Ather has launched its showroom at Ponnnuruni, Vytila - Kochin on the month of March 2021. Ather 450x is a premium Indian electric scooter maker. They have two models, namely - Ather 450x & Ather 450 Plus. The Ather 450x & Ather 450 plus scooters are built on hybrid bolted frame (Shell) in cast aluminum and fiber parts, making it the lightest electric scooter. Ather 450 is one of the most beautiful, powerful and identical electric scooter in India. Athe scooters have a mono shock single suspension in the rear which is not featured in an electric scooter in India. The Ather 450x is available in 3 colors - Mint, White and Black. Unlikely, the this vehicle uses a frame mounted motor for the drive than a hub motor in other electric scooters. The motor is fixed in the center frame which gives more stability to the vehicle. The motor used is an AC permanent Magnet Synchronous motor of power 6.6 kWh. This motor provides a smoother acceleration compared to other electric scooters. There are 4 drive modes for Ather 450x - Eco, Ride, Sport and the warp. Ather 450X will have the best-in-class acceleration of 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds in Warp mode and a True Range of 85 km in Eco mode. In warp mode the motor produces a 26 Nm peak torque which makes the scooter to attain a top speed of 87 km/hr. The battery is placed in the floor bed of the vehicle which gives more stability to the vehicle while cornering . The battery used is a Lithium Ion batter of 2.9 kWh which can be charged in full by 3 units of electricity in our home, which gives a true range of 85 kilometer in ECO mode. The certified range is 116 kms, but we are to assuring the certified range to the customers. The front suspensions are hydraulic telescopic suspensions with gives maximum riding comfort to the rider and the tyres are tubeless (90-90-12 size). The breaks in both rear and front are combi disk breaks with great performance.
The finished product, Ather 450x is one of the most beautiful scooters available in India. The fit and finish, product quality, built quality can be easily observed in the first look itself. The vehicle has a 7 inch touch screen TFT display which works in Android Operating system with ESim loaded which can be updated on Air. The navigation maps are preloaded with all charging stations details. The vehicle has two charging options- normal charging and fast charging. It takes 3.35 hrs to charge 80% in normal charging and 5.45 hrs to get it fully charged. While in fast charging option, the scooter can be charged in full within 1.40 hrs. 10 minutes charge in fast charging can take you 15 kms to your home or friends home which help you to charge the scooter in your own comfort.
The vehicle uses a belt drive technology - a carbon reinforced material which lasts for 45,000 kms. Now lets think about the price, after subsidy of Rs. 43500/- the Ather 450x is priced in an amount of Rs. 1,62,566/- on road price and Rs. 1,42,430/- for Ather 450 Plus. The Ather 450 plus has a range of 70 km and does not have the warp mode. In two type of chargers one can be selected at the time of purchase.
