It was a carefully Planned out execution, ATF skillfully orchestrated procedures to force victim into trying to protect his residence and family members. Plain and simple murder was committed.
I was in law enforcement for over 30 years. I love and appreciate all my brothers. But this predawn raid seems contrived to have the exact result it precipitated. If my door exploded in darkness, I would respond with a gun. This man was not a “gangbanger,” or some nefarious arms dealer, and he is DEAD! His wife was treated atrociously! It can be a deadly job. It was deadly for an innocent man in this instance, and that is a tragedy.
@@theengine8 absolutely, this guy sits there and spouts off about how the agency doesn't have enough funds to provide each officer with a body camera!!!! yet they wasted how much money on killing this man, when they could have used these resources to go after the people who are on the streets shooting people.
wOw they had a SEARCH warrant not a arrest warrant! wOw... what is screwed up... their own local police participated, not protected them! my mind is blown!
I was involved in a raid in 2012. The manner which ATF raided Mr. Malinowski's home was very, very similar how they raided the place I worked at. It's disgusting the fact that "we" have allowed our government to use the type of force that they do. The manner in which they do business is a great way for the US Government and the directors (and in some cases the POTUS) to lose a lot of trust in them; as I have--and 11 of my former coworkers as well.
Actually, you don't obey the law. Body cameras REQUIRED. The agents did not have cameras. That sir is in direct violation of the law. Who will answer for this violation?
But didn't you hear? After 2.5 years the ATF just didn't have the money to get them out to all their tactical teams...they obviously need more funding. /sarcasm
Yesterday it was reported that the ATF did a 6 am search with 10 vehicles, weapond, gear, etc.warrant by blocking the doorbell camera , cutting the electricity, no knocking, crashing door down, shot him in the head in less than a minute. Threw his wife in a vehicle and kept her locked in for 5 hours in a. nightgown in cold weather. Her husband is a director of an airport making good money. He collects coins and guns. He goes to the gun shows and swaps, sells his guns from time to time. They had a tracker on his car. They followed him going back and forth to work Lived there for many years. There was no reason to do a search warrant at his home knowing that they would be asleep and think someone was breaking in which is what anyone would have thought. Also no body cam. I thought this guy was so defensive , would not answer questions. What bothered me was he had no regrets about the way they did a sesrch warrant. It makes me think they wanted a shootout.
Mr. Dettelbach should have been arrested immedietly after leaving this hearing. it is obvious that the way that this was directed and executed that every agent from the atf that was on this raid should be arrested and held accountable for this mans death. You F##ks are not above the law.
This Director /Dictator is not RESPECTFUL. It is time to use the POWER of the PURSE to remove all funding from these bureaucrats until they start answering question. Instead of dodging and using the old "It is under investigation so we can't comment."
Why was a warrant issued for a guy who makes $260,000.00 a year & has no criminal history HOW ? HOW ? Hobby gunning wrong paperwork or form really . This story makes me sick
They do it to instill fear and they get off on doing raids. They get to get their little adrenalines all pumping and get to live their childhood dreams like they’re in some sort of action movie.
It's funny how the atf can tell us where almost every firearm this man sold ended up but couldn't keep track of where the weapons from their own firearms trafficking operation ,Fast and Furious, went
Every single officer or gov agent could be wearing a camera in one month (because dozens of camera manufacturers have donated thousands of ALREADY working cameras),but Someone(gov. Agents and police) are stalling that process and committing a crime.
Philadelphia has 6,600 police on a budget of 853 million dollars and have body worn cameras. ATF has 5,500 agents with a budget of 1.672 BILLION and they can’t afford cameras I call BS
Damn. Baltimore can’t even float over 500 patrol officers -around a third of what they’re budgeted to have. They need to find out what Philly does to get people to apply.
Raided 6 am. ATF cut the lights, covered the security camera with tape and burst in through the door. Woke the couple up. Dragged the wife out in scanty attire, no slippers on her feet, sat her in an ATF vehicle in cold weather, no robe, no info given to her about her husband, for 4 hours she sat in the vehicle, no bathroom breaks. What has America become? It was all over 9 guns, no laws broken, he was a collector. Terrorists sneaking into our country get better treatment.
I wish they had addressed the things brought to light yesterday. That ATF are pulling license of dealers over technical errors ( examole of misspelling, etc). Instead of giving time to correct they just close them down.
The warrant was okay overall. The issue is the ATF violated every aspect of the warrant. The warrant said the raid had to happen during daylight hours and could not be a no-knock warrant. I've read it and the afidavet and it DOES give good reason for a search....but not a murder.
Did they use guns for Roger Stone or Peter Navarro? These ATF guys should have all gun rights removed. They and FBI are all a big show. It proves citizens need our guns.
I don’t think they need disbanded. They do need to be compliant with the laws of the land, and remember the Constitutional rights that we are all entitled to.
Hell! They could’ve made a F***ING phone call to Mr. Malkowski and informed him that they were about to serve the search warrant. There were no exigencies. No exigencies were anticipated. This was planned this way specifically so it would end this way. The reason for it was to create political ammunition to further erode our natural born constitutionally recognized rights.
Costs of police bodycams can be had for less than $200, and with less than 5500 agents in the ATF, that only amounts to 1.1 million dollars. Why is he quoting a need for a budget Increase of 37 million to get the other 2 thirds of the ATF properly equipped. What am I missing other than somebody's priorities are f'd up. Then there's the question of risk management. The way this raid was done smacks of sheer organizational incompetence.
This raid never should have happened. As for body cameras, it's slightly more nuanced, but still his budget could implement them now. Initial costs not only includes the cameras themselves but other things like 1. Charging stations and extra batteries 2. Costs for repair or replacement for damaged cameras 3. Training all those agents how to use them, when to use them according to policy, and more importantly how to download, catalog, and store the data. 4. The data storage itself (the most expensive part) Let's say you have 5500 agents and they only record 2 hours of activity a day. That's 11,000 hours. Assuming it's HD quality let's just say each hour of footage is 1GB. That means your recording and storing 11 Terabytes of video a day. Now that video has to be kept for as long as the case it's tied to is able to be tried and or appealed cause it is evidence. So you're talking up to 5 or more years depending on the case (DC vs Heller took 5 years for example). Data storage is the most expensive and cost prohibitive reason places use to not implement them. That being said I know small podunk agencies with 5 officers that have them, they just get like 2-3 cause not all of the officers are working at the exact same time. They just swap batteries.
THANK YOU MR GATEZ FOR NOT ALLOWING THIS MAN TO EVADE YES I SAID EVADE YOUR QUESTION. NOW, will he be HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT FOING HIS JOB AND LETS GET SOMEONE IN HIS JOB TITLE TO FULFILL THE REQUIREMENTS OF HIS JOB TITLE?
That Report is a Lie/Propoganda as 18-19 year olds are not children Teenagers are not Children Majority of Crimes that involves guns with actual Minors is Gang and Drug related
The worst of the worst. Atf beat down my door once, threatened to shoot my PUPPY, had a warrant to search my home, my person and anyperson at the premises or arrived at the premises while searching and any and all vehicles. Because they thought I was a drug dealer. I've never sold a drug. They found an illegal street sign and a one hit bong. They destroyed my home. The regular officers that came with sat on my couch and played my Playstation while they ripped my house apart. I never got a copy of the warrant or was charged with any crime and never heard anything after they left except the city cop gave me a ticket for having the street sign. Worst of the worst over here.
The ATF is enamored with Gestapo style tactics. It should be disbanded immediately. Other agencies are more than capable of executing its duties and responsibilities, assuming they are allowed to by soft on crime DAs. Considering the state of law and order in this country under democratic policies it’s unfathomable that this man had to die when actual crime runs rampant in the streets of this country, completely unchecked.
To address Congressman Johnson from Georgia. If the victim was black he would be all over the ATF for not wearing g cameras. He’s disgusting and this isn’t the only time this too long in office guy.
The ATF is at war with the citizens of the USA. I view this as close to the military raids we did in Iraq, 2005, but the difference is we didn't kill the persons we raided. These agents just wanted to look good but were caught going against procedures resulting the death of a civilian.
Mr. Johnson from GA. This man had no criminal record and made over $200K as the director of an airport. I would call that his income source. Not being a gun dealer.
They murdered that poor man, I’m from the United Kingdom and the world is watching this crime and assassination by the ATF needs to be held accountable.
$1,625,000,000 divided by 52 weeks is over $31,000,000 a week between 5000 ATF&E personnel but they don’t have enough money to have EVERY agent that interacts with another, in his official capacity, having a body camera and audio recording of the interactions because “they need more funding”…yeah, seems legit. 🤔💩
It’s sad that these “committees” are a purely theatrical “scolding”. Only intended to make the public think, someone will be held accountable and that things will change. I have literally never seen anything come of these committee briefings besides being great comedy entertaining entertainment. That is when you can forget that this stuff is serious.
Oh no there are indictments and charges brought up by congress...but they have to be enforced by a court/ judge. So it only happens when everyone is on the same page. Which doesn't happen frequently
Its a practice that is universally recognized all across the board. Even in Law Enforcement. Especially task-force agencies. If a task-force agency is no longer needed in service for the role they provided. It gets dissolved and removed. If a task-force FAILS to provide service in it's role. Then it is of no use to the police department and must be dissolved and disbanded. And anyone involved being held accountable for their misconduct. When you have an agency that continuously repeats mistakes, causes damage, displays lack of accountability, endangers the very population that they are trying to protect and constantly sidesteps authority for their own benefit. And has proven that they cant even do the job right. Not only that. FAILING the core mission at the basic level which is "catching criminals" and "keeping guns safe" from the real threats in our country. Then there is no other logical option but to get rid of the agency. ATF has failed multiple times throughout the last 30 years and not once was reprimanded or penalized for their actions. No one went to prison, no one got indicted, their qualified immunity exalts them from punishment. Hell, even when they dont their job. They still get a pass from judgment. It makes me sick seeing a rogue government organization just keeps getting away with it.
The REAL facts are that almost all Fed agencies and Unconstitutional. This is documented in at least two different places in our Constitution. It's CRYSTAL CLEAR. We are watching the beginning of their dismantling as we speak.
I find it very hard to believe that the investigating agents did not notify their chain-of-command that the director of an airport is under investigation for illegally selling firearms.
It would only cost the entire ATF department 1.27 million dollars to outfit every single one of their 5099 officers with body cameras, and those cameras would be the more expensive option.
Not entirely true. They do take down a lot of bad people, they do stop a lot of illegal firearms and so forth. But, to your point, it's kind of like a surgeon that shows up for surgery drunk 10% of the time. Sure, 90% of the time he's fine, but he should still lose his license.
@ 1:37:10 There is evidence sir! Your agents were recorded in the Walmart parking lot, preparing to process the warrant on the 12th. But it was served on the 19th.
I do believe that any law abiding citizen, as I'm sure everyone would agree the victim was, would comply with a search warrant that was served at a decent hour of business. As stated this was not a search warrant being served on a cartel, which is where they would normally use the element of surprise 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. no knock entrance. I hope that this is not swept under the rug as many of this type of abuse of power is normally taken care of. My deepest condolence to the victim's family❤
The Executive branch and its administrative components can avoid giving Congress any information by opening an investigation? Sounds like the Administration is going to investigate everything, indefinitely.
it's maybe because i am not american or english native speaker, but i don't get it, how do you get to become a part of Judiciary Committee by axing instead of asking?
Wait a mintue. You tell me that my local Police and Shrieffs have body cameras but a Federal agency doesn't? Is this why ATF and FBI Agents been hostile to civilians who have recording devices? We the people know these agencies don't want to be monitored while interacting with the general public.
Why does this man have no shame and how can he run ATF he speaks on illegal firearms and knows nothing about a firearm we need to replace him as chairman
Congresswoman M.Bath needs to lose her seat. The A.T.F.E. needs to be refunded until they stop executing people who are hobbiests and law abidding Americans.
You would think that judiciary would have something to do with JUSTICE but has it ever? Will it ever? WHAT A JOKE. IT'S JUST A SHOW FOLKS. THE SAME CLOWN SHOW WE'VE WATCHED OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. NEVER ACCOUNTABILITY EVER!!!!
Did I hear Dettlebach correctly? Would swear he went over how “gun violence” is getting worse - than said we need to double down on current failing approaches “because they are working!”
