I think Mingi is quite humble but he also has a fake arrogance that he's not afraid to bring out every now and then. I'm looking forward to your next ateez video!

jessi is a very extroverted and has a very transparent but flamboyant personality. she's been in the music industry for 16 years, so a lot of current artists really respect her which is why ateez seemed more nervous than usual! these days, she's known for her interviews with idols because she's not afraid to tease her guests and make them feel more comfortable with her energy. jessi was born and raised in new jersey so she has a more "american" mindset so she's not as conservative as korean born celebrities if that makes sense.

The thing with Mingi is.. I feel as if the Mingi that went on hiatus and the Mingi that came back from Hiatus are two different people but in a good way. Before Mingi went on hiatus he had this kinda cocky confidence (which I loved) but now his confidence is more on the mature side. He's more calm and collected now.

It's interesting that you said that San is the type of guy you would want to go to war with. I can't remember the exact interview or question, but when San was asked what he saw as his role in Ateez, his response was that he saw himself as a " fighter", someone who would do whatever was necessary and whatever was asked of him for his team to be successful

Wooyoung is really a social butterfly. He is the most comfortable one out of the members, in interactions with strangers. As for Yunho, I have observed that he is not very comfortable in formal settings like interviews. His personality really comes through in their own variety shows with only the members and the staff more.

Yunho said once that he likes other members to shine more, that's why he doesn't take protagonism. He's really aware that he is good in almost everything, he say that all the time, reason why he always let others take the spotlight, he's containing himself. Maybe is that what you see about him!

San is pretty much the designated hype man in the group. So you will always see him supporting the people around him to try to make them feel comfortable and important

I think I need to say some thing about these two clip that you see from ateez Mingi is Yunho's best friend. They were friends before ateez. And in the first interview you saw, Mingi was on leave, and at that time Yunho was a little worried and upset. Yunho is a person full of positive energy. In the second video, he was a little sick. That's why he was so silent. I think he is a special person because he can always make me smile . And I can say about Yeosang that he is a very polite person and he is the funniest member. seonghwa has a strange personality. I have never seen an idol like him. He never tries to draw attention to himself, but he is always careful of the rest of the group And trust me, if wooyoung or san became the leader, KQ would be destroyed in seconds.😂😂😂

Oh Jessi is super genuine in any way you can possibly imagine. That's why idols really admire her and fans love her too. She's not shy to talk about what she's thinking at all. And she also shows that in her music.

Damn straight the guy who looks like a model is Mingi. He's so gorgeous, but he doesn't know it!!! a little awkward at times but that's part of he's charm.

what you said in 1:46 hit me tbh bc i’ve been feeling like that too about yunho for a while now. i definitely think he has grown in self confidence but he still has some way to go until he reaches his full potential. i just hope that it doesn’t take him long because he’s honestly an amazing person inside and out and im pretty sure when he feels %100 confident he’ll become even better as an idol (but like he’s already so good idk how he’ll top himself even more bc is that even possible 😭)

You're very right about Yunho, he often doesn't realise how funny he and just what a great guy he is. He is shy when receiving compliments and often pushes his members in the spotlight instead of himself. He does have his confident moments where he knows how handsome and talented he is, but that shouldn't be moments, he should feel confident all the time!

I'm super glad you're reacting to another Jessi interview! She really knows how to make everyone comfortable

watching this in 2024... omg... the way so many of these descriptions now are so not ateez 2024 anymore.. they've grown so much

San is actually shy around new people. Jessi isn't a new face to ateez. They've met and interacted before so San was comfortable being open with her

i totally understand you about yunho! I can sense that in general, like he's actually the main dancer and technically most talented but san stands out more cause San has that confidence. Yunho has actually been getting more confident, but he still has a long way to go, i'm proud of him. I'm glad you noticed that though, and you're encouraging him (through video haha). I feel that way with Yeosang too, but Yunho tries harder while Yeosang seems more okay with being quieter. I think that's what it is, is that Yunho is trying but you can tell it's not fully there, but I relate to that.

I love this analysis so much… Hearing the things you said about San makes me so happy because San actually wasn’t always like this,he struggled with low self esteem and was very shy for a long time but he started to gain confidence when the members got back from their training period in America predebut,he definitely has a lot of presence now and when he’s on stage he OWNS it for real. Hope to see some more Ateez in the future:)

One thing you may have missed depending on the amount of Korean material you cover is that they played a game in the beginning where they could talk informally to the hosts as though they were same age friends (The Korean language has respect levels and you always speak respectfully to your elders). Wooyoung jumped on that opportunity as fast as he could and she razzed him for it. Yunho couldn't bring himself to do it. Seonghwa's solution was going to be say nothing, but he was asked a question so he had to decide between speaking respectfully as he's been taught or speaking informally as she asked. He tried to split the difference by being very complimentary and then sheepishly adding the informal sentence ending. I think it says a lot about their personalities. Another thing you may have missed happened after Yeosang flipped his tongue. You pointed out Jessi asking what use he could make of it, but next she asked if he had a girlfriend--Kpop idols can't date (at least publicly, it's a wierd thing but K-fans get really angry). That's why he dropped to his knees, the implication was Please don't get me caught up in a dating rumor. Thanks for the reaction.

The thing with yunho which I’ve noticed him being my bias….’ He is less out there. Bit shy? Keeps a bit more t the back when other ppl,are involved. He’s a very happy and more extroverted person but I think he’s shy too! I feel like he blossoms when it’s just him and the members and ppl he’s familiar with!! Like with the ateez reality shows and vlives we get to see more of his goofy fun side!!! I hope he becomes more comfortable over time too !

Jessi interviews are probably one of the bests (maybe even the bests) to watch when you want to see a group's or soloist's real personality. She is very extroverted and one of her goals when her show began was to show people's authentic selfs. And because she's been in the industry for a long time, a lot of newer Korean artists look up to her. Jessi is known to be very bold and not hold back when she doesn't like someone. She'll either tell the person straight up or show it through her actions/facial expressions which is also why I think many people are nervous when they first meet her.

It's funny you've mentioned the war thing, San has just been on a reality show called Running Man that had a survival challenge and he did brilliantly being insanely cool and capable and also super caring and protective towards his team members (not Ateez guys, he was there alone) and other participants.

Jessi is the most real idol you can ever find. She's very extroverted and blunt. She will let you know what she feels. She is from America (New York specifically) so that is probably why you feel like she's a little extra compared to other idols.

I think San is the epitome of if you try really hard at something, you can become good at it. Apparently he was so bad at dancing when he entered KQ, that they forbid his audition video from ever being aired. But he said he practiced dancing in every spare moment and now he's an insanely good dancer. And San has repeatedly tested as an introvert in the MBTI tests, even though some of his members insisted he must really be an extrovert. San's reply was that he used to be more openly introverted, but when he met Wooyoung he thought "Ah, this is the way an entertainer should act." And he studied the way Wooyoung interacts with people and copied him. San reminds me that sometimes I should stop complaining about not being good at something and just practice more.

yunho is really confident while dancing but otherwise he seems like he's not fully there with being confident YET he has really gained confidense through out the years

And i just want to said that your analysis to san is spot on! I mean he is someone you can really lean on and rely. He's such a good, pure, caring and sweet soul. Like would always genuinely listen to every member and sympathize with them. Very san right there!

Seonghwa… It is well-known to fans that Seonghwa had a lot of self-esteem issues he’s been working through over the years. He used to do things like grow out his hair to hide his face, practice alone so no one would see him, and in earlier footage you can see how serious and quiet he seems and how he tends to push other members forward. He is also known for being shy, kind, a little goofy, and soft spoken. To me, this interview is interesting because I think it shows Seonghwa in transition where he is feeling more confident and is trying to be funny but he hasn’t quite got himself figured out yet. Lately, he has really come into his own. He is really a fascinating and beautiful person. I feel a sense of pride watching him and seeing how much he has grown over time.

As an ATEEZ fan you've took the words right out of my mouth, everything you said was on point with the members with how I see them especially with Yunho and San.

Right. That is exactly what im thinking about Yunho. He can be so funny, but sometimes he unsure. Also when he dances , he actually has a very high skill / precise technique , but the way he executed it makes that move becomes "unseen" or not maximal.

The best way to really appreciate Yeosang's funny personality is to watch Weekly Idols, in my opinion

Hongjoong is actually the father figure, told by the members themselves haha and Yunho gets crazy sometimes, you should definitely watch several more interviews.

i'm really glad you're reacting to ateez. they are my fave group but i also think that from an outsider perspective their personalities and relationships are really interesting. in terms of this interview i think they were more shy than usual because they really respect jessi a lot. also i think women make them a bit nervous lol. but for me, ateez truly shine when they're alone with each other and they become chaotic as hell - so i would recommend checking out some more informal content. i watch a lot of your videos and i know you generally stick with interview environments but there's some great vlog/behind the scenes style videos that would really help highlight their personalities a lot better. for example, yeosang is incredibly polite and quiet when in formal settings but behind the scenes he is much more chaotic and has a really cool 'savage' humour towards the other members.

So funny I found this today and I hear your comment on Yunho being still a bit to get some confidence.. they just finished a massive tour in Europe and you can see slightly how Yunho has grown into his stages and is super confident and he did write a letter saying exactly that at the end being like thanks to all your support Atiny I’ve grown a lot and broken my inner walls! So I’ll look towards seeing more content as they create it now xx

I'd love to see you analyze another interview/video where its just them. I think having jessi as the host made them nervous bc of her being a senior and the unpredictability of the show. They bounce off of each other so well and are able to entertain themselves without any help. There's also a lot of instances of them making sure everyone gets a chance to speak (e.g. stopping others from interrupting, directing questions towards the quieter members, etc...) It's really obvious how close they are based on how they communicate. and i think you'd also be able to see a bit more confidence from members like yunho cause theyre all a lot more confident doing goofy shit amongst themselves vs in an interview setting. I suggest any behind the scenes/backstage videos.

7:54 listen to you saying this everytime makes me so happy and proud, san wasn't like that before, he he has said it himself and he's open about it, he had low self-esteem before, but he has grown so much, and now he looks more confident, happy and comfortable. 11:44 it wasnt like that actually lmao, its just that when she said that, wooyoung slapped his thigh and it was so funny. 13:18 now this is interesting, bc even tho san is really caring and has a strong presence as you said, he's one of the most playful along with wooyoung, the rest of the members always say their mental age is 2-5 yo. And to the members he gives more of a younger brother vibe, even to jongho, that is tje youngest, he has said it himself. San is like a kid trapped in a adult's body

Rewatching in January 2024. In a recent promotional activity of the It's You unit, San mentioned that it takes a while for Yunho to warm up to 'strangers'. In his words, San said, Yunho is a tough nut to crack. This explains much why he is kinda awkward around people not normally in his circle.

I have a little crush on Yunho because he's a little awkward. :) Also, yes! More Jessie interviews! She's so funny. I would recommend her interview with Hwasa that they just did. I also love Hwasa. They have a great sister-like relationship.

jessi is very honest & sincere so when she makes a statement or reacts it may come off in a more flamboyant way than you or I would express it but that's how she is but she definitely means it. also in Korean entertainment especially in interviews, hosts typically are very expressive, animated, etc it's something they might do to make the broadcast more entertaining I can't say for sure because when you watch content from idols or even korean creators on RU-vid they express themselves in a similar fashion to things we wouldn't so it may also be a cultural thing.

It's interesting what you say about Yunho. I think in interviews he can get a little shy however when its just the 8 or them and their staff he's full chaos. He's very confident and happy to be the centre of attention when its just them

I think you would have a lot to discuss if you watched ATEEZ's Christmas Vlive from 2019. It's them talking in an informal group setting and among other things discussing more personal things going on in the group. That one really showed me how good they know each other and try to take care of each other.

I feel like you should know! One thing that the rest of ateez really emphasize when talking about San is that he's worked so so hard to be confident in himself! It's been something he's been very transparent about and they're all really proud of him for it! He's also always really sweetly attentive to everyone and most likely to give in when someone is being teased (which is why he gets teased a lot in return haha). Wooyoung is also widely known as the social butterfly, he has a lot of friends and is really good at drawing people in!

I encourage you to watch their 3rd anniversary vlive whether it be a reaction vid or just in your own time to see how their personalities really connect, interact and flourish while they aren’t in a interview or formal setting especially for characters like yunho

This was really cool to watch. I would love to see more. Seonghwa and Yeo are usually left out more than the others since they are usually the shy ones, but they are both coming out of their shell more. Seonghwa is such a goofball. He went to quarantine as like a quieter more reserved kid and came back as a different person. He has crackhead energy like the rest of them now! I think that he is really blossoming lately. It is amazing to see that kid who couldn't even look in the mirror and who was severely depressed come into his own. It cracks me up in this when he is hamming it up because it isn't usually like that, but he is becoming more like that. I think he sometimes overexaggerates his confidence which I find so funny because I think it is more him trying to find the balance and joking around. I think he is still growing into his confidence. I love this new Hwa that is blossoming so I am excited for more. He continues to grow so much and I think that is such a beautiful thing to see. He has such a unique personality. Don't know if I've ever seen an idol like him to be honest. Thank you for reviewing Ateez. They are such a special group! All of their personalities are amazing and unique in their own way. No one does it like Ateez! Oh and their reality shows are hilarious. That is where they really come out of their shells and they are just all a bunch of crackheads!

What you said about Yeosang having a good sense of humor is absolutely true. The guy is comedic without even trying, and he won't hesitate to roast the other members either (as he did on Weekly Idol or any time he had to eat the food that Wooyoung cooked for him). About Yunho, I think you might be right about him not having found himself 100% yet, but put the guy on stage or even in a game and he will have all of his confidence (you should see him play games, he's an ace at pretty much everything that they play) I have been into these guys for quite a while now and seeing them become more confident at what they do is one of my favorite things to see. Aside of feeling proud of them, I can also relate to them since I am right in their age range (I'm born in 1999, just like 5 of the members). I just feel like I get them and their humor.

I don't know Mingi that well yet, but I got to know the other boys. I'm Atiny for a, few months. San and Wooyoung are best friends.

I love how much you love San!! He's a super reliable member, and a really caring and supportive friend ❤️ he deserves more hype for it! Also, I think you're totally right about Jessi knowing which members can take some teasing and banter and who needs a bit more encouragement...a lot of groups have commented on how comfortable she made them feel.

Love love love your analysis on the Kpop groups. I didn't know much about ATEEZ so this one actually give me more insight into some of the members. There'a a group that I wanted to get your opinion on, which is SEVENTEEN. They have 13 members so there's a lot of dynamics and interesting interviews. But if 13 is too much, maybe you can check out their Seventeen Netflix Interview "Quiz Alarm" first (which only has 3 members_curious to know your opinion about their personalities) and gradually getting to know them better. There is usually a little bit of a difference in how the boys present themselves when they do English interviews for Buzzfeed or such, I think because of some of them are not as fluent or familiar with English so they rely on the members who are better at English and thus come off as more reserved.

I disagree with the whole Jessi not being sincere thing. I think that's just her personality. Jessi strikes me as a person who wouldn't do something just for the other person's sake. Like if she doesn't believe it she won't say or do it. She wouldn't voice the compliment if she didn't mean it.

hearing about san's comment about getting to war and wanting to have him in your team just reminds me of the fact that in ateez's storyline he is always the one to sacrifice himself in order to save the others

Tbh I do feel that way towards yunho too. Im actually that type of person similar to yunho's personality, which makes me understand a lot about him (and he's my bias as well hehe). I love how encourage of you towards yunho that makes me almost cry hearing that. love your video

YUNHO-- Its not because he doesn't have confidence its just that Yunho prefers other members to shine so he doesn't take the spotlight all the Time eg when he is dancing and as we know he is our Main dancer, he tends to not outshine others at the center in his dancing when other members are in the front but when its his turn in the center he uplifts the entire group with his charisma confidence and techniques and atiny tend to overlook that which is not fair to him....Yunho is amazing person and I hope y'all wake up and support him...I also think he is introverted a little bit and mysterious in a way

Wooyoung is DEFINITELY a social butterfly, he can interact very well with strange people and even with personalities that they feel more intimidated, as is the case with Jessi who is an idol who has been in the industry the longest I usually really like watching videos of him interacting with the other members, because basically he has this comfortable attitude with all of them, he's always flirting with everyone, asking for affection and showing affection too

I must confess that I only watch your k-pop reactions (the Korean idols are the only celebrities I know haha). I really like your analysis ! It's one of my favorite things when I like a group to try and understand their personalities, and also try to learn from them. It's really fun to see someone how has the skills actually analysing them !

As usual, I love watching your videos, seeing you break down different people's communication skills and habits and discover them bit by bit is super interesting to me! And I'm not sure about the type of video/setting you'd like to see ATEEZ in next, but I'd recommend to watch any of their Vlives. I'd personally suggest the ATINY 1000th day Vlive from 12 August 2021 - it's one of the most recent ones where they're all together (and actually the first as 8 after many months) and since they're also celebrating the 1,000th day of the fandom they're covering different parts of their journey so far.

Fun fact: Wooyoung (ATEEZ), Changbin (Stray Kids) and Yeonjun (TXT) are really close friends. They even call each other Lovey-Dovey, and Honey. Beomgyu (TXT), I.N & Hyunjin (Stray Kids) are really close friends even before debuting, they even spend New years(correct me in I'm wrong) in I.N's home. ATEEZ, STRAY KIDS, & TXT really have great bonds with each other. ❤️

i absolutely loved this. ateez are such sweeties and i totally agree with ur analysis. i’d really love to see what u think of NCT 127. they’re another kpop group and they’ve all got a sense of humour. “NCT 127 takes a friendship test” from glamour is really really sweet and shows their love for each other. but there are some other more interview-y videos that might be better to analyse. either way, i really love ur content and looking forward to more!

I love ateez, they are one of my favourite grops. You can see how much they respect each other and they have one of the best stage performance. Fan fact about Jessi: she said that her type is Jungkook from bts, I find it so funny because Jessi is so extra and friendly and Jungkook too but he is more of a shy and Less talkative sometimes.
