earth. He made primary education free and compulsory, opening thousands of new schools all over the country. Turkish women received equal civil and political rights during Atatürk's presidency. In particular, women were given voting rights in local elections by Act no. 1580 on 3 April 1930 and a few years later, in 1934, full universal suffrage.

@@chebzzzzzzzzzz Yes, I think so. Since this is a very unique dictatorship for the history, a new term is required and created which is called "benevolent dictatorship" in order to seperate from stereotypical dictatorship. A dictator is a political leader who possesses absolute power. A dictatorship is a state ruled by one dictator or by a small clique. The word originated as the title of a Roman dictator "elected" by the Roman Senate "to rule the republic in times of emergency". Therefore the term "dictator" isn't have a "bad meaning" on it's own; it's the person who decides to use his power for "good" or "evil".

Atatürk was a visionary man, way ahead of his time. Many of his sayings are applicable even in today’s world. Looking at his biography, it is evident that he was an intelligent man at his core who constantly worked to improve himself so that he could fulfill his strong desire to lead the creation of a secular Turkish republic. I deeply respect him for his commitment to his people and to the ideals that we see today referred to as Kemalism. He was an outstanding commander, statesman and teacher. An impressive deed since it is extremely rare to find all these qualities in a single man. The Lausanne Treaty signed at Palais de Rumine (in my city Lausanne) is written proof of his and his people’s achievement. I see Atatürk not only as the human being he was, but also as a symbol of something bigger and universal; the idea of progressiveness. I certainly regard him as a role model and I have the utmost respect for Atatürk’s Turkey. I hope Turks continue to follow in his footsteps. Greetings from Switzerland! 🇨🇭

@@Persepolis1 Lmao don't believe this liar. Atatürk himself invited the Shah of Iran to Turkiye. And Shah stayed with Atatürk for like 1 or 2 weeks. We had a good dentist at that time, which was a hard to find profession back then. Dentist was a European guy. The dentist was in Hitler's camps (he was a commie). Atatürk asked Hitler to release him, multiple times. After a long time and little bit of tension, Hitler released him with Atatürk's wishes. He came to Turkiye, opened the first ever denstist clinic in here. Iran Shah had problems with his teeth, so he both got treated in Turkiye, and made diplomatic and friendly contacts with Atatürk. You can even find the videos of Shah and Atatürk together.

I live in Australia, and those who died on both sides were the victims of western imperialist aggression, aggression against which the Turks were given little choice but to defend themselves. I learned about Ataturk early on, when I was about 12, as I was always interested in history. I immediately loved the guy, he was what you wished all leaders would be like, but never are. i guess that is an another way to say ''i dont have even a little bit opinion about Atatürk.'' Atatürk is the strongest and first bullet thrown at imperialism and slavery. This man was against imperialism all over the world, especially his own nation. Although his own people were in poverty, he united everyone under one roof and defeated the four states alone and established a FREE, NEW TURKISH REPUBLIC. Every action he takes is for the freedom and welfare of the Turkish people, and this is one of the things that caused his death. This man, before Britain and France, the superpowers of the period, gave Turkish women the right to vote and be elected, and protected and glorified his own woman in a more civilized way than the so-called "developed states". He has achieved many successes in his 57-year life, but the biggest of them is undoubtedly that he has proven his passion for liberation, independence and freedom to the whole world, and you come and slander this man with such funny and fabricated arguments? fuck your history knowledge.

I have since learned what an enlightened education I was privileged to receive and how little my peers know of history, both American and the world. Ataturk actually more literally translates to “the ancestor of the Turks”! He is mentioned as the most influential leader of 20th century by a number researchers. He is one of the few leaders who have gained the utmost respect of his enemies and even Fidel Castro allegedly once said “ I tell those who call me a revolutionary to take a look at Ataturk”. General McArthur once told his officers while making a tough decision “ I’d rather have Ataturk’ opinion rather than all of yours combined”. His adopted daughter is the first woman combat pilot in the world and among the 20 greatest aviators bust in Aviation Museum in DC she is the only woman standing next to 19 men! Because of Ataturk, Turkey had a woman prime minister in the 90s way before many other European and western nations! In many sports you can see Turkish female athletes thrive and that is all because of Ataturk’s legacy and foresight! If middle east had few more Ataturks world would be different place! Gen musharaf lived in turkey during his formative years and inspired by kamal. later, during his 10 yrs rein as president, he implemented many turkish styled reforms. He is always cherished and will forever be highly regarded by secular Turks especially after we see the shape of all other Muslim failed states due not being a solid state founded by a solid leader! I am not a nationalist but I have immense admiration for Ataturk. If only there were leaders like Ataturk in the Middle East, the Israeli Palestinian conflict would have been resolved long ago. His geopolitical realism and civic reforms were exceptional. He also died at the right time, before outstaying his welcome. Even Erdogan could not fully destroy the structure of the Turkish state that Ataturk had founded. A great man.

every time when I see his photographs or when heard his voice I get into tears. He is more than a father, he is a legend, a hero, a genius... he is a gift for us. Rest in Peace Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha.

Ataturk became a solder at the age of 19. He served in army 19 years. It was an intence 19 years, lots of wars... And he became a politician at the age of 37. He served the coutry 19 years as a politician until he died. He saved the country, he rebuilt the country, he did tons of revulotions... During in this busy life he read more than 4.000 books, he wrote a geometry book, language book and a history book. he designed the new alphabet and more... As a Turk, I am so proud to see so many people of different backgrounds admire Ataturk. If only every nation had an Ataturk the world would be a better place.

A lot of leaders tried to emulate Ataturk, but failed. One example would be the Shah of Iran. Then again circumstances were vastly different everywhere.

Ataturk is a man to be admired, in America we aren't taught about him; but if you love world history his name is impossible to ignore.

@@kidsworld3441 Ataturk Was a Hafiz he knew his religion and how "Imams" used Hadiths to their advantage much like what you see with the corruption in Saudi Arabia and other Islamic nations today. The true decline of the Ottoman empire was because of these superstitious Islamic scholars who used Hadiths to suppress technological advancements as well as education with their influence in the courts of the Sultan. Ataturk saw the betrayal of what Arab "freedom fighters" did to the Ottoman empire with his own eyes. You can still be Muslim and love Ataturk.
