ATEEZ "Halazia" Live Performance Reaction | Mind-Blowing Stage Presence! 

Fanchants are a thing with kpop that makes the live experience very immersive. There are specific fanchants for songs that the group will release so fans know what to say, but they always include some version of saying the members's names in order starting from the leader and then going oldest to youngest and sometimes the name of the group and/or song. You heard it at the end of this performance, they said: Hongjoong Seonghwa Yunho Yeosang Sanie (because San's name is only one syllable) Mingi Wooyoung Jongho A-ee-tee-zeu (Korean pronunciation of "Ateez") Ha-la-zi-ia The "Break the Wall" part of the fanchant for Guerilla is so loud that ATEEZ pays noise ordinance violation fines ahead of time when they do concerts (this is from my experience in the US). Their live shows are crazy good but fanchants are something that is pretty integral to kpop in general and it's really fun to participate. :) Thanks for the react!

Halazia is one of my favorite songs ever. I never get tired of it. When I watched my first K-pop tv performance last year I was so fascinated by the fan chants! I think it is such an amazing and beautiful way to get great fan participation! I’d love to get in on that! 😆

Fanchants are wild for westerners who don’t know what the heck is going on. At their U.S. Duluth show I (and the concertgoers around me) managed to at least get the names in at the end. 😁

Ateez are one of the best at putting on a whole show every time they perform. I went to their concert in 2022 and it was like a combination of a broadway musical and Cirque du Soleil. One of their most theatrical performances is for their Halloween song Black Cat Nero. It’s actually a remake of a song by an earlier group, Turbo, but Ateez completely reimagined it although they kept some of the original choreography for the chorus. They also incorporated some of the choreography from Michael Jackson’s thriller. But Ateez loves doing Halloween and creepy themes (they didn’t earn the title demon line for nothing) so they are in their element in Black Cat Nero. I would love to see you react to that either their live performance on immortal songs (where one of the members of Turbo is one of the judges) or the music video (where the same member of Turno makes a guest appearance)

When kpop artists release a song they also release a fan chant. So the S. Korean fans participate by memorizing the chants to support the song. Everywhere else we just sing along with the whole song.

For the Ateez concert in Chile I was dressed as Yunho in this presentation 🫡 ATEEZ LIVE IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL🔥🔥

At 3:53 & 7:34, they yell ATEEZ (Korean pronunciation Eh-ee-tee-jeu). At 8:33, they yell the members names (Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, Sani, Mingi, Wooyoung, Jongho), Eh-ee-tee-jeu, and Halazia. If you search Halazia fanchant, you can find the guide. Typically, fanchant guides are posted within a few days of the release. As far as seeing the audience goes, most music Korean music shows don't show the fans much. ATEEZ performed for an Immortal Songs concert in New York. I think they did pepper in some fan shots. I believe they performed both Halazia and Guerrilla there.

I've seen Ateez live twice & they are awesome performers. Best concerts I've been to. Another really good group who are great live are Monsta X (their 2 rappers are my favourite in kpop along with Hongjoong & Mingi from Ateez). If you are interested I would recommend Alligator or Gambler.

It's interesting that you mentioned Michael Jackson during Hongjoong's part (leader, rapper, one of the producers of the group) bc he is one of his biggest heroes, along with David Bowie! Many kpop groups have lore and storylines and there is always a specific concept for a comeback (each new release is called comeback, usually it's mini-albums in series of 3 to 5 but sometimes singles or full albums release 2-3 times per year) but Ateez always maintain that high level of theatricality in their stuff that is not actually typical for most other groups and I think it does come a little bit from their 80s-90s inspirations and vibes!

To see the crowd you can react to their performances at the immortal songs concert in the US and their performances in “Korea the stage London.” They performed several songs for both events.

I tend to prefer their performances at their concerts, they are more raw and theatrical. Coachella was brilliant, i hope you enjoyed guerilla...

[long post!] Others have mentioned the wonder that is the fan chant. There are usually TV prompts during the show filming that play to the audience side, like applause prompts in TV show filming. There is a video for most of their title tracks where the members sit with their lightsticks (lighTINY, in this case) and show the expected words and timing. When they have a comeback (release new music, EPs or full albums), the release schedule will generally have: MV teasers (lore), MV trailers (more lore), the main MV (grand scheme lore), then participate in 3-6 "live" music show performances like this one for about two weeks after release. I say live because they'll record the same performance several times and will sometimes record the fan chant section _before_ the stage so they get a good sound mix. When they take the song on tour/performance, you'll see true crowd participation, but the fan chants as a whole are Korea-based; international audiences often fail spectacularly at capturing the nuances in enough numbers to sound like it does here. A lot of these performance are also flimed in the middle of the night. 2 or 3am. They also do it for multiple stages the somtimes in the same night for the different music shows in Korea.

ATEEZ at Cochella is good live. Its amazing because so many people in the crowd don't know who ATEEZ are but they very clearly are into it. The crowd got so loud you could hear them from the other stages. Speaking of ATEEZ live, they JUST finished a world tour. Their only Canadian stop was Toronto Aug 8. I debated going but I chose to make good financial decisions instead (ticket prices were fine but flight/hotel was YIKES). I saw fan-cams of the concert after the fact and I regret not going SO MUCH. It looked SO FUN If your interested in Stray Kids lives as well Lalalala is good live. The fanchant is so fun. Also their entire Lalapalooza set (also in Aug) was incredible. The boys got so hyped up from the crowd they went a little crazy (especially Felix) I also considered going but ultimately chose to make good financial decisions and again. I regret my choices hahaha so much FOMO. Videos were going viral on Instagram and Tiktok for WEEKS

those chants are from the live audience, they're called fanchants...

It might be worth looking up the fan chant for this (literally google Halazia fan chant). There are ones for most, if not all, K-pop songs. You mostly hear them at music shows like this one.
