The full videocassette for the board game 'The Harbingers' from the Atmosfear (Nightmare if you're Australian) series. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Harb...
we used to play this all the time. obviously the vhs tape has been gone for a while now, but we still have the game. i'm definitely pulling it out now. thank you so much!
Frank, you are the true Harbinger! I cannot thank you enough for uploading this fiendish masterpiece! It was such a huge part of my life (and will continue to be after my death - when I stay as a plebian Soul Ranger).
Thank you thank you for uploading this!!! Still have this game, but had the original VHS. Played it last it last night for the first time in decades, this time with my daughter and wife. They loved it as much as I used to. Will be playing it again on family game night. Awesome game!
While I really liked having The Gate Keeper being replaced by other hosts, I must admit the imagery in the instructional portion here is definitely awesome. They said that a feature film was scrapped due to declining sales, but I say it could still work. Can we please get a Kickstarter going for an Atmosfear movie?
My best friend's older brother had this game and there was NOTHING cooler to me than playing this spooky game with older kids. Watching this is bringing back a ton of memories. 😭
I just got this game for my birthday a day ago and it came with the VHS but alas i do not have a tape player so this video is great for me since i just throw it up on the TV an go. Thanks so much for uploading this i cant wait to play this weekend and show every one in my family how amazing this game is.
Oh my lord! Thank you so much for this! I still have this game and no VCR for the tape! This means I'll still be able to play the game with friends and family! XD
Looks like a significant improvement on Nightmare, which was much more simplistic by comparison had some pretty wonky mechanics. Love to get a chance to play this one.
Never bought this game. It was always something my older brothers friend used to have on the shelf. Now I am older I can see it looks a real gem for the time it was released.
My Uncle had one of these; I remember, he and my Mother played it once after I was told to go to bed. Of course, I could still hear it from the living room and I had always been curious (since age seven) as to what the game was about, especially since I could hear them laughing and such. Now I get what was so funny, and honestly I would love to try this out! :D I heard there are copies of this one floating around for really cheap, and I even saw an updated one on DVD. Does anyone know if that one is any good? I haven't really seen much from it. And while this looks very fun, I know I'd have to watch the rules a few times through just to be sure I was doing it right, haha.
The DVD one is an updated version, yes, and it has the advantage of random assortment, so no 2 games will play alike, unlike tapes which will always remain the same. The DVD version is rather sillier in tone and toned down a bit. The gatekeeper really likes to hurl bad jokes at you in that one. There's some reviews and footage floating around here and there. :3 Not really my cup of tea, I prefer the older versions, but then again I've never played the DVD version so I'm not one to talk.
@Shane Bear I know of that game also. It's a completely different game, though. (Not Atmosphere part 1...) That's Nightmare. Thanks. I was over here wondering why...
@Shane Bear just that when i was in 7th grade, my friend owned Nightmare, & I had Atmosfear. I understand they were made with the same concept, by the same people. Just Still they're different games. Different vhs tapes, different names, different gameplay. I get what you're saying, I just think that the differences make them two separate games. (Of the same type) do you remember playing both of them? Remember the differences? It's fine, also anyone canput info on Wikipedia.. It's not the best info.
I remember seeing this game advertised, and some boys brought it in on the last day of term at primary school. I never got to play it though. Did they bring out a DVD version? If they didn't they should.
If you are a soul ranger who has collected all the keystones and has faced his worst fear, how can he return to his headstone? They don't have one. Maybe someone could tell me.
what was the name of the original game i only remember this one as a kid growing up it was very fun having this game in a big family almost couldnt remember the name of it lol
14min 30 seconds to explain how the game should be played... OMG. Its a shame that down here in Argentina we didn't had such cools games like this :( Anyways, thank you for the upload! Best regards
That's because in the third game, instead of saying "Yes my Gatekeeper" you respond to the witch Mea Culpa Anne." Play the other games, and you'll see what I mean.
