Watching it with headphones, full volume: Alex's laugh 0:33 made me throw away my phone, give all my belonging, move to the mountains and become a deranged hermit.
@@hayuseen6683 That is somewhat true... but I did buy my own original Nightmare game earlier this year and it was really fun to play. So intense from start to finish when you're playing.
I'd definitely be interested in seeing Khufu the Mummy. The app version of Gatekeeper seems to just be a remaster of this one (same board, same rules, same cards, same host, different video), whereas Khufu has different gameplay.
As a kid I played the original nightmare and the VHS version of this game. I remember seeing both games advertised and I remember seeing this version in 2004. I just assumed it was the exact same game but on DVD. Now I have to buy this version. It looks like the best version so far.
Holy crap, I used to have the VHS Atmosfear game ("The Harbingers") as a kid. I didn't know they'd even made any more Atmosfear games. Pity they didn't keep the Harbingers Gatekeeper; he was funnier.
I feel like, losing if you get your fear, made the most sense But ye, being sent back to start is better than just "you lose! game over! get tf out!" Additionally; if the menu was set up with mouse in mind, it makes sense to have the button darken for the mouse, but yea, oof.
Just to give the heads up about the curse (black) key. If another player lands on the curse key stone, then that player must have the key, regardless as to who has it
@LoadingReadyLive. Love the Atmosfear series that you guys have been doing. Hopefully after Covid you could try and do the Khufu the Mummy DVD Board game and hopefully it all works out. Looking back at the video, I'm pretty sure that when the gatekeeper calls on the character to roll their number to play again, it means that they will need to roll their number to continue playing the game. If they fail to roll their number they will have to pass turn to the next player to do the same. I played Atmosfear when I was a kid and I know it has been a while but I think that was how it was supposed to go. As for Ben's card that he had, if he failed in rolling his number he would have a second chance to roll his number. if he fails his second attempt he would then have to pass the dice to the next player to play. So I'm pretty sure that time in these games its to try and halt progress really bad to try and stop the players from winning the game and it becomes a game of luck in order to proceed. If you guys agree let me know. :)
I played this game once. It came done to the last minute. I grabbed the fear found it to be mine..... and the person with the remote hit the home button......
Was introducing a new friend to Nightmare last night, he had a blast. Can't wait to play II and IV (we all know III sucks). Also has anyone actually ever beat Nightmare IV? It's 100% my fault that my play group has never beat it, I think.
@@KellogsR-ny7ug I do like Anne De Chantraine, I just don't like Nightmare III. In other words, the makeup and sound departments killed it. Spells suck though.
