I ordered the under folder , it’s stamped from 1989 but I’ve loved every bit of it so far , what I’ve also noticed is they’ve been using their own built receivers now that are basically identical , and also even though mines all parts matching the bolt carrier has what I think is the Hungarian stamp on it , and my safety is super tight I tried bending it a little bit but oh well just needs more use I suppose. Imma order the fixed stock next I think.
I have the same rifle. Mine has much more wear on the parts kit. The furniture has old carvings of a European girls name. I did the same as you and ditched the tapco slant brake and found a surplus Romanian brake with nice matching wear. The thing I dislike is the tapco g2 trigger, mine is like a hair trigger, it’s almost sketchy. Other AKs with g2 triggers feel nice. Might go with a surplus trigger group.

That is the right amount of wear for a BFPU. Some of them are *really* worn. I want one of these but I'm worried about getting a badly mangled one with carved up wood and white metal. They don't let you choose.
I have the same style gun from Century International Arms that purchased it was called Romanian GP1975 AK47 with a a 2 hook modified trigger, bayonet, wooden furniture with storage, matching numbers
Nice rifles and good video. Your presentation was very interesting. A few thoughts on your video: 1. The way your dust cover covers your trunnion markings doesn’t look right. I know you said it was bent but I would have taken issue with Atlantic over it. 2. You mentioned top AK receiver makers but you didn’t mention Recreator blanks. If you haven’t heard of them check them out Matt does really really nice work.
It is a matching dust cover too which is even stranger, i did bend it back in place and its not quite as bad now. and i havent heard of recreator ill have to check them out
As far as the safety goes, it’s an ak, so to loosen it up field strip and then turn it to the 12’o clock position and bend it away from the receiver until it’s to your liking
Got me one today on the Texas made ausa lower with a Hungarian metal drum for about 30 percent more than you got yours for but the drums are a buck fifty new and prices have went crazy lately so I'm pretty happy.
the bag comes with an AK they themselves build. If it's a wasr, n-pap, Z-pap, Arsenal etc it comes with the box from the distributor. But if Atlantic themselves assembles the gun they send the bag out

@@scooter4849 You can do one video per week if you don't have the time to do a lot of them. I would suggest 1 per week rather than 2 in a row, followed by a week off. Just an idea.
I learned to build AKs starting with these. IMO the MOD 63 kits with the Polish Chrome lined barrels from AoA are the best AKs out there right now. You can build these for about $400 depending on how much you want to put into it. Make great Mil Spec AKs that will last forever.
DiMeNsIoNs only problem is i dont have the right tools to build one. Is buying one of their pre-made kits thats just missing the furniture+fire control group and safety a better bet?
@@zachs652 When buying an AK you first want to ask what I am going to use it for? If you are going to the range and just put a lot of rounds through it a WASR-10 is your best value. They will last a long time and are I think around $700 ish right now. If you want to spend some money and get a bit more quality and polished looking AK the Arsenals / WBP FOX are the way to go IMO. I build my own but I am currently waiting on the PSA AK-E that is coming out any day now. They are forged with the new FN CHF Barrels. Really looking forward to shooting it. I think the price point on those is going to be somewhere between 799 and 899. PSA is trying really hard to make the best quality weapons for the best prices. If you do not mind having a regular nitride barrel the PSA AK G3 ( Blem if you can find one ) are great also. I think they are going for 529.99 right now and with a lifetime warranty.
I got a Lee armory Romanian BFPU. And it looks alot rougher and pitted than yours. Yours is very nice! The cool thing on mine was it was numbers matching and had a name carved in the stock

Nice AKM's man! I miss my old WASR10 and the C39V2 both from Century Arms, but we all know about the issues with the C39 & C39V2 unfortunately. I procrastinated in ordering the Polish bolt and bolt carrier and was unable to upgrade my C39V2. My initial gut feeling told me to not upgrade and shoot the shit out of that rifle. I did so and am glad because I had to sell many of my guns to come back to California to help take care of my mom. My collection is missed but I don't care too much anymore because in June of 2020 in SoCal with all the rioting going on I'm glad to be here to protect family.
I know one can never have a big enough gun safe, by the way thanks for the AK videos, Ive been trying to decide wich one to get. Ive been kind of scared to order a battle feild pick up model fearing it will be of poor quality. Whats your opinion about this based on your experience with Atlantic Firearms?
All 4 of mine have been excellent builds, the parts quality has been completely fine. I think they tend to only use parts kits that are of good quality and pitch or sell off ones that arent.
I also have one of these Romanian battlefield pick up aks and the condition wasn’t bad but the one in the video was is in better condition (wood set wise) but they’re a great gun over all I haven’t had one issue with mine so far

The Romanian 10/63 is a WASR (10) Same gun same barrel same everything. WASR-10 was the weapon made in Romania that could still be imported into the USA with the new regulations. The WASR 10 was imported with a single stack magwell that was just modified in the USA to accept regular AK Mags. Same gun.
The morrisey receiver is among the best american made receivers you can get. the green mountain barrell aint top of the line but it isnt trash either. and the trigger is a century rak-1. better than a tapco but still not the best on the market. overall the american made componets are of acceptable quality or higher.
AKM Operator I’m debating on waiting for these to get back in stock or just go ahead and buy the full finish versions. I run my aks in recreational competitions so it will get roughed up eventually
So someone's decided to take a look at my nation's weapon...nice despite I'm also a Romanian. Proud to carry that out, but where does Atlantic gets those AKs?...those were made in 60s and from there onwards towards the Romanian revolution in 89 right when Romanian broke outta communism and Romania was never ever part of USSR, just under dictatorship. Still those AKs aren't produced anymore nor used by the army that much but they are still carried in public by the law enforcement also used. I almost forgot to say that the real name of that gun is PM MD63.
Held up pretty well for the most part. she did form some very slight bits of rust around some of the rivets i noticed like a year ago but removed it. i think now ive probably got 1.5k-2k rounds through her and never had a malfunction.
Was going to shoot it this weekend but bad weather will prevent me. will shoot in the coming weekends and ill give you an update. Also, the underfolder is currently out of stock so you'll have to wait or get the fixed stock one.
It isn’t that hard, at least with mags. I use either mineral spirits or acetone and a paper towel to get it off. Either way, remember to oil your mags a bit after cleaning them, for both aesthetic and anti-rust purposes
@@MHSMokeEater I have a 81 zatava m70AB2. Everything original including the barrel, except for the reciever. It even has the granade launcher configuration on it.
Nice! but guys.... be very careful about 922a compliance- especially with this new administration. (Guns and Games dude- keep in mind as soon as you put that romanian muzzle device on or pop in one of those cool mags you bought... you are probably 'illegal'.)
As a gunsmith I have seen, cleaned, repaired and modified plenty of AK weapons with the exception of Krinkov's which I have only ever had one come in. The best models are milled receivers and not all were Russian. The Chinese milled ones are nice as well. The "best" models are subjective to say the least. The Bulgarian and Hungarian models have better quality control and fitting than Russian made ones do, so to say the Russian ones are the best is off to say the least. There really is no best one. I have an AMD-65, a Polish PKM, and A Romanian one dated 1982 just like the one above and all are equally nice. The problem is who makes the receivers and how the trunion is installed. Since most of the ones on the market until the last 10 years were parts kits imported it's all on how the receiver is built and how well, that doesn't make the kit junk, that makes the builder not very good at what he does. The receiver is 80% of the builds with these kits and 15% mounting of trunions. Sorry but I will completely disagree with you based on my experience, the best models are not just Russians, they are one put together by a competent gunsmith regardless of manufacture!
@@sayidi.6194 Your point is apples and oranges but I'll go with it. The Mercedes-Benz made in germany is stamped (receiver). The Chinese milled (receiver). Which one is better? The milled version every single time. They are more robust and no rivets are needed to hold them together, parts interchange and weight of the milled receiver reduced climb on recoil. As I stated before just because it comes from Russia doesn't mean it's somehow better. With the exception of some asain countries the specs on the AK are 100% identical and that's why all parts interchange without (in most cases) even head spacing the bolt! 99% of the ones in the US are US made receivers which are the largest part of the AK's function and determine if the weapon is good or not. For comparison to apples and apples, Russia's Mosin Nagant was produced in Russia mostly. The best quality production Mosin Nagant was Remington and Westinghouse in the US for the Russian govt. in WW1. The M1 Garand was made by everyone during ww2 and after. Winchester M1's are the most collectible, however they are the most crudely finished internally, crudely put together M1's on the market, yet they are the most sought after and expensive. So to reiterate, The Soviet AK, stamped receiver is no better than a Bulgarian, Romanian, or Hungarian. I would advise you to own one or two of each and or shoot one or two of each before you pass judgement. once you actually own these guns and shoot them, you will see quality is in the US build and receiver used as they all have loose tolerances. Buy one before you are going to critique one.
