Hey JDV!!! Great review. I appreciate the full disclosure statement upfront but you're really pretty objective when it comes to review. The lag issue must be wildly difficult given it's taken so long to be addressed. Great review!
Thank you David! Always good to see you! I try to be as fair as I can possibly be (in all things). Far as the Zen lag goes, I'm guessing some hard choices are going to have to be made by AG to truly solve the issue. I'm guessing/hoping it'll be resolved by Xmas (or earlier), but that's just a guess.
I enjoy this pack more on the alp 4kp native than from steam, it looks and plays pretty good across all three with Godzilla being my favorite. I have noticed some ball stutter in the middle of the playfield but its not consisent but I have seen it a few times. The SSF rocks on these tables. I will say the call outs suck but are more muted than steam imho, I have to turn them off completely on Godzilla, the other ones I dont mind too much .
What I love about ZILLA is the replay value - even though the rules are fairly simple, they is enough there to keep coming back for more. It's also a beautiful table.
Enjoyed the vid. Makes me feel happy ditched my ALP for a 43in 144hz. The extra 1 or 2k is the same if you add the ssf kit and staggered table packs for 15usd a go so in time you'll spend more. Until less fix the lag then ill only recommend the HD model for a 1st time buyer with 1k less budget
Which I totally understand... but there are oodles of games without lag too. If you dig the Gottlieb tables it's def worth taking a run at... but if not waiting is totally legit.
I have one in my Amazon cart now that might fit the bill: www.amazon.com/dp/B09NBDCT52/?coliid=I3FO46ZY3OVES2&colid=3A0ZPQPPPRI8M&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I’d rank the Kong table as the best one, especially with the inverted playing! Godzilla is a close second, but it’s too easy to lose the ball while going for the initial skill shot. The Godzilla vs Kong table is my least favorite!
KONG is growing on me. When the table flips it is a bit trippy! All in all, it might be the best 3 game pack from AtGames - big IPs, very colorful/good graphics, great sound, and over-all very solid playing tables.
@@evilgeniusentertainment I like them, but there is an issue with the ball being sluggish when traveling north and south too. They’re still fun and I’m glad that Kong is growing on you! 👍🏻
I'm hoping that we'll be getting more ability to tweak the sound on all 4KP games down the line... including being able to turn off the callouts. They are way too many of them, and all of them are bad.
@@evilgeniusentertainment Yeah, I am hoping once they get the major bugs out of the Zen tables they will add more settings. I would like the settings to be like it is on Steam.
Unless they chop things down, the 3588 can't handle 4k 60 fps pinball or any 4k gaming beyond a board game. A basic cpu and gtx1650 is far more powerful and chokes with 4k.
The chip itself is actually capable of 8K ... honestly, this new GODZILLA game looks amazing. It's really only the lag that's truly hampering these games (which I'd guess has very little to do with the chipset and more about Unreal5/Android wrapper). Virtual pinball is tough to do; some problems are to be expected regardless of the chipset....
@evilgeniusentertainment 8K video. Not GPU calculations. Not enough ram or speed for any of that, yet alone heat dissipation. Same for 4k. Not enough resources. I might know what I'm talking about in regards to actual specs.
What can I tell you Rushmore, except that the games for the most part look great. Lag aside (which is an issue), the games play great too. Are these true 4K tables? Probably not. Will most buyers care (particularly if the lag is fixed)? Probably not. Put another way, you can easily spend more just on a GPU then you can for this entire machine delivered to your door. I think most people's expectations for this machine will be reasonable considering price and other (non-existent) options.
