“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.” Good quote from the book. I also like the workbook called 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels.
the 4 laws of behaviour change, make it: 1- obvious, i.e. if you don't have a cue like a phone alarm than it's not obvious 2- Easy, i.e if is a multistep process like going to gym and you need to find clothes, drive etc than it's not easy 3- Attractive 4- Satisfying Suggests 2 strategies to change habits and make then Obvious,Easy: 1- Stacking: use an old habit to trigger a new habit 2- Starting Ritual: don't focus on the entire routine , focus on the starting of that behavior 2 other strategies to make habits Attractive and Satisfying: 1- Syncing, Doing/Having something you enjoy just if you complete the behavior you want "I only get to enjoy ________ while I do [Behavior]" 2- Scoring, make a habit inherently satisfying. i.e. ticking the days you go to the gym on the calendar
I'm not sure why I haven't discovered this channel sooner but I've been running through your videos and love how you shorten down useful books into concise messages. Really saves time and still informative enough to challenge my thoughts! Thank you so much ❤️
Thanks for saving us hours of reading and distraction. It's like you gave us extra added hours to our lives to execute on what we learned from your channel. Keep reading and gaining more clarity bro
I've been doing research for a time management book, read 3-4 articles and watched 10 book summary videos. Finally found a worth reading book! buying this now :)
Honestly thank you soo much for your work. I sometimes dont have time to read all the books i want but then i watch their summary and feel extremely grateful. Thanks!
Great job! I LOVVVVVVVVE your book list on your website! Fantastic books! I've read many of them, but see some new (new to me) ones that I can't wait to read. Thank you!
Wow!!!!! I stand in awe of this video, what a great job!!!!!!! Atomic Habits is a great book but the explanatio/breakdown in this video is magnificent!!!!!!
I love the way you connect ideas from different books to make practical, easy-to-understand, seemingly effortless approaches for us. This is by far the most applicable review from the book I have seen. Although your channel followers numbers were stagnant for quite a time, which I think is really unfair, your video quality keeps on improving, and I really happy to see you hit 80k subscribers in January of 2019. Keep up the fantastic work and thank you for your videos.
Hi, I just stumbled across your RU-vid page and I want to say a huge thank you. Your summaries have been helping me so much and have been impacting my life in a really positive way over a short space of time! Please keep going!
I red the book two months ago and am about to read it again. It's indeed an amazing book and probably the best one on habits with TONS of good information.
Love your reviews. Excellent work and saves us countless hours of reading. I’d love to know how you create these videos if you wouldn’t mind sharing that too.
Derek, I felt the same, then I talked with my dentist. He explained flossing after brushing and using mouthwash helps move the toothpaste/mouthwash under the gum line between the teeth and thus help clean more of the tooth. Who knew?
Great book review, as all the book reviews you've made, thank you!!! I've tried that, going to the gym even I don't feel like working out, sleepy, tired, sore... As Donald Trump said: sounds good, doesn't work. Stacking habits, now that seems promising, I will try it out and keep it consistent!! Thank you.
Amazing content on RU-vid brother💯💯 High quality content, pure information and great personality behind all of it. Formula for staggering success! Just uploaded a visual summary on this book. Let me know what you think🔥 Keep posting great content like this!
+Jose Antonio Pacheco yup you're right, James laid them out in a different order but I found that grouping 1 & 3 and 2 & 4 made them easier to remember and introduce the strategies discussed in the video (all four are needed so it doesn't really matter which order you discuss them)
