Great video and thank you. A special to those pilots from Newfoundland. They sure made difference down in Shelbourne County. A special thanks to all our firefighters, first responders, ground search and rescue teams and volunteers. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers
Nice spotting! Two 747 lobster haulers, both flights to Frankfurt, the water bombers helping fight a forest fire, the Porter E2 (what an ugly bird), Lynx, Swoop, and Flair LCC flights, and more. The only thing missing would be Ted and Debbie's Sable Island run - but maybe they weren't flying that day.
Love seeing spotting at my home airport! Also, I noticed how annoying the constant cars are in this video, it’s a problem for me too! It feels like every time a plane is about to land or take off, 10 cars come by 😂
Thanks for the extended 747 footage, never tire of seeing Atlas or Kalitta! I live in NS, didn’t realize this much traffic existed at YHZ. I think I’ll take a trip down there this weekend. Great footage, thanks.
Awesome footage and so much thanks for showing the whole plane. So many spotting channels nowadays are zooming in on just the nose for some reason. Don’t change a thing!
Thank you very much for this Planespotting, especially the "Special Ones" like the CL-215 Tanker, the EVAS Air Beechcraft 1900, the 767-300 (D-ABUF) from Condor - and not to forget: the ATR 42-600 from Air Saint-Pierre (and yes, Saint-Pierre et Miquelon has an own Airline!😃)!👍 It seems to be that you got a little bit into the Rain...☂
Also, that area overlooking the cargo pad, I discovered that one day by accident and I was treated to seeing a Korean Air Cargo 777 come in and I felt like a kid on Christmas 😂
Nice video! I've live down in NS, and have family who works at the westjet hangar there, which should provide a perfect view of a Kalitta air, but we've never seen one. Only atlases, skylease cargo, and asl airlines. Hopefully it will come back soon! 😊
That first plane coming in needs its compressor blades checked. It sounded like a piston engine machine until the reversers kicked in. I keed. Those 747 shots were awesome! Especially that first one coming in. It looked like he had an issue toward the last seconds over the threshold. Almost like a small windshear event. Those waterbombers were cool to see. And I love me some 757's. That last one was having none of that wet runway raining 'n clouds. As soon as he was nominal that jet was off the ground and out of there, and probably above the weather faster than I could type this sentence. Good stuff, Alex! Thanks for stickin' through the rain!
Looks like I was at YHZ to catch Eurowings and Kalitta the same time you were there too. I probably walked right by you on my way back to my car and had no idea you were there recording video.
That E195-E2 looks like a modernized and miniaturized version of the old DC-8! I read recently that those old 737-200 combi's that you did a report on awhile ago are getting retired.
I had to look up YXT, who the heck is flying a charter between Terrace and YHZ?! Also, unrelated but what rumours have you heard about new routes in/out of YLW? Love the channel!
Quite a few charters between Terrace and Halifax. They're carrying some of the workers from many parts of Canada working on the big natural gas pipeline across British Columbia and the port facilites at Kitimat, B.C. (near Terrace) where the gas will be liquified and loaded on ships to Asia. I think the workers work something like 2 weeks on/2 weeks off so they're flown back and forth on these charters every few weeks. Similar flights between Terrace and other points in Canada related to this multi billion $$ project.
I had the same thought. My two most un-favorite aircraft to be a passenger in are the Dash 8 (buzz-buzz) and the 737 Max. But that seems to make up a majority of the passenger air traffic at YHZ these days unfortunately. Great to see the Kalitta Air 747 drying off the runway on takeoff.
What was the date of this footage? You say "earlier this month" so assumed it was early July, but when I check FlightAware going back to July 1, the aircraft you show don't appear at YHZ on the flights you indicate. So what does "this month" refer to? Would be good if you could include the actual date in your video descriptions. Thanks.
It's not uncommon for US military aircraft to transit through Halifax. However, I believe they were bringing wildfire crews and equipment to help with the fires.
