I put the wooden pieces in a bead box organized by fleet number. As with many other games I have which require a lot of pieces being moved back & forth. Just open the top and set it on the table without needing to sort or stack them on the table.
Thanks for the playthrough. I have this one on my shelf and I am excited to play it, I am just waiting for a good time when I can play some sessions regularly and get through all the tutorials (and the super thick rule book). Probably at Christmas!
Game looks great. What do you think about components? (it's a little expensive). And... It's too difficult to learn? There are a lot of pages in the manuals...
It is difficult to learn in my opinion. The tutorial scenarios (10 of them) do their job, but still you are going through 10 quick scenarios 😅 I thought the components were nice, but as others noted organizing and dealing with the wooden tokens can be annoying
@@OneStopCoopShop saw some of the tutorial scenarios and I think I like a lot this game. It's very unique. I think I'm going to try in vassal/tts and hope I like it to purchase a copy. The components organization has an easy solution : wargame trays.
I absolutely hated my time with this game. The internet tells you that they did an amazing job with teaching you this game but coming to this as a heavy board game I struggled more than anyone should to learn this damn thing. The solo scenarios prompted so many questions that I couldn’t find answers for in the rulebook. I looooved the topic, the theme and believe there’s some innovative stuff here but man do they do a poor a job at telling you how to enjoy it. Hopefully someone can lift some of the gameplay here and make it more accessible in a more streamlined game. Oh and don’t get me started on those components…what an utter horror to organize this game and handle those wooden sticks!
Haha, can’t disagree about the wooden bits. Mine were falling all over the place. But for me the tutorials worked well and the game played smoothly most of the time.
