HALA (of course Hearts Awakened Live Alive) and ZIA means light in Latin. Which is also referenced in the song by saying "Be the light, oh Halazia" 🥰

I love how everyone shined in this MV Yeosang with his deep voice, WooSanHwa slaying as usual, Mingi and Hongjoong spitting fire, Yunho doing what needed to be done with his visuals and vocals and Jongho just casually being the best 4th gen boy group vocalist.

I damn near fell out of my bed when I got this notification. This MV is a freaking masterpiece. I need an Ateez drama/movie. Something. Seeing them live was the best thing. This is my phone's ringtone now and I know people are sick of hearing it. I don't care.

So in terms of lore, this is supposed to be literally a “spinoff” or side story/ different pov of what is happening in their story (I’m not exactly sure where this lies in the timeline, but based off the prologue teaser I might say this happens between Deja Vu, Say My Name, and Guerrilla?). also “Halazia” is based off of their acronym from HALA HALA (Hearts Awakened, Live Alive) and “zia” is a word in Latin that means “light”, so it might mean becoming the light to awaken emotions and feeling? Sorry, this is a lot but that’s what I believe is happening here since it lines up with the lyrics

I done been gave up trying to figure out these storylines. If I see someone explaining it, I'll attend the class but me doing the homework by myself makes the whole backend of my brain hurt. That being said: ATEEZ DON'T MISS!

I was so excited when I saw your reaction was up, however I can’t tell if you liked it or not? I would’ve loved to hear more on how you felt about it despite the lore. I thought the whole thing was amazing…the vocals, lyrics, choreography, story telling & cinematography were epic… so good. I understand some of the lore but I don’t think it’s necessary. It’s just a great song and video. It may even be my new favorite Ateez song!

Here's the most common "current" theory right now - in a super watered-down version. I'm not sure how far into the lore you are but I'm going to start with the hope that you already know that there are ATEEZ (The New 8) and HALATEEZ (the Black Pirates). HALATEEZ is in the future in a place called Strictland where gravity is lost and citizens are not allowed to have/express emotion. At one point in the Diary entries the Black Pirates were captured and are being held captive (like in Deja Vu) and the citizens are waiting for their return. HALAZIA is kind of a prequel to GUERILLA (where ATEEZ begins the revolution by infiltrating the system to "break" in to people's minds and free them through music). Mingi teased in a NAVER interview that this MV is through the eyes of one of the people (Witness) and since the citizens don't know what happened to the Black Pirates you can see the "scarecrow" that the witnesses have erected to keep hope. There are several lyrics in this song that refer back to the Diary entries, so those really have to be read to kind of get the full story - and even those of us that have read it are still debating - especially since there wasn't a Diary entry with this album release. One lyric about the blue bird that Yeosang refers to is represented by the blue feather on the album cover and actually holds a pretty significant meaning in Korean lore (similar to Robin Hood) which could also be another pretty significant meaning since ATEEZ is trying to take control of the government and give the emotions back to the people. It's one helluva rabbit hole, but if you ever decide you want to dive in - be prepared - you may come out more confused than when you started...but a lot of their videos will make a whole lot more sense. 😁

I will just copy my comment from another reaction video. So According to other Atiny HALAZIA = HALA (Hearts Awakened Live Alive) + ZIA (word that might mean LIGHT) that’s why the lyrics says: BE THE LIGHT, OH, HALAZIA. This song is part of their new mini album SPIN OFF: FROM THE WITNESS, so as the title suggests the story is a spin off in a sense that is being told from the POV of the witness, they may be the 4 people at the end of the MV or someone else. Also, timeline wise is unclear where this MV is placed in their LORE, but what is clear is that: Halateez (the Ateez members of a different dimension, known as the black pirates that are fighting against the government or the entity that controls everything and that has banned many things like arts and emotions) are seemingly gone, they are nowhere to be found. We don’t know if they are hiding or they lost against that entity. So in this world not only emotions are lost but also gravity (we don’t know why and what does it mean) BUT NEW 8 have appeared and apparently they called themselves HALAZIA, so they can be the NEW LIGHT, new hope for the humanity. It’s not clear if these new 8 are the Ateez members of our dimension, that have come to save the world of HALATEEZ but they might be and the clues are: 1) Yeosang is chained. At the end of DEJA VU mv, we see him on the ground alone holding the Cromer (the ancient artefact similar to an hourglass that has the power to let you travel through different dimensions and times) but then the Cromer is broken. Many assumed that he came back to HALATEEZ’s dimension and was caught by the government and imprisoned like in SAY MY NAME MV where we saw him in that glass prison cube thing, and during the performance of ANSWER in the show KINGDOM LEGENDARY WAR. 2) Yunho is inside of a giant broken hourglass, Ateez members might have discovered another similar object on their own dimension but somehow it broke too. 3) Wooyoung holding the HALATEEZ’s fedora and burning it. 4) Mingi’s lyrics part. Not only describe clearly a part of the lore but also the meaning is much more deeper than we think, cause is so relatable to our lives. 5) Seonghwa glitching this might mean that because he’s from a different dimension he can't stay in the HALATEEZ’s dimension so that’s why he’s glitching when he’s under that scarecrow hala, he doesn't belong there. 6) San has always been the members on the frontline, he sacrificed himself here but also in the diary video where the Cyborg, the white masked man, appeared in their dimension to captured the Halateez but ended up meeting the Ateez members instead, and in order to save his members he fought against the enemy, same thing happened in Kingdom during their performances of Answer. Unfortunately, I wanted to make 8 points to add more meaning on my comments (you know 8 makes 1 team) but Jongho and Hongjoong’s parts are still unclear to me. Also, the sphere that they were pulling down might symbolises the emotions of the people leaving the world, so that’s why they are trying to pulling it down, to regain them! So, I think I've said, in a bad way and full of grammar errors (sorry), everything I could possibly think; sure there are other things I wanted to say like the BLUE BIRD: someone thinks that might symbolises the bird that brings good news to the world or something like that. Or other things. Yesang used to sing in I'm the One with his deep voice, but in this song the lines are longer, so his voice and deep singing were noticed, although his voice in singing without the deep is beautiful, but it is charming in the deep.

From what ive gathered from watching the other videos and the teasers leading to this one is they are the new 8. The new Halateez. I think the old ones were finally captured or died. I think the people at the end could be the witnesses. but people have pointed out that the silver ball things affect the gravity and when San pulls it down with the other people at the end rain is falling the right way, so gravity is back to normal? I think you should go through their storyline which is written in all albums diary edition. You'll have an idea of what they're trying to say. But in brief, ateez is a group of 8 boys wants to make music suddenly one day gets transported to another dimension through Cromer and meets their own versions of that dimension who are called Halateez. And Halateez are dying coz in that dimension people are not allowed to have emotions, the government is strictland government they banned emotions, whereas halateez was rebelling them, got captured and dying. So they asked Ateez to be the halateez of that dimension and complete their work. Ateez took that responsibility and became halateez that we saw in Guerrilla, now this is also after Ateez taking the responsibility at the same time they're mourning for halateez but also keeping their movement alive.

HALA means Halateez and Zia means Sunlight so this song aims at a prayer anthem dedicated to the saviour of humanity (halateez) who are probably dead now. The strictland government from their last comeback guerilla got them and hanged the scare crow as an epitome of what happens if you go against the government. This scares the people. The world is getting destroyed and people are praying for their saviour to save them. The emotions are dying. The world is turning colourless. This is when a new 8 arises. This new 8 is no one else but feverteez from A galaxy who enters the strictland with the help of Chromer. They disguise themselves as halateez and take over their place in order to complete the mission, save humanity and "be the light" (zia) for those people (that halateez failed to achieve). The moon represents the lost gravitation of the earth. It is an accumulation of all the human elements and emotions that has taken a place of a sphere. San sacrifices himself to pull back the ball against the loss of gravity. (Yeosang and chains are evident because of zero gravity. Yunho in the chromer with his hands escaping the elements rising upwards is an indication.) In the end the ball falls and San absorbs it. We dont know if San is alive but we do know he brought back thr emotions again. He brought back the gravity again (rain drops falling on the earth's surface in the end). Those 4 witnesses at the end are probably the students that escaped the strictland University. They are the witness.
