Wow! I have one of these, super rusty needs a complete rebuild. Thanks for the series of videos on taking it apart! Going to start on mine and use your vids as a guide.
I know this is off topic but your experience with vintage machinery makes me think you might have an answer to this question I have. I've got a nice old Delta Drill press with a beefy cast base with a beefy cast table. I can't get the chuck out of it though. there are threads exposed under the spindle where it looks like something is missing. The chuck m ight be pinned through the spindle I think I do see a roll pin. But if I push the roll pin out will I be left with a morse taper?
Atlas was really good at using the same parts in different machines. I imagine it saved the company money and meant they had to stock fewer parts in inventory. I wish I had kept my 10" Atlas lathe so I could try this table out on that machine.
Unfortunately, the jaws are missing on most of the ones that I see come up for sale. There was a guy on the owwm.org site that had some reproduction jaws cast a few years ago, but I believe they were all sold. So your options are to wait until a set shows up on eBay (which does happen from time to time) or make your own jaws. Sorry I don't have more info for you.
Hello Vince, I contacted you some time ago regarding the brochure for the Atlas …could you give me your contact details.. Cheers John Hall Manchester…UK
