The small amount of air in the inverted glass was at atmospheric pressure when the card was placed over the rim of the glass. Therefore it cannot be a vacuuum since no air was exchanged.

What if you squeezed the air out of the tube, like in that last demonstration, at different altitudes. Would you be able to calculate the atmospheric pressure at those altitudes by how much liquid is pushed up into the tube?

So, This basically states that there is no such thing called suction at all... there is negative pressure, that is the creation of vacuum at one end or simply lower the pressure at that end...

If the enclosed glass of water is devoid of the force of atmospheric pressure, then would not a fully enclosed room also be devoid of atmospheric pressure? Yet, we could breathe fine in such an enclosed room, no? So isn't the assertion that "without atmospheric pressure we could not breathe" a gross misassertion? Aren't we just talking about how changes in volume result in pressures equalizing by displacement from one any to another?
