Spot on !!! The staff are like grumpy mid evil statues… rude with attitudes… and gets upset when you ask for directions !!! I wish I watched this before I went… let me digress, it was for my kid… thanks for sharing
I've visited Atlantis four times for the water park and other amenities, but I always stay next door at the RIU Palace. You get unlimited food and drinks, a far better beach, and just as nice a room as the mid-tier Atlantis rooms ... and all for a LOT less money. Sure, if you want to spend every day doing adventure activities, you're probably better off at the Atlantis. I vacation more for the beach and to relax, so I purchase a day pass ($150) to spend one day at the Atlantis water park. And for those who don't know, the Atlantis casino is free to enter whether you're a guest or not, and the beautiful aquarium is free to non-guests after 6 or 6:30 p.m.
We just got back from our first visit to Atlantis after wanting to go for so many years. I would have to agree the service was not great, the overpriced costs just did not make sense for the prices being charged, ($200 breakfast for family of 4, and averaged $300-$350 per night for dinner for nothing grand, special or delicious). The grounds are beautiful, but we have experienced the same vibe and atmosphere in other places, (minus the sea life) for so much less! After staying in Atlantis for a week, I will never complain about Disney prices ever again LoL!. Take your money and family and spent it somewhere else. You won't regret it
We have been to Atlantis a few times where would you suggest we go that is of that quality somewhere else a couple hotel links would be greatly appreciated. We’re thinking maybe of doing Xcaret in the Mayan Rivera.
@@adriancampbell8310 So much has changed during these Covid times, taht I am afraid to recommend or suggest any location to travel too. So many restrictions and changes makes you think twice before booking anything and not enjoying the full experience. But I can say I think you have the best destination in mind with XCaret at the Mayan Riviera. That is at the top of our list for later this year. So far everything we have researched, looks promising. The per night cost is a higher than other resorts, but for an all inclusive stay, with large rooms, it looks to be worth it. Good Luck and stay safe on your travels!
If you want to save money on the room cost then you can stay at the comfort Inn which is adjacent to the property and you get all the benefits of the Atlantis Also, on your way from the airport you can ask the taxi driver to stop at a grocery store to buy water and snacks etc. You can eat in the village at Carmines and have two entrays for a family of 5. It is worth it if you know how to enjoy it. I agree I hate the 15% tips on everything because some of the staff dont earn it.
Or stay at the Comfort Suites right out the front door of the Atlantis Beach Tower and get your free pass into Atlantis everyday and that saves you that $150 a day pass to Atlantis and the the slides and everything else at Atlantis. The Comfort Suites Hotel is owned by the same people that owe Atlantis so free $150 passes everyday adds up.... and you even get a free breakfsat every moring at the Comfort Suites.
Thanks for the quick response! I will go check out your Xcaret videos. So....what's your favorie kid friendly resort so far that you would go back to? Also the next time you 2 want a 3 or 4 day adults only get away, check out The Atelier Resort in Mexico. Playa Mujeres. Get a 4th/5th Roof Top Suite. Top Notch!
I'm here now- staying at the Harborside (2 bedroom/2 bath/ 2 kitchens as my second room is a lockoff)- the staff isn't great for what you are paying. Reaching the staff at harborside is impossible they do not pick up their phones. The food (I live outside NY) I agree. I agree about paying the day pass and staying somewhere else 100 percent.
I’m here now and it is just as you’re explaining.. the staff is little help, food is very par at top dollar..I’m gonna take your advice and leave the resort tonight
HELL NO! It’s not worth it. This place was so disappointing. Rooms were okay! Food was terrible and not to mention super overpriced! Never come back! Biggest waste of vacation money ever. Been all over the world and been in some of the finest hotels and resorts and I can tell you that I have never been so disappointed. The staff was so rude and acted like they could care less about you. Place is beautiful but couldn’t wait to leave. Just being honest.
After our experience we did more research on others, and sounds like your view point is shared amongst many. But yeah, we had fun, but not for the price of admission in our eyes. Maybe worth the day pass.
@@NoNo-ny4uf I would agree, we had a ton of fun exploring Bahamas (new video coming to showcase that aspect). But we’d also agree that this resort probably wasn’t worth the price of admission. But you better believe we will be back to the Bahamas soon for some more scuba!
@@TheAdventureBuddies yea man I feel you. I believe the price is so high vastly due to the fact that we’re such a small company. Food and other things are also more expensive than the us because we import almost everything. Hotels such as Atlantis were closed for so long that’s probably why it costs so much.
I visited the Atlantis (21 years ago, didn’t stay) and was there last week off the cruise ship to just check out. It’s definitely unique, but starting to show some age. I tried to get a quick drink at the bar. I wanted to try a shot of Blue Label, Johnnie. I had my wallet out and was willing to pay $20-25 for it. The bartender said, “$50.” Yeah big pass!! My wife and I are/ were considering a stay here, but after the video and your opinion, I might look into RIU!
ugh, just left this crap hole. Wife trapped me into it, I should have done some research. HUGE rip off! The customer service is still really poor, rude and don't seem to care. Bed bugs first day we got there, so changed rooms. The door keys we had for original room and the new one we always had to swipe it about 20x to finally get in our room, we stayed at the Coral. I could keep going but man, what a shithole. Never again.
Really would be nice if someone would give price examples food ,resort etc…everyone talks about price but you’ll find no one actually gives prices. Video would have to be hit
I'm staying here now. Agree 100%, tips are already included everywhere you go. Maybe this is why the service is so bad at every restaurant. Prices are to high for all restaurants. I always tip extra when I receive great service. It is almost like nobody wants to provide good service. Maybe staff has to split tips with everyone so no one tries to provide excellent service. Too much money for below customer service everywhere. Rooms are Motel six like. I will never return to Atlantis. Rather go anywhere else. I've said thank you fifty times and never hear your welcome. Crazy stuff! It's almost like the staff everywhere is upset that they are working at a resort. Would love to hear from a ex resort employee. They maybe are getting taken advantage of. Idk. Very strange.
A quick question. We are thinking of mabe Xcaret in Mexico for our next family trip. What resort have you been to that you liked better than Atlantis? Exploring our options. Many thx Adventure Buddies! :)
I think most of the resorts in Cancun that are kid friendly you can’t go wrong with. I would just watch the time of year, based on the seaweed…if you know then you know haha it’s terrible late spring We have a whole series on all three of the Xcaret resorts (just an fyi)
Friends love staying at The Grand at Moon Palace in Cancun. Great for families. We just bounce around based on deals in Cancun as we do a lot of activities outside of the resort
It is walkable, it’s on the east side of the complex (technically off the complex). But they also have shuttles for you that run fairly consistent that takes you right there.
just got back from Atlantis, the cove specifically and it was not worth the money. Beautiful and fun, but the food was so pricey for nothing really. would for sure not do Atlantis again. Will add, as two adults sans children we were happy to have spent the money on the Cove and not at the Royal. But we didn't like that the Cove exclusive adult pool wanted to charge you for a chair if you didn't get there early enough to snag the free ones. and $11 water, no thanks.
I am going to Nassau on a cruise, would you recommend that day passes to visit are truly worth it over the option to spend the day snorkeling in the sea? I’m from NY so I don’t want to regret my decision!! Your response will be so appreciated thank you for this video! ❤️
You guys have me so torn between the beach and the slides but I wanted to mention we only have about 5 hours which feels like not enough time to go full throttle on the slides 🥺🙏 Help!!
@@rfamilyentertainment6236 that’s a tough one with the limited time frame, we would recommend an excursions to pig island and some cool snorkeling. But I think you could totally do Atlantis in 5 hours. Only concern is that when we were there with covid, they had half of the park shut down one day and then the other half the next day. So not sure if it’s still like that. But outside the staff and prices, we loved the slides and the beaches, really fun for all ages.
@@TheAdventureBuddies that’s such an important factor to bring up because that’s been pretty consistent among most amusement parks so I’m glad you reminded me of that. We would be so disappointed to only be able to do half of the park for our 1st time ever and there’s so much more of Nassau to see even thought that’s been on my bucket list! I love snorkeling and have never been to the Bahamas so I will totally take your word for it! Looks like you guys had a blast and thank you so much for your quick response! Safe travels!! 🤙✈️
We went on a cruise and did the day pass Atlantis. My parents (65) did not feel it was enough time but me and my sister (35 + 37) with our 4 kiddos (3,4,6 and 12) had the best time that we want to go back and stay a week. I would say it is VERY worth the day pass its just a lot of walking.
@@TheAdventureBuddies its like Disney but Caribbean, the parks are similar to Atlantis but the food is far better and it has 5 different hotels depending on the level of your pocket. I enjoyed the aquarium. Its huge you would have to experience it for yourself. They have a casino a very huge one and I think there's more than 10 restaurants. Its a vacation city 😂
