Welcome to the world of Coke Studio Pakistan and lightly Westernized Sufi music. It's a huge hit series and has been recreated in other countries. I love the way Sufi poets argue with G*d, you'll hear variations on the "what would the World think" if we come to your door to beg and come home empty handed? theme in other songs.
Another great job Maggie. You always bring us a great variety of artists on your channel. I love learning more musical genres. Thank you for showing what the world has to offer!
Tanya, this is not Bollywood music, this is Pakistani music, most of these singers have sung many songs for bollywood movies. If you are a Bollywood fans, what i am about to say may disappoint you. Bollywood has been copying songs from Pakistan dating back to the 1960s, if you are interested to listen to the copied songs, search you tube for Bollywood, the biggest chappa (copy) factory, you will find hundreds of Bollywood songs copied from Pakistan.
@@babumalick yes you're right but you can't deny the fact that both nation gives so many legends like Rahet Fateh Ali Khan and Lata Mangeshkar and also great singers like Arijit Singh, Atif Aslam, Kailash Kher, Shreya Goshal and many more. So, just enjoy the outstanding divine music that both nation gives the world like O Re Piya, Teri Diwani, Kun Faya Kun, Agar tum saath ho, Afreen Afreen, Saiyyan etc.
@@babumalick lol the joke is on you, ever heard of chak de pakistan and made in pakistan, direct ripoffs of indian songs, yeah so much for the alleged originality! There is no such thing as original pakistani music its all lifted from indian classical spectrum which have had been existing centuries before islam came into being let alone pakistan.
Amazing...loved the reaction. react to more songs from the coke studio Pakistan...beware of copyrights though...you are gonna love the songs..especially artists like Abida Parveen and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan...you will be pleasantly surprised
Nusrat sahab, abida ji, Sanam marvi ji, Arif lohar, ustad naseeruddin sami, ustad fareed ayaz and Abu Mohammad, honestly many better artists than Atif Aslam. My personal opinion, though.😁. And not to forget Aziz Mian 😁😁😁🙏🏾
Loved that! Always nice to hear different vocal styles and different instruments. The Wagakki Band (Japan) have a great modern / traditional crossover style. Will have to put them up for a reaction. Great analysis - thanks Maggie.

Thank you very much for sharing your honest response to this Qawwali (pronounced Qawwaalee) rendition by Atif Aslam. A Qawwali is a spiritual and devotional form of music very much popular especially in Pakistan and India. This rendition is actually a remake of qawwali originally performed by the duo of Ghulam Farid Sabri (pronounced Ghoolaam Fareed Saabree) and Maqbool Hussain Sabri (pronounced Maqbool Hoosein Sabree) a.k.a. Sabri brothers. The third musical instrument resembling the bongo drums is called Tabla (pronounced Tablaa). Its invention is credited to 13th century sufi/mystic master Amir Khusrow (pronounced Ameer Khoosrow) who was a great poet and musician also. It is said the he invented it by cutting the traditional drum called Dhol (pronounced rhyming Hole) at middle into two parts and then covering the top side of both parts. Both drums of a tabla are beaten on its top side by a person called Tabalchi (pronounced Tabalchee) to generate its distinct sound. In contrast a Dhol is beaten at its right and left sides by a person called Dholchi (pronounced Dholchee) to generate its distinct sound.
You should react to "Tu jhoom" by coke studio season14. It is an awesome Pakistani art peace. Moreover, i can't stress enough on u reacting to "Chaap Tilak" by coke studio. It is sung by two Master vocalists in Pakistan who are loved by the whole of South Asia. Lastly, u will love "Bol Hu" by Nescafe Basement. A part of it is sung by an 8 year old girl who flabbergatsed the whole country with her marvelous singing. Allah u Akbar is also a great hamd (music that praises God) by coke studio. Would love to see u react to it
React on latest season of coke studio it's started 2 weaks ago and they drop 4 songs already but this season is totally different from other 13 seasons every song has different vibe different set you definetely gonna love this season ❤
I found your reaction is the best one for tajdare haram , please go react on tu jhoom , by coke studio season 14 episode 1 . U understand the misic so u r gonna love it and learn more about singing and music .
It's qawali music which is related to devotional singing related to Islamic faith. Called Sufism or Sufi music. Qawali is style in which it sings with main singer and backup singer sitting down and claps and repeats some lines to main singer. Mostly qawali style singing was related to Islamic religion but from few years back this singing style also uses in love poetic songs .
Atif is well known for not having any classical training at all and is mostly emulating classical sound purely based on his own talent. If you want to listen/watch to some legendary vocalists, i would recommend Chaap tilak by rahat fateh ali khan and abida parveen who are both regarded as some of the best vocalist in south asia
Coke Studio is a music Platform Which gives opportunity to legendary singer and emerging artist from Pakistan🇵🇰. Coke studio make fusion of traditional and modern music. With traditional and modern instruments. Urdu is national language of Pakistan. But other regional languages like ( Punjabi, pushto, Balochi, Sindhi, gilgiti , kashmiri etc ) are also spoken in Pakistan but Urdu is spoken when different cultural people try to communicate with each other. Everyone understand Urdu. Urdu is very poetic language. It's is influenced by Persian, Arabic and Turkish. But grammar is totally different. It is written like Arabic script. Pakistan is Islamic country. So some songs are related to God or prophets. This song " Taj dar e Haram " is related to Prophet Muhammad. Haram called Masjid al Haram is Mosque in Saudia Arabia which Muslim pilgramage to Mecca city to pray their. So it's related to faith.
This is song is about our prophet muhammed pbuh and what a common man like us feel when we enter into the mosque where his shrine is........we are inside the mosque that houses the Man whom God spoke with him directly when prophet muhammed pbuh was taken to the heavens to see God ,the Angels and other prophets....pbut

PRETTY PLEASE REVIEW THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE CONCERT BY RAHAT FATEH ALI KHAN ..... if you like Atif's belting, then you'll really love someone who can belt a concert hall into a trance!
Just had a thought, have you listened to Eurythmics "There Must be an Angel Playing With My Heart"? You should listen to the Vevo version. Stevie Wonder plays harmonica in his unique, beautiful style.
