Cheap accessory I keep in my atem mini flight case is a couple cheap hdmi splitters. Comes in handy to send my program out to a confidence monitor facing the talent, or split someone's PowerPoint presentation on the way to a projector so I can easily incorporate it into the stream
Agree. Cheap HDMI splitters have been a lifesaver in various situations. Some camera or laptop HDMI signals are too weak for the Atem Mini which need HDMI splitter to boost the signal strength
As an audio engineer who went video, I still think audio is the most important part of video :) That said you could put some effort in the audio side of your broadcasts. That would make the total feel more professional to my opinion. Mainly in your case getting the gain levels down on your microhone would make it 95% ok. :)
Noted! on RU-vid ... i focus on serving my audience with the CONTENT .. otherwise you along with 20,000+ other subscribers would see ZERO videos on this channel. For my really viewers I've made the point dozens have times that because I have to continually reconfigure setups to teach and train, I'm not going to send so much time dialing in all the settings, only to have to change them all over again.
@@MonteWeaverofficial I think that is a lame excuse :) If your content had nothing to do with video like make houses or whatever, then your argument would be valid. But your content IS about broadcasting and creating videos. So you should put effort in do the broadcast yourself 100% right. At least you should try. Now it feels you just don't care. Oh well it is your channel, you can do whatever you want of course :)
YES ... its MY CHANNEL ... and considering the overwhelming support from the majority and their feedback, thats what I value. Your definitely encouraged to watch other channels and wish you all the best in growing your channel. I guess since you have feedback from mine, i'll give you feedback for yours ... Definitely work on those thumbnails. Graphics could use some improvement! :)
@@MonteWeaverofficial You are absolutely right and I will look at my thumbs. Thank you for taking the time to look and give me some critics. Critics are always good to learn from. I really appreciate it.
@@computerjantje the nerve to criticize another person that has already been successful in this field, Ive learned a great deal from Monte, now with that being said, I went to your channel, very boring, no sound on some videos yet you brag about knowing sound, how ironic.
It’s not the levels. Nothing changes on the audio, it’s just when I start and stop the camera and re-start, the camera brings it in hot. I’m more focused on just getting the content out, otherwise I’d spend all day editing and never upload anything.
my recommendation is to get an NDI Decoder; like the Bird Dog Play; or a Raspberry PI running DiCaffeine; that way can use OBS and its NDI outputs directly as a clean input while letting you control the PC and do your normal things; not having to worry about did you mute that messenger app etc. also lets you use NDI app from your phone as a roaming wireless input etc.
I would love an hdmi clamp to hold each of the 8 hdmi cables stable and the connected to the chassis if the ATEM, so they don’t “wiggle”. That would make me feel a bit better that the hdmi cables aren’t messing with the inputs of the ATEM….
oooh yeah! I'm buying at least 1/2 of the much-needed items for my Xtreme from your links - thank you SO much for creating this @Monte ! And great "seeing you" over here :) my clubhouse friend. Btw -- the #1 must have - is that power adapter! What a find! this link is sold out -- so if you've got another one to share here -- i'll wait to buy from your affiliate link -- so ya know -- you can enjoy a cup of coffee for creating this video for us :)
@@MonteWeaverofficial will have to check that out... I have that streak deck and an atem mini extreme sitting in the cart now... Last 2 parts of my live setup.
My mic choice really depends on use case. For podcasting I have my go-to setup, for wireless microphones I have ones I prefer, for boom microphones there are so many great options. It just depends on what the microphone is going to be used for for the "best" .. but even the best has personal preferences based on style, color and features that you want/need in a microphone.
Monte. Using the ATEM Mini Extreme, is it possible to perform zoom calls using multiple cameras and allowing the zoom participants to see the speaker and the training material? If so, please do a video demonstration tutorial.
There is no reason to use a Cat7 cables with an ATEM. It will offer no performance benefit over a CAT5e cable, which BlackMagic Design specifies as the spec on all of their ATEM's on their product page (10/100/1000). It is easy to source Cat5e flat cables as well.
You’re right. Considering my background is computer networking systems I use my CAT7 for my business that requires my COMPTIA certifications. Don’t assume that I purchase equipment just for my ATEM. In fact best not to assume at all.
@@MonteWeaverofficial Sure, I get that, but the title of the video is "ATEM MUST HAVE ACCESSORIES". The point of my comment is that CAT7 isn't a must have. I appreciate your videos, but as an AV integrator I see a lot of confusion in the real world from people who watch youtube videos like this and they assume they need a CAT7 network, when none of their devices require it and they're only getting at best 100/5 up/down from their ISP. The Atem mini line has been especially popular during the last year of the pandemic for my church clients (who are typically volunteers) and they invest in stuff they don't really need because they saw it on youtube. That 3D printed stand is pretty sweet though - I'm gonna pick some of those up!
When order to get videos ranked and seen on YT, gotta use keywords and words to get attention. The double edge sword of YT otherwise use boring regular words and not was my time creating videos that don’t even get watched.
Even with a 3D printed stand, our ATEM extreme ISO overheats like crazy, to the point that the on air and record buttons don't work. Do you recommend a particular cooling fan?
Good video Monte. Just wanted to confirm that your T5 is fast enough to record all 8 ports on your extreme ISO. I was going to go with the T7 but it’s pricey relatively speaking for the 2TB
how reliable is the atem under heavy load? i mean it's doing a LOT ,especially for the price compared to units in the pst that were like $10k and up. i've thought about getting one. but i have this fear of being mid show and having it take a dive
Considering the number of live streaming producers and content creators that are using the ATEM, if that doesn’t give you piece of mind, I don’t think i can convince you that it preforms as well as advertised- if you fear it won’t be reliable for you, all I can say is purchase a device that you do feel you can trust.
Monte, this video is great. Our we have a Atem Mini but need more ports and were wondering about the Atem mini Pro and Extreme. I love how you explained your set-up and was very clear about all of the cable, etc you use. I hope you create videos on all of the elements on the Switcher.
Thanks for the video. My main interest was the monitor you showed, but I see it is no longer in stock at Amazon. Before watching your video, I purchased a Yodoit Portable Monitor for Laptop 1920×1080 15.6" FHD Travel Monitor Screen IPS Display and it is NOT compatible with my ATEM Mini Pro. Do you have suggestions of other travel monitors that will work?
Less than a week after posting this video, the monitors sold out. It was also during 2021 when items were extremely hard to purchase. . I have some portal monitors that I have been sent to review on my Amazon channel, but they wouldn't work in this particular setup. urlgeni.us/amazon/monteweaver
There is ZERO reason to use CAT-7 cables on the ATEM Mini. It's port is only Gigabit so CAT-5e is fine. Spending the extra money on CAT-7 will not improve performance in any way.
You’re right. I just use it because I manage and build out client network systems and use CAT7 cables for their infrastructure. For some reason people only see a YT video as the final say but fail to realize that i just share what I do.
I recorded local to the computer SD cards. Currently I’ve been just using the 1080p recordings from each input. I’ve debated to go back to local 4K recordings but the workflow and time it takes to edit these YT videos is LOONNGGGGG
I have a question, I took your advice about the monitors. My question is I have the ATEM mini pro iso. but I have the xl stream deck do you have a desk top holder for this type of system?
I purchased my holder from cinerails.com - I would recommend checking out their site for various setups that provide. I actually had the creator of the product on my weekly Monday live-stream show just a couple weeks ago - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BszMs6Tq2-8.html
@@MonteWeaverofficial Thanks so much. I went to collage for all this but that was 11 years ago. My ex wife got mad and sold all my camera gear. Years of stuff. 10 of thousands of dollars and it broke me mentailly from even thinking of coming back but my love has driven me to live my dream and create my talk show called, "Inspire me TV" It about living your dreams and never giving up. Maybe one day you will help me with a segment about you?
hello Monte I am getting my extreme iso next week I got rid of my tricaster for it I can't wait ggetting it with stream bridge do you own a stream bridge and if so do you have a video on it
hello I have a question, I bought an atem mini extreme iso but impossible to connect more than 2 cameras with 10m cables yet independently everything works without loss of signal. is it the atem which is not powerful enough? are the cables of poor quality? Do you have problems with cable distances of more than 10m when you connect more than 2 cameras? Thank you
I use 25FT (almost 8 meters) cables connecting 3 cameras with no issues. I personally don't think it has anything to do with your ATEM as I've used an ATEM mini with multiple cables with over 50ft cable runs with SDI/HDMI adapters.
@@MonteWeaverofficial Oh. Ok. Have you presented a video on how to record a live production without going live? I use easyworship to present my graphic during the production.
That power adapter is TRASH!!!! I bought on your advice and it got so hot that by the time I'd start recording after setup, the circuit would trip and power down. Much better to just connect to a power strip and use it as a switch. Waste of $15!!!!
Unfortunately I waited too long and missed the return window, but using a power strip is working great and it's really just money. I just hate to see others potentially waste their time and money on a risky product like this.
I’m in a community of other live streamers and event streamers and you’re the first personal that has a mentioned a problem with this specific switch. Sorry yours didn’t work. I use mine daily and along with others and we haven’t had an issues. If I had room for another power strip I would use one as well, but I purchase based on my specific needs and a switch is just much easier for my personal use case.
Maybe it's because I'm iso recording and not just streaming, it's always when I started recording the problems happened but before seemed fine. But I should have listened to my dad, third party power supplies are always a crap shoot.
tenth accessory = a bucketful of those 4TB hard drives? $10,000 gift cert to pay for storage? A note from your mother saying "this is a stickup - I have a gub?" 😶😯😪
